Alright ladies, Tell me what is the longest stretch your LO is going without eating? I'm down to one 4am feed than back down for a few hours. Bedtime bottle at 6:30pm.
My Baby411 book says at 6 months, most can go 12 hours without eating at night.
I've tried weeding out if it's habit or true hunger and I do think it's hunger (or maybe hungry because she is so use to eating at that time?!).
12 month well child check isn't for ~3 weeks so will ask then too.
Used to be one wake up between 2/3 am before she was sick but lately it's been between 1/2 am. I need to wean her again but she usually only nurses for a few minutes. I know she can go overnight but I think it's more of a habit / comfort thing. She's usually down by 7pm then up anywhere from 6-7 am.
12-13 hours over here. Last sippy cup with dinner around 6:00 and then off to bed till 7 am. If he repeatedly wakes up screaming I'll give him one in the middle of the night, but i would say that's only when he's sick. He's been going 12 hours since he was about 4 months. We never breastfed though( never quite worked out for us), pumped for about 4 months, but was always bottle fed. Always did formula before bed too.

My LO usually goes about 12-13 hours between her last bottle and her first one when she wakes up in the morning. She has gone for longer stretches when she has been sick and just needed the rest, but 12-13 is the norm for her.

I'm lucky to get the rare 10 hour stretch at night. Most nights he can go 9 hours without eating (boob at 7 then good til 3) but lately I can't even get a 6 hour stretch of him sleeping at night. I'm going on hour 4 of trying to get ds to sleep and I'm pissed and exhausted. I had him asleep, DH woke him and failed to get him back to sleep. I just let him scream (because he doesn't cry) it out for 30 minutes and I've got a migraine and had to grab him so he'd stop.
It used to be 10-11 hours as early as three months old but lately we've regressed to 6-7 hours. I blame the teething and major developmental leaps he is currently going through.
We go 12-13 hours at night. Once DD is in bed we don't go in her room at all until 7am when it's time to get her up (unless of course there is special reason like she's sick).
Thank you all for your responses. I think she should be able to go the whole 11.5 hour stretch she sleeps but doesn't seem to be there yet (especially since she only drinks ~4oz at 4am). Maybe I will try to wean her off in a few weeks.

bebeski how much are bottles during the day? DS only drinks 4oz bottles at a time. I started the night time weaning by still going in to comfort him when he woke up but not offering to nurse until it had been a half hour and he still wasn't comforted.
It takes time and patience from all parties involved but you can do it! Maybe your LO will automatically just sleep all night one night.

I'm a big fan of if they're waking up at different times they're probably hungry, if it's consistently the exact same time then it's probably routine. That's how we always approached this & LO varied his time a lot so I always fed him. Recently we've had a couple weeks where he went several nights in a row of 12 hours & then one random night (last night) where he wakes up hungry. I will also add that this directly correlates with when he started eating a real dinner within an hour before bed. His bottles haven't increased at all.
lakecountrygal - bottles are ~5oz; bedtime is a little more if she doesn't eat well.
I totally agree with an increase in solids (especially at dinner) = better sleep. But I have a crappy solid food eater unfortunately. I did notice one night when she ate way more solids than usual, she slept through til 5am, cried out for a second then went back to sleep til 6:30am.
Hopefully she keeps eating better/more at dinner so this can hold her through.
Ethan goes down between 6-7 and we feed and change him at 8/9 when James goes to bed (or before we go to bed for the night at 10/11) sometimes he takes a bottle sometime not. Up at 6:30 on the dot.

Very true...that is why I am hesitating trying to wean it out. I would think she could make up the 4oz through out the day but dang she just doesn't want to yet

I agree - which is why we never forced it. When he does it on his own, we celebrate. But if he wakes up & fusses for more than a couple of minutes it usually means he's hungry & so we feed him. We don't however wake him up to eat or anything like that

Well *we* dont wake him up when his brother goes to bed.. his brother kinda does that.
Now if we dont change his diaper than we end up with a load of laundry by the AM

threetaboos does he eat dinner? And do you think it's the co-sleeping? When do you think you'll try crib transitioning? (Not at all meant to sound critical if it does - just genuine questions, but I hope you know that by now
