1. Cleaning 2. Dissertation 3. Laundry 4. Groceries 5. Thank you notes... from my baby shower. Dear God. If I can get them done in the next two months it'll be done before a year has gone by. 6. Get DS's birth certificate
I'm sure there are other things...
Ah fuck me I still need to order DS's birth certificate.
I mean DS1, born 2 1/2 years ago. DS2 probably should get one too.
Maybe I'll get on that shit before they start Kindergarten.

Clean our room - clean out the closest Clean Brooke's room - go through too small clothes and divide up to be given away t our 3 friends that had a baby girl or are due Clean kitchen - cupboards - refrigerator - drawers - mop floors - clean appliances Clean dinning room - organize better - mop floors Clean living room - organize baby toys - dust - mop floors Bathroom - scrub toilet/sink/shower
All that and yet I'm laying on the couch watching last nights The Bachelor
My list is growing daily...I hate it (it's in no particular order):
1. sleep (DS has had a cold off and on for a month and doesn't sleep well) 2. schedule my spa day 3. get a haircut 4. Organize medical bills from 2014 for taxes 5. catch up on laundry 6. plan meals for the following week 7. deep clean everything 8. organize everything 9. take down tree 10. Finish at least ONE of my many knit/crochet/sewing/craft projects 11. Set up a dinner with my friends that I haven't seen in forever 12. do a hangout with brother and best friend 13. update baby book (before I forget stuff) 14. back up all photos
I'm sure none of this will get done - DH is going on a business trip - it's just one night, but it's going to throw DS off a lot - daddy always reads him a book at night.
My realistic list.
1. Make sure baby is happy and healthy 2. Feed self 3. Brush teeth (baby's too) 4. (optional) shower..... 5. Try not to be mean to DH eventhough I'm super tired
1. Thank you cards from Christmas 2. Changing out LO's clothing for the next size up 3. Organizing the pile of "too small" clothing in his closet 4. Filing 5. Organize the mess that is our pantry
It seems like every time I have a day where I could accomplish something, either I or LO get sick. I hate cold and flu season.
Maybe I'm just rude but to me Christmas is one event where thank you cards are not necessary. I mean it's the season of giving and receiving for all so everyone is going around giving and getting so it evens out in my book.

So I don't do TY cards like ever. I did them for our wedding and my baby shower and random gifts we got after Rodney was born. We opened gifts at his bday party so we said thank you there. No more is needed, IMO.
We do them for everything; my mom was pretty militant about it when I was growing up (to the point that she threw a colossal hissy when my cousin didn't write her one, and refuses to buy him gifts anymore), so I write them for every gift. PITA, but I feel guilty if I don't.
1. Clean our bedroom 2. Organize tax docs/start tax returns 3. Go through the bags of clothes my friend gave me for DS. 4. Go through old papers to see what needs to be filed, shredded, etc (mostly DH's). 5. Sterilize bottles since DS was sick.

I'm sure there's plenty more...
Oh crap, it's tax time. This thread is making my list so much longer!
1. Work on my work list at work. 2. Install new car seat in my car and put infant seat in DH's car. 3. Print pictures for my office at work. 4. Look up how to wean. 5. Call general contractor about moving back door and windows. 6. Get serious about building new deck for the Spring. 7. Create a living will.

I also do thank you cards for everything. +1 growing up with a mom who was militant about it. It's engrained in me now and I see it as a sign of respect; if someone put in the effort to buy me a gift, I can put in the effort to write a TY card.

lissiehoya if it makes you feel better I've never finished sending out the thank you notes... For my wedding! I'm a terrible person. But you know I had major surgery a month later, a baby to start ttc after healing from surgery and a dissertation to finish before said baby was born. At least that's what I tell myself.
Also regarding wills, we had ours drafted right after DD1 was born. We still haven't been back to finalize them. Oops.
I'm attempting to get serious about my list. I have 2-3 months before I start work and I realize my big stuff to-do list looks suspiciously unchanged in recent months.
We moved nearly 6 months ago and I still have a ton of boxes in the basement to unpack. Pictures to hang, things to get framed, closets to properly organize, clothes to sort for donation, childproofing, set up a meal planning & prep system....
Just getting through the daily stuff eats up so much time. And there are days when a nap is the most important thing.

I guess I'll be doing the kitchen floors and fridge tonight after work since my coffee creamer spilled open in the fridge and i really couldn't clean it up good before heading off to work!

FFWC - I haven't jotted down my list and haven't done a single thing on my mental list. Also, to me, it's not legitimate unless I write it down then cross it off.
We've been using my week off to get things done around the house but now with my injured knee, in not sure how much of it will get done.
✔1. Clean the kitchen ✔2. Vacuum and steam clean the floors (carpet and tile) ✔3. Vacuum inside and under the couch. ✔4. Dust! ✔5. Stain and finish wood slats for yard gate. Reassemble said gate. ✔6. Finish chopping up up branches that I lopped of the mesquite. Damn tree was getting to big. 6b. Take chopped branches to dump 6c. Take metal scraps to dump ✔6d. Remove weeds and spray 6e. Prune back monstrous sage. ✔7. Make pediatrician appointments for ds1 and DS2 for February. 8. Make vet appointment for dog. 9. Schedule appointment with counselor ✔10. Reschedule cpa ✔11. Submit plans to HOA for courtyard 12. Submit affidavit for ce credits 13. Buy Annie Sloan paint and wax for ds1's bed. 14. Paint and assemble bed. 15. Buy mattress and box springs 16. Buy ds1's birthday gift (plastic turtle sandbox thing) ✔17. Call handyman to finish installing the work bench my father was making for dh. 18. Clean garage ✔19. Wash car. 20. Exchange scarf at charming Charlies and buy new pants to replace what I tore.
