DH makes three times the dishes I do, I don't understand it! He does eat three times a day here so that part I get but somehow when he is gone we do way less dishes. I'd say once every day and half.
I never feel like i have enough dishes dirty at the same time to actually use the dishwasher. I usually wash dishes once or twice a day by hand. Its weird bc there arent enough for the dishwasher but if i dont wash them by hand id run out of forks or something.

I really try to do them after every meal, plus if I can, do some while I'm cooking. I can't stand dishes just sitting in the sink. Apparently it doesn't bother DH in the least. I've been also trying to do one load of laundry every other day, just so it doesn't pile up either.
I don't have a dishwasher, so I'll be over here sulking in the corner...
The best thing I've found is to make sure your cookware is versatile. I don't have a single piece of cookware that can't go from stove-top to oven. No plastic handles and only have non-stick surfaces that can handle high oven temps, cuts down on the transferring of food. I have an enamelled cast iron dutch oven that I can cook everything in and I love it. Also, if you don't have 15 pans, you won't need to clean 15. See if you can scale down your collection.
We probably run our dishwasher every other day. And a lot of times I don't think it is completely full though- like the bottom will be full, so my h will run it when the top isn't full. But on top of that, we have a bunch of stuff we hand wash (pump parts, bottles) and those get washed every day.

Every other day or sometimes every 3 days during the week. I wash a number of things by hand (LOs lunch dishes being the most notable), and LO just uses the same dishes that we do, so there aren't too many from that. On the weekends it's every other day or every day because everybody has all their meals at home.
Back when we lived in our condo and didn't have a dishwasher, we only had service for four in terms of plates. Made doing dishes regularly a requirement, as you likely needed them for the next meal.
I'm super picky about what goes in the dishwasher. I hand wash all pots, pans, knives, large bowls, all of D's dishes and bakeware. I HATE dishes in the sink so I am at the sink constantly. I probably run the dishwasher 2 times a week.

I feel like this describes my philosophy apart from we do run the dishwasher a bit more frequently. The weekends when everybody is home eating all meals I for the most part feel like I spend all day in the kitchen cleaning up.
Every day, to every other day. The top is always full, but the bottom is rarely full. Those kid dishes take up tons of room and can only go on top and I feel like she goes through so many!

I hate doing dishes. My answer would skew it. While Living with my parents, we probably run the dishwasher once a day. When I lived in my own, maybe once every 2-4 days.
DH always used to be in charge of the dishes for the most part. I would keep up with them during the day as best I could, but then he would do the dinner dishes and get the dishwasher going if it was ready. He usually did them after I went to bed because he stays up much later than me. I'm not really sure when he stopped, but it seems like 95% of the time in the past few weeks I have woken up to a kitchen full of dirty dishes (ok, a bit of an exaggeration.) Of course, I then wash them all. I think DH and I need to have a chat.
