Bloat and muscle spasms post D&C

Holy bloated belly! It's been only 5 days since my D&C and I thought I was feeling pretty good physically until today. My belly is HUGE and I've been having these painful muscle spasms that are a bit concerning. I've never experienced quick, sharp pain like this before. I've had milder versions during my period at times, but it's happened at least 10 times today. It starts around my pelvic floor (I guess you'd call it that, down the bottom) and then just shoots up like a vine all through my ute and takes my breath away. No bleeding has increased, in fact I've barely had any since the procedure. Not too much period type cramping either, it's been very mild until now. Has anyone else experience this? And what the hell is up with the bloat? As if the loss wasn't enough punishment, now I get to look more pregnant that I ever have?

At any rate I'm starting the Fast Metabolism Diet tomorrow which I've done before and love so hopefully that'll help. Ain't no way I'm packing on 10-15 lbs each cycle. F that noise right out the door. I'm sure all the hormones still lingering in me are going to make it more difficult. Anybody else with me? or need some motivation?

I didn't have the same symptoms, but maybe 2 weeks after my natural MC was labeled 'complete,' I started having severe lower back pain. It lasted off and on for about 4 days, and I treated with Tylenol PM and a heating pad. I was confused because it seemed so after the fact, but my doctor said it was normal and just my uterus returning to regular size.

Ugh, that does not sound fun at all. Hope the diet helps today! I noticed a bit of bloat initially, but I'm almost 2 weeks out and it's basically gone. (The flab from no exercise and crappy eating remains)

I was bloated for awhile too. I also had odd pains that sound a bit like yours. They came and went, and now are mostly just in the bottom as you say. It tends to come before ovulation and AF. I asked my doctor about it and she wasn't worried, but it never hurts to call and make sure.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. I have some major bloat going on as well. I look move pregnant than I ever did. I'm only spotting now and I haven't had any cramping yet today but still have some yesterday. I've also had some new back pain. I hope this all passes quickly for both of us.

Well I'm waiting on the nurse to call me back. These pains are like contractions and are more frequent today. Maybe there's something left over my body is trying to pass.... I would take a pain killer but they make me puke.

Sorry you are dealing with that. I definitely was bloated for a while, and it took a while for my body to feel "normal" again. I'm glad you called about the pains, though. Hopefully they can see you and check it out for your peace of mind. GL!

The nurse called me back. She talked to the dr and he said sometimes this can happen and to call if it gets worse. Said to take Advil or Alleve. I just took Advil and a xanex he had prescribed me. That seems to help relax me.
