There was so much to get caught up on here! Sending positive thoughts to everyone
So yesterday when I was groggy and they told me they retrieved 15 eggs, I heard wrong and it was actually 16! Just got call from my dr. Out of the 16, 15 were mature and 14 were fertilized! We did ICSI. So we are looking at a 5 day transfer on Saturday. At that time we will find out how many quality embryos there are and how many we'll transfer. Started Endometrin this morning and will do Prometrium tonight (yuck).

I guess I'm all set to start stims tomorrow since I didn't get a call from the RE today. Now I'm all nervous about the injections but am excited I get to keep plowing forward!
BunnyBerry sorry that you had to be on this roller coaster. I hope your next cycle go smoothly.
I went in for another ultrasound and blood work today. The nurse called and said that I am at risk for high risk OHSS and need to start prepping for it. There are more than 20 measurable follicles and many more that will continue to grow. They are having we continue on medication and come in for daily monitoring, since lead follicles are not large enough yet.
For those who have experience OHSS, other than Gatorade is there anything else I can do?
Lots of protein. Take it easy on yourself! That's about it for mild/moderate OHSS I know of... It took me about 5 days to start to feel like myself again, a week before I could get back to anything resembling a normal schedule. I tried going back to work too early -- big mistake! Take whatever time you need if you do tip over to OHSS. Good luck!

Congrats to all those with great fert reports! So exciting Tomorrow I go in for another u/s and more b/w in the hopes that they'll tell me I'm ready to trigger on Thursday. My numbers arent as high as a lot of others but they're getting there. It seems like some of you had more eggs retrieved than follicles counted, is that normal? Oh and I'm really starting to get nervous about the trigger shot. Definitely icing the crap out of my butt beforehand!!
So sorry to keep popping in and out. Working two jobs to pay for all the IVF stuff makes me super busy!
Just got the call from the office. Of the 7 fertilized eggs, 4 are 8-cell A quality. 3 are 6-cell A quality. This is good right? Lol I havent had much time to look into this!
Update for me: Had my ER today. I ended up with 21 eggs This is a bit more than they were expecting, so they are a little worried about overstimulation. Frankly I don't know how I feel about having that many pulled. We'll see tomorrow what the update is, and how many are good. And hopefully my body stays nice and quiet this week.
kristin1k GL on Thursday! I hope you get to trigger, I know you're tired of stimming. I had 2 more retrieved than were visible on my last U/S. The ultrasound is a 2D picture of a 3D object, so it makes sense that they might see more that were hiding once they aspirate a few follies. Don't worry too much about the numbers (easier said than done, I know)!
kbrooke06 I am new to the whole IVF thing, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't get better than A quality! Congrats on your rockstar embies!
@dyork Whoa! Lots of Gatorade and protein for you, too. I hope you get a good update tomorrow!
Sorry I am late to the party! I am still on BCP until Saturday. I had my endometrial scratch yesterday, which wasn't as bad a I thought. I start meds on Thursday. I am looking forward to getting things going!!!
QOTD - I have a purple tech21 case. I am a purple fanatic!!!
kbrooke06 - Sounds like your 7 eggs are doing well. The 6 cells may do better in the next day or two. Was that your 3 day report or 5 day report on eggs?
@dyork - 21 eggs? Holy crap, that's a lot. Can I have some? I hope you take it easy and aren't in a lot of pain over the next couple of days. I hope you get some great numbers of matured and fertilized eggs.
Forgot to answer the QOTD: Purple/teal phone cover.
Hi Ladies ~ our fert report is in and we're not very happy, unfortunately. Of the 8 retrieved, only 5 were mature...and of those 5, only 2 fertilized normally (2PN)...they are watching the other 3 (0PN) through day three to see if they cleave since there's a *chance* they could have missed seeing the transient PN appearance. We did have one 0PN last cycle and that cleaved...so...ugh. We really hope our rainbow baby is in this batch somewhere! I am still a big believer that it only takes one, because it does. Just wish our odds were better, as we all do. If this cycle doesn't result in a BFP, it will be one heck of a WTF with my RE as far as protocol tweaks, etc. And I reaaaallly wish we could test DH's sperm : / to at least narrow down whether our biggest issue is egg quality or sperm quality without having to test that theory with DS or DE. To "celebrate" this news, DH and I just made a batch of frozen mudslides in the Vitamix we bought to make healthy smoothies in That being said, we are grateful that two (that we know of) fertilized normally and many aren't fortunate enough to get that news sometimes...hugs to all!
Tag @maddiechan ~ thanks for following up with me today! I'm soooo excited for you and your great fert report! My 2 embies want to have a play date with your 14 embies, ha!
SunnyinCA Ha I wish I could just share my eggs. On the plus side, if this cycle goes well, I will have a ton of meds I can donate. I still have 2 full boxes of Menopur and 3 boxes of Gonal-F, and of course an endless amount of needles.

Congrats on being PUPO @cokiebear! k1111k I'm sorry you didn't get a better report, trust me I know how it feels. Fx that those two turn out to be perfect embies for your rainbow baby! You only need one!
kristin1k they saw 12-13 at my U/S Thursday and retrieved 16. Idk if it's normal but makes sense some can be hiding.
k1111k sorry it wasn't what you hoped, but 2 is still ok! Like you said, it only takes one. Maybe things will change in next few days. Did they say when ET is? And I think I can use a mudslide too! Sounds yummy!!!
Thanks, maddychan ~ We are planning a freeze-all (and hope we get to) since we need to grow out to Blastocyst Day 5/6/7 for CCS testing. They can't do any tests on DH's sperm because they use TESA to retrieve it (aspirated directly from his testicles) and that sperm is immature, unlike mature sperm they can test by using techniques like DNA frag and PICSI, etc. We started our journey because of severe MFI and now that I've grown older, we have some odds against us for sure.

I feel so behind! BunnyBerry I'm sorry you got cancelled! nomnom those are some fab looking betas. How many did you transfer again? @k111k I'm sorry your fert report wasn't what you hoped.
Ok, that was mostly what I caught. I saw that the other place burned itself down and I'm going to go read about that. *scurries off*

Crap k1111k. I'm so sorry for your bad news. I've been thinking about you since October and really rooting for you this time around. I was so thrilled for your 8 eggs. I think it's great, though, that you are staying optimistic. It absolutely only takes one. And I will be sending tons of positive thoughts your way in the next couple days. FX these two little fighters do what they need to.
Also, I absolutely love my vitamix! I've used it for plenty of smoothies and soups. But my DH and I also make the banana cream pie smoothie from their recipe book and it's so good...heavy cream, graham crackers, ice cream....yum! Enjoy your mudslides. They sound fabulous!
BunnyBerry All the hugs. Sorry for the rollercoaster. I'm glad you have some supports in place. I hope that if you decide to proceed with IVF, you'll be able to come up with a plan that you're comfortable with. Also, keep in mind that 20 frosties would be a very unusual result, and even if you had a large number of frosties, not all would necessarily be of sufficient quality to implant (my RE's office estimates only 30-70% of blasts are normal, depending on the patient's age).

whoops forgot my own update: monitoring appointment this morning, 3 visible follies at 1.0/1.1. Most likely I'll be back Friday. Off to a good start! The nurse told me to stop worrying about my high E2 and said the RE is not concerned.

lilycakes78 ~ I responded to you last night but guess I forgot to hit send since I don't see it now? Whoops! Thank you for the well wishes, I truly appreciate it! And up the banana cream pie smoothie sounds soooooooo good! And you'll have to try the mudslide before your upcoming FET since you won't be able to drink for 9 months afterwards
maddychan ~ thanks again! Looking forward to hearing your updates
