Hi all! I've read through all of the posts. Pumping at work is hard. This is my second day, and I find that I'm thinking a lot about pumping or spending a lot of time doing it! I think as we all adjust it will get easier. I'm also not producing much, which stinks, but hopefully it gets better with more time pumping.
Re: House of Cards. We're on episode 2 of the new season...I also feel like it started out slow, hope it gets more interesting soon!
npg1982 Lots of coffee, make-up, extra time for everything, and keep a tissue handy! For me, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Good luck!
zengal and pixie523 I'm a big laugher and DH not so much. Occasionally I'll do something that makes him laugh, but when I go to do it again- nothing. Tough to please like his daddy.
Today has been rough, either he's cat napping or screaming and crying. Currently he is sleeping on my chest and I'm basically not even breathing so this nap can last.

npg1982,Seconding the tissues. You just won't be able to help it. This is my 5th week back and I still get teary eyed, it sucks so much, but it does get a little easier.

littleapplemom - Not technically a SAHM. I work from home & lo will be watched by BIL a few hours a day. As for vacation, I work for a European company with generally crappy benefits, except I've been there so long my PTO got grandfathered in & I still get all of it when I get back from leave. We have a use it or lose it policy. So I have until 12/31 to use it up each year.
npg1982 it gets easier with time! I did a few trial days and those were actually harder for me. I think it was because when I'm at work I'm actually doing something and can't be with her. If that makes since?
calimomof1 it is hard! I'm starting my second week at work and Im starting to get in a better routine but it's time consuming. Looking at pictures of your LO can help with let down. There is also a lot of advice on the breastfeeding board if you haven't been there before.
jjh1119 I hope your LO had a good nap and you were able to hold it until he woke up ? I'm glad I'm not the only one that's happened to.
sadie74 thanks he slept for two hours total that nap. I was able to hold it in, but barely lol. Winky face works if you do semi colon and parenthesis, but not the emoji lol
Got home from work today and got LO in position the breastfeed her. She shrieked with excitement! Yes, shrieked! How sweet and cute and adorable and loving and EVERYTHING is that?!
calimomof1 that's absolutely adorable!! LO has kicked and got excited but no shriek.
I haven't done much research about the wonder weeks but I'm going to do some more. In the meantime... You ladies who the app do you find it accurate and helpful?
Ugh. I'm getting so anxious about going back to work and pumping. This is my last full week of maternity leave and then I'm heading back next Wednesday. Currently stuffing Trader Joe's chocolate cat cookies into my face to curb my anxiety.
No full-on baby laugh here yet either. More like excited wheezing.
For those of you watching House of Cards—I haven't started this season yet but my brother already watched the whole thing. He said it's a slow burn but worth it in the end

The wonder weeks app is okay, but I found just as much info online. It's only a couple dollars though, so if you don't want to hunt for info, it's worth it. It doesn't have a lot of the info that the book does. I was hoping for more.
pixie523ladybird your brother is right. It is a slow burn but it does end with a bang. We just powered through the last couple of episodes tonight. I will say it's not my favorite season but season 4 is set up to be very interesting...

Add me to the acne and hair falling out clubs. Pisses me off! I never got the fantastic pregnancy hair, and now I could knit an afghan with everything left in the shower.
I don't want to jinx things, but night three of Pips in her crib when scary good. I stopped flipping her back over onto her back and let her sleep on her tummy (which nearly killed me at first). But she seemed to be happy, and she slept for 7 and 1/2 hours. She's slept that long before, but while in the co-sleeper she'd thrash around. She never woke up, mainly because I'd cram a paci back in her face before she could, but last night was all on her own. Knock on wood that tonight will be similar.
