How would you like to see your board's moderation needs covered?

If global mods are regs here and in good standing (wordsy, for example), we don't necessarily need two additional mods. The practice on GBCN seems to be that global mods generally stick to a home board, but can be paged if another board's regular mod is unavailable.

I don't think you can through the app. But you can on the mobile website.

We are working on this right now. It is taking some time to work out the bugs, but our hope is that we can since we have so many mobile posters.

It will be. On Wednesday morning, this pole comes down and is replaced by a Nomination thread if the board decides to elect board mods. 

Based on who is nominated and how many mods the board wants (and who accepts the noms), the election pole will go up.

I happen to agree with you. We have been fucked around with for an awfully long time and made promises and blah blah blah only to find that the actual implementation is less than stellar and WAY less than advertised. 

My personal intention is (and my general feeling is that most others are feeling the same way) is to make this place what we always hoped the Voldeboard would be under management that actually understood its market audience. 

I know we are in the honeymoon phase. And I in no way think that this place will be without bumps and hiccups as we figure shit out. But, GBCN gives me a ton of hope. I promise that the ad hoc group of Mods and Admins (the ones I have interacted with and spoken to) want this place to open to feedback and change as directed by the community.

I am sure you have @hilarityensued because you go everywhere, but please comment on the Mod Description and Process post if there are things you want to say about modding in general. I wrote it with input and other readers, but I seriously drafted it over two days in between naps and meals and laundry based on my grand notion of what this place could be.  If you think we missed something important or need clarification, by all means let's talk about it. 

Because fuck censorship and not having a say in the important stuff. 

Well, I didn't mean this to be so long—I clearly have feelings. 

TL;DR: Wordsy, NariaDreaming, theophania, and the other mods are serious about wanting feedback. It is not just lip service.

Yes, when the pole in place ends, we will replace with a nomination thread on the boards choosing to elect mods. Then, we replace that one with a voting pole made up of the nominated folks who accepted the nom.

Right, but we need to have a say in who mods us. I would be fine with wordsy, but she can't and shouldn't have to be here all the time to watch out for us. So if anyone else is going to moderate our board, we are going to pick who that is.

Right, I should have clarified - if wordsy puts her name in for election and we vote her in, we wouldn't need 2 additional mods, just one.

Just FYI, I plan on staying a Global Mod if NariaDreaming will have me. My job limits my daytime bumping (though the app really helps with lunchtime and planning period fun), but I will be around in the evenings, weekends, and allllll summer.

I feel like I have something to offer to the community, but probably not a individual board moderator. I have also made it known to Naria that I agreed to help her get this started and will continue if needed, but if not needed, I am happy to be a reg.

That said, Parenting will always be my home board. If I remain a Global Mod, I will gladly back up anyone you elect when needed.
