Hi Ladies! I don't know how I missed this check in! I have been lurking on this check in when it was on Voldemort but hadn't gotten up the nerve to participate, until now.
We are hoping to do IVF with ICSI #1 this summer if we can raise/save enough money. We are 100% OOP and bought a small business in '13 (prior to starting treatment) and sunk our life savings and retirement into it so we haven't had any savings to put into treatment. We are working hard at saving money and my family and friends have been contributing to our fund.
Many of you know my story but for those who don't: We knew we were probably on this path from the beginning of treatment but since my insurance partially covered three IUIs my RE said it couldn't hurt to give it a shot and cross our fingers for a miracle. I was dx with endo at 14 and during a lap at 23 we found out that my right ovary is not only the size of a softball but is also covered in scar tissue. My OB/GYN at the time, smartly choose to leave it alone as to not cause more problems. I was on continuous BCPs from 23 to 25 to try and prevent more damage from the endo but it didn't help that much because during my HSG when I was 33, it was discovered that my left tube is blocked. I held out hope that an egg could get through the scar tissue on my right ovary but after two medicated TIs and 3 IUIs (and one that was cancelled) we realized that wasn't going to happen. Oh, and did I mention I also have PCOS? My reproductive system is kind of a mess! DH is good though, so at least there's that!
For now, we try naturally every month and I take CoQ10, Pregnitude, PNVs, spearmint and follow everything in "It Starts with the Egg." I look forward to hanging out with you ladies and getting to know those who I don't already!
QOTW: I'd love to say something exotic but DH and I are dying to move to Montana! It sounds kinda weird to say that is my dream place to live, but it is!
Wow, I wrote a book! If you made it through, here's some cookies for your time:
