Oh my goooooooood. I have had a bad weekend. It all started with my DD getting fever Saturday morning. Not a huge issue as kids get fevers every now and then. But she had also been having a nagging cough for a few days as well. So as the day goes on, she gets more sluggish and fatigued. Her nose is dripping and she's complaining of a tummy ache. I give her some Motrin and put her to bed. Sunday comes along and she is feeling worse. No appetite, not playing and not wanting to drink much either.
So I decide I will call the Dr first thing in the morning (today). Late afternoon yesterday, she throws up. A LOT. I asked H if there looked like there was a little blood in it cause I saw some bright red mixed in. We both assumed it was the Tylenol or Gatorade I had given her.
So we all go to sleep fair early. She wakes me up at 1am having s coughing fit and crying that she "doesn't want to throw up". I ran her to the toilet and she starts coughing and gagging so hard that her face turned purple. Finally, out comes a glob of bright red blood. She does it again like 4 more times. I freak TW fuck out and call the on call nurse who says to go ahead and take her to the ER.
Soooooo, after a whole night in the ER, they determined that she has a respiratory infection on top of strep throat and all the swallowing of the mucous was making her nauseou which in turn had her throwing up and the force of the throwing up with the cough was causing her inflamed, raw tonsils to bleed. I couldn't even imagine the pain that poor child felt.
Soooo, that was my weekend (and MLK day). Luckily, she was playing a little tonight and getting her attitude back. Joy. Now I need to focus on getting my N00b status changed ASAP.
Hope you all had a great MLK day!
TL;DR Daughter was in ER for throwing up blood. Ended up strep on top of respiratory infection. Wished everyone a happy MLK day. Need to post more.
