Had a pretty good weekend. I'm off today, H is working, daycare is closed. My plan is to meet a friend for coffee, take DS to a park and then meet H for lunch in the city (SF). Good luck to all with Drs appts today.
I am awkward, so I'm just gonna intro (re-intro, whatever) here.
I'm currently in twin limbo. Early ultrasound saw two babies, but one had a small fetal pole and slow heartbeat. In full time anxiety mode until my next ultrasound.
I'm about to eat lunch. I'm really proud that I made it to 11:00. That's definitely lunch time, right?
((hugs)) and FX for you next u/s. Is it soon, I hope?
11am is definitely not too early to eat. Elevenses! I'm working on second breakfast at the moment.
Her husband already had two grand-daughters when they met. She consider them as her own grand-child, but ours will be her first biological one.
This is kind of like my mom. I have two half-siblings (from my dad's first marriage) and they both have given my parents grand-kids, but this baby will be my mom's first biological grandkid, so I'm sure she's going to freak out.
I'm at work today and other than the exhaustion feel pretty good. But the insomnia on top of being tired is getting old. It took me forever to fall asleep last night, then I felt like I tossed and turned all nigh. I may have to get some Unisom to keep on hand for occasions where it gets really bad. I will take the insomnia and exhaustion over MS any day though.
I need to get my ass to the gym today, especially considering how shitastic I ate this weekend ... But my boobs hurt so damn much - Just the thought of squeezing them in my workout bras makes me want to puke.

My little brother was dating a woman with a young child for a long time. I think my mom enjoyed the kiddo, but I just don't think it was the same for her.
My mom adores all of my nieces and nephews and I know for a fact that she has no doubt in her mind that they are her grandkids, even if they're not blood related. But, there will always be that unspoken connection that my mom will have with my kids, I'm sure.
It's kind of the same with my maternal grandmother. She keeps telling me that I need to have babies before she dies so she can hold a great-grandchild. The only thing is... my youngest cousin has two kids already! But, he was adopted and very estranged from our family (she hasn't seen my cousin in over a decade, wasn't invited to his wedding, and has only seen photos of his kids), so we think that she doesn't see his kids as her true great-grandkids. It's a bit sad, but when you're old, you get to say mean things, right?
Yes! And needless to say I am so happy that it never got any worse and went away. Thank you for checking in on me! I have been having issues with my laptop and the mobile app, so hopefully I will have them worked out soon so I don't have to take breaks from the board during the weekend.

My DD is at daycare, and isn't feeling well. The daycare provider doesn't mind, I just feel terrible for my daughter. Luckily, DH is getting out of work early, and he's going to take her to the doctors.
Also, DH meets my MIL halfway on Tuesday mornings to drop of DD. Well she won't have a car tomorrow, so she wants us to drop her off tonight. I feel bad having her sleep there when she isn't feeling well.
I have another u/s today to check progress. I'm trying not to get anxious about it. But...I am in my 7th week and haven't spotted m/c'ed yet, which is a milestone for me.
Hi ladies. Hope you're weekends were great. (I never have the time to check in on the boards over the weekend. Clearly life at work it much more manageable than home for me).
Good luck at the ultrasounds today @gothefawktosleep and sandj918.
oh, and I'm totally jealous of all of you who have the day off.

It's my normal day off but my husband has today off as well! I'm excited because we don't have days off together normally. We're going to go to target some time today and that might be it. Don't care just glad to spend time together.
I'm at work and my DS is at daycare. I'm trying not to barf my guts out but I'm not sure how long im going to be able to hold it in. I don't know what my boss ate for lunch but the smell ugh! I might fake an illness for my DS at daycare and leave early.
I bought a Bella band at Target yesterday and I might start using it soon. That bloat is ridiculous. Last night, I was laying in my bed and I thought for sure that my belly was going to explode.

I had to wear my maternity leggings yesterdy ... I know I'm not showing but with the bloat even my regular leggings are uncomfortably tight . So why not !
There's a massage school down the street from my office that gives 60-min massages for $25. I know I can't get an actual massage, but I would legit go and pay the $25 just to lay on the table in a quiet room and sleep for an hour. I wonder if they'd let me. Like a nap service.

I'm at work trying to keep my stomach in line. I wasn't able to keep anything down yesterday but today I was able to do some Ritz crackers and a yogurt.
All I want to do is go home and go to bed but I have to go to my friends "Buy these cleaning supplies" party. If I bail she'll be pissed.

What's the issue with regular massage while pregnant? Assuming they aren't mashing, rubbing your stomach is it because it releases a lot of lactic acid?

It's just in the first tri. Some people argue that there are pressure points that can trigger early labor (or miscarriage), but there's no serious evidence in scientific literature that I'm aware of that there's an actual risk. Most places just won't give one to avoid the liability issue. And to be safe, even in later trimesters a masseuse certified in prenatal massage is recommended - they are taught to avoid those pressure points.
We would have been doing this too if my parents weren't visiting. I really want to go to a movie, I don't even care what I see.
Sent from my SM-G900P using proboards
That's exactly what we are doing. We get to go to the movie theater like 3 times a year these days!
I wish I could do this! But I am the child care. The one downside to my job... My husband forgot his office was closed today, went to work, and didn't realize it until almost 10! He better come home this afternoon because our child is being a beast today and I don't know if I'll survive...

Good luck to people with appointments today! I'm at work and wishing I could be home in bed. MS has hit with a vengeance and I'd love to hold anything other than water down. Any other teachers battling MS in the classroom? I don't know how I'm going to keep it up.
Good luck to everyone with appointments today! My oldest DS is home from school for the holiday today, so we're sharing a HUGE plate of nachos, and are contemplating our second snack.
