Any good recommendations for a good baby lotion? DS face is red and getting so dry from all the drooling lately. Johnsons baby is what we were using but it doesn't seem to help.
We use baby burts bees after his bath, but when his cheeks got really chapped and dry I put my special stuff on him. I use Medicine Mama's sweet bee magic as a facial moisturizer. I love it.

Maybe some coconut oil? I've been putting that on everything recently.
We moved to a new apartment today! We're no longer living in the 4th floor and we survived 3 months of living with DHs cranky grandparents. I feel like a champion. Now I just have to unpack....

For the face and drooling I put lanolin on their cheeks/chin. I figure it works for dry/cracked nipples and is safe for use while nursing, it'll work for their face. For body we use Cetaphil, but that's for DS's eczema. It flares up in the winter. Haven't needed anything yet for DD.

We use Aquaphor, it helps some for DD2. She has extremely rosy cheeks, while DD1 hasn't had any issues.. It worked better with my DS, but he drooled and sucked in his hands a lot less.

Same here! It worked really well for us.
We use aquaphor for diaper rash so I looked at it for the redness on my son's face, but it says to avoid getting in eyes or mouth. That's why I use lanolin on the cheeks and chin.
We don't have the money for something like this right now, but I feel an intense desire to treat myself to a blow dry bar. Not sure where that came from, but it would be so nice to look good (for once!) and not have to do my hair for a few days! Have any of you ever tried one? I have curly hair that usually looks very "carefree" (if I'm being charitable) LOL.
Having a date night at a dinner and a movie place. It's our first time going to a place where you can have a glass of wine and see a movie. It's worth the lack of sleep if I get alcohol right?
Do your LO's sometimes get a hive? As in just one. We noticed today that DS randomly had one on his back, but I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.
I get that sometimes. Usually near my wrists, just one hive and it's usually gone within the hour. No idea how common or normal it is but it would only bother me (personally) if it was still there hours later or looked to be getting worse.

Does anyone else's LO not really eat the food you give them? We've done peas, green beans and oatmeal so far and I can't really get her to eat anything. She just pushes it around in her mouth and eventually just gets pushed out of it and on to her. And even with that, I get her to maybe take enough bites to equal half of a tablespoon.

DD1 will eat things, loved carrots the other day. Meanwhile DD2 still isn't having it. She will make yucky faces and push it all out, giving us "you crazy ?!" looks. They're 6.5m now.

DS hasn't been a fan of anything green yet (peas, avocado) but has liked pears, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, and banana. It did take him a few days to stop with the tongue thrust reflex, too. We haven't done green beans yet but peas literally made him cry, lol. He's as bad as my preschooler.

DD is doing the exact same thing. We've done cereal, sweet potato, banana and she just kind of gives us a funny look and spits it out. I thought maybe I just need to wait a little longer but idk.

DD loves solid food. I actually think she likes it better then bfing. She eats peas, yellow squash, sweet potatoes, apples, bananas, peaches, pears and mango. She didn't like avocado or carrots. Breakfast is a fruit and dinner is a veggie with rice cereal.
Thanks for the suggestions on lotion! Going to target today so will buy a few diff kinds.
Regarding solid foods: my LO def took some time to warm up to it, we are doing purées. He likes sweet potatoes, peas, and cherries with oats a lot now. Other foods not as much so maybe keep trying diff kinds and see what she likes.
Today my boss got a call that his daughter had been kidnapped and he had to pay a ransom. The whole situation was sketchy and terrifying. Everyone is now safe, but there was a period that we could not get ahold of his wife to see if she had the kids. I can't even imagine what that must have felt like!

DD likes most food. I usually mix purées with rice cereal or oatmeal the first time I try something with her. She had eaten everything I've given her so far. *fingers crossed*
For those of you doing more solids like pancakes, are your kids teething yet? My DD has no teeth at all yet so I'm nervous about branching away from purées.
My first son loved the binky. LOVED it. We used to have to pull it out of his mouth to get a photo of him without it. DS2 will take the binky, but he isn't all that into it. What he does love is his hands, namely gnawing on them. He has managed to break the skin open on both hands. So I've got socks on them. It looks hilarious, oh boy does it tick him off.

She's got teeth coming but not yet through. She's had chunks of banana, frozen apple sauce in a mesh bag and a chunk of pancake and was supervised but got on fine. If it becomes mush in the mouth, I'm not concerned about letting her have a bit. You could try a mesh feeder bag if it's making you nervous?

I am so nervous about solids. We have tried mum mums and banana pieces. I know I need to start doing more, but I want to take a CPR/Heimlich class first. At least review the basics with a youtube video or something. I am terrified that something would happen and I won't be able to help.

He is teething but no actual teeth. I give him purées but also soft/mashed foods. No issues here. Fat boy likes to eat.

They posted a cute video link for this on the parenting board... Will try to link
