I think I'm going to have a minion party for DS's 4th birthday & a princess buttercup party for DD's 1st birthday. What is a "Princess Buttercup" party you may ask? I don't know. I just know that's what DH has called her from day one. Who has ideas? Spill 'em!
I love that you have an idea for her first birthday already! I have DS's birthday planned and it's absurd how excited I am about it!
When I think of buttercups I think of a flower, you could do something with that, maybe?
I think we should start a thread for first birthday ideas!
My cousin came over yesterday and she's about 11 weeks pregnant with her first. She was telling me that she's showing already. I told her that it's just bloat and that her uterus is still small and below her pelvis. She told me I was wrong and that she's showing and it's baby because her stomach is hard. It kind of took me back to 1st tri on TB.

Bahahaha!!! 1st tri is always good for laughs!!
My best friend would be my worst nightmare on TB. She's live blogging her pregnancy via FB and asks some ridiculous questions. She's 29 weeks and wants to know if internals start at her next appointment (this is just the most recent one I can think of). It's taking all I have to not block my closest friend of over 25 years.

Do y'all remember that girl in our first or second tri that got scared by her husband in the dark & she screamed really loud so she thought her baby was going to go deaf? That was so epic.

jessafishy- I love the Albus quote in your signature! That's one of my favorites of all time. Did you see that they are doing illustrated HP books? The first one comes out in October and I can't wait to get it for DD. I just know that she'll be a HP fan hahaha

Thanks for the recs huahine! I'm going traveling with DD in March and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to get a travel high chair like the My Little Seat. We are only going to be gone a couple days. Is it one of those things I'm really going to wish I spent the $25 on even though I may never use it again?

DH has a work meeting until late which means I'm on my own for dinner. He's the chef for the family. I've eaten 1/3 jar of pickled herring tonight. DH will not be impressed.

2 options for Princess Buttercup. One, just use the flower as inspiration, so lots of yellow and small teacup stuff. 2, and obviously the better one, is to go full on Princess Bride.
I vote for the first one. Such a sweet idea. Also, bonnets.
DD slept 11pmish to 5:30am night before last and 7pm to 4:30am last night. She has a cold so I'm putting it down to that and cautiously hoping it continues when she's well again...

My DD's sleep suddenly improved last week and we're at 6 days in a row. Before that it was 3x ever.

I actually have some screen captures. This seems like the right time to share because I actually found the exact one I was talking about last night!

DD used to wake 3x -11p, 2a and 5a. This is still preferable.

When DS1 was 5 months old and again when he was 9 months old and 11 months old he spent a week with my mother in an apartment by one of my company's offices. She was spoon-feeding him so needed a way to contain him while he ate. Each time the my little seat was very useful. By 14 months old it was less necessary because he was able to sit in a chair by himself, but we still used it. During that 9 month span when it lived in my diaper bag we found ourselves in restaurants a few times where they didn't have highchairs, but that didn't happen often.
Will you have your bucket car seat with you? If so, you can always use that for your DD to sit in at restaurants and on the road.
I also vote for the Princess Bride theme. Just last week I was debating whether or not it was inappropriate for my 3 year old to watch. Thoughts?
I don't think there's anything that's bad about the movie. I personally am not a fan of the movie, it's funny but it's just not amazing to me. However, DH LOVES that movie & I think it would thrill him to have a Princess Bride party for DD. So I'm definitely leaning towards that. Thanks to y'all!

I'm so happy for you guys. This gives me a ray of hope that my LO might shift off his every 2 hour wakeup routine one of these years.
