I have been mostly failing at the fitness thing. I think now that dd can go to the daycare at our gym I have no excuse not to go. I really thought buying the largest size pants I ever have might motivate me but so far it hasn't. Sorry for being a terrible buddy jesslynnsell
Do you have an exersaucer or activity center? Sunny will sit in there and play/watch me for about an hour while I work out using videos. She seems to find it amusing and if I look at her or make faces while I move around, she laughs like it's the greatest thing.

We do. DD likes being in it so really I just need to suck it up and do it.

It's hardest to get started. But, after the first week, it's waaaaaay better!!!

americanninjamommy Thanks!!! You are totally an awesome buddy too!! I honestly went to the gym one night after reading one of your messages when I wouldn't have otherwise.
I'm down some lbs which is encouraging. I think meal planning and eating veggies at every meal is helping a ton. I'm doing so-so with getting to the gym. Harrison only lasts about a half hour in their daycare because there's so many kids they basically just have to set him in an exersaucer and manage the madness. But I've started going once he goes to bed on the days I don't make it in with him. I have vacation in 39 days so I'm really need to put it into high gear now.
I'm on week 2 of 30 day shred... I haven't been eating much better besides breakfast. I ate poptarts every morning for like 2 months. I just don't have the motivation to change my diet

This is how I felt when I started exercising back in January. I decided that just exercising would be a whole lot more than I was currently doing. I got frustrated when 2 months again, I had actually gained weight because I had gained muscle. I could see that I had muscles but there was a lot of squish on top. I just decided a few weeks ago that I was ready to start introducing some diet changes.
All I'm saying is, it's fine to take one thing at a time. Exercise is a big step in the right direction! When you're ready to work on your diet, you will! Just enjoy the success that you're having a pat yourself on the back.

No worries sabby2 I've been a terrible buddy as well. I was hoping to get more workouts in over Spring Break, but have been failing hard. I'm DEFINITELY going to run tomorrow!
In other news, my chiropractor recommended NOT running. I don't really like running anyway. Guess this means I need to get my 30 day shred or Blogilates on.

Thanks for the encouragement lads.
I wish someone would ban me from running
Well, medically speaking, running is really quite hard on the body. It's good for cardiovascular health, but it doesn't work all of the muscles. You could get as much, if not more, benefit from full body workouts that mix aerobic exercise and strength training.
In other words, if a patient said they were trying to get more exercise, I would almost never recommend running. So if you'd like, I will issue a ban hammer and say no running for you! But then you would have to find another way to get your exercise in.

Exactly. Running is hard on joints so he recommended exactly what you said.
apk4 To strengthen the core, do planks any time that DS/DD does tummy time.
So I've totally fallen off the wagon for various reasons. To sum it all up, I'm just pooped! But swim classes start soon so let that be my motivation.
In the end, did we end up with an O14 fitbit group? Maybe we can do a weekend challenge to up our steps?
kellrr Thanks for being the best buddy ever! I'm really good at suggesting things for you to do LOL I promise that I will be better!
Sunny loves when I do planks and pushups with her under me. I kiss her and make faces and it's fun for her too! Start on your knees so you don't fall on her. Just keep your back straight and your butt down!

So today is another P90x and Nutri Ninja infomercial morning to stay healthy! In all seriousness, I did work out and had a healthy breakfast and toping things off by watching these infomercials while I try to power pump for the next hour

FFSC, I totally used to do this. Every morning after DH went to work I would watch a couple of hours of workout infomercials and it would motivate me to workout and eat better throughout the day. My favorites were Insanity and Brazil Butt Lift. I eventually bought Insanity and I did the pencil test from BBL just for fun. This was years ago when I was actually in pretty decent shape but I still failed miserably! I guess my butt could use a lift lol

The channel then moved on to a Jillian Michael's program and then T25. I guess beach weather is closer than we think. Time to get serious about working out.
(I'm not a total couch potato... I left the TV on while I picked up around the house so I did not watch the rest of the programs.)
I fell off the wagon hard last week because I was sick, but this week I'm back at it! I'm going to mix in some agility to my cardio for funsies, and I think I'm going to replace my lunch with a protein shake. This will not last long because I do not enjoy those things, but might help jump start a week of weight loss.
How's weight watchers treating everyone who's on it?

I am right there with you at doing a meal replacement shake or bar or something. I have been tossing that idea around for a week and I just need to get the goods. I've been doing ok at everything still, but I want to do better!! I have seen some movement on the scale, but not much as far as losing inches which is much more important to me.
I did ok, despite my travels. Yesterday, to push my myself a bit, we walked with baby and all out luggage to long-term parking, which is about a mile! It actually felt good after all that sitting on the plane. I also danced around at the gate with DS and walked some laps since he was restless. This week, I want to step up the cardio. I also need to get serious about avoiding the garbage. We still have Easter candy and Girl Scout cookies, and I think I need to send them to work with DH to get them out of my house!
Weight Watchers is going well! The extra 14 points from breastfeeding is great. I can tell when I've eaten too much (still within my limits) by how I feel, though. That has helped me to make better choices.
Working out has been so so. My mom is still here and she is constantly telling me I don't need to work out. (LIES) Then she goes to bed at 7, so I'm stuck with DS. Dependent on his mood, I either get to work out or I get to walk around and try to get him to quit crying and go to sleep. All in all, I think I ran 8.5 miles last week? Nothing spectacular by any means, but it's better than nothing.
Also, spurp13 gave me some good advice and I've been able to run full miles without walking! I use to run a bit, and then walk a bit, etc. Now I can run almost two without any walking!
ETA: "Stuck with" sounds bad. He's my kid and I love him and I'm never "stuck" with him. It's just early mornings and nights are the times I would like a little help and those are the times I don't get any.
I have not exercised in like 2 weeks :(My plan is to get back to it tomorrow night. Today will be impossible. Also my mom is coming into town for a week next week, so I think it will be a little easier to take 30-60 minutes a day next week for some me time to exercise. Though I havnt exercised I have been closer to hitting my step goals every day, so that is something. My weight has crept up a few pounds so I really need to get back at it.
I also have some healthier meals lined up. Yesterday we tried the chicken buffalo salad recipes that TheMooseIsLoose, posted a few weeks back from the Hungry girl. It was actually pretty good!
I have been doing good over here. A few weeks ago I gained 5lbs from not really eating so I guess my body was eating itself because I wasn't giving it food. This past week I've lost 4 of those lbs. I have definitely noticed my face has thinned out, my shoulders are a lot more defined. I did before and after pictures and I can definitely see a change but I'm not quite where I want to be yet.
I've been doing pretty well (other than the running) and I think I'll be eating healthier once I finish off the rest of the Easter candy - HA!
I think I may also need to just get out and buy a jogging stroller because that's my biggest excuse I've been using for not running. Now if only I didn't have such pricy taste...
