Welcome to the TCF: Cincinnati / NKY Board! We're happy you've found your way here, and glad to have you.
Some helpful tips and links for newcomers to the board before you dive in:
1. Read the TCF Mission Statement / TOU. It's important to know the site - wide Do's & Don'ts, and it's a short read. TOU can be found here: goodbyecb.proboards.com/thread/2193/mission-statement-terms-important-links
2. Take a look at the Glossary. We use A LOT of shorthand when we chat, and it's easy to get lost. Find it here: goodbyecb.proboards.com/thread/9588/gbcb-glossary-abbrevs
3. Lurk. Before you jump into the community, lurk for a couple of days. Get a feel for the type of community we have. When you're ready to come play with us, post an intro thread, and tell us a little bit about yourself.
a. We welcome you to participate in our community. With that in mind, because this is a local board and we often meet IRL, internet safety is a huge concern for us. Many of us have developed friendships and meet each other IRL, because of this we are protective of each other, our LO's, and this board. Please don't be offended if, at first, you are met with some skepticism, we want to get to know you better, but safety first, yo.
4. Unacceptable behavior (will earn you a warning or a ban, depending on the severity of your infraction):
a. Trolling. Do not come here being an ugly troll, troll, troll, trolling on the board. We don't like it. You will be banned.
b. Spam. Nobody likes being spammed. Don't do it. Established members are allowed to promote their personal business or blog; key word being ESTABLISHED members. Basically, if it looks like spam and feels like spam, it will be deleted, you will be warned. If it happens multiple times, you will be banned.
5. Be respectful and considerate. We have fun and like to cover all types of topics. We're not here to be the post police. Feel free to curse, vent, rant, post happy stories, funny topics, etc. However, be respectful and considerate of your fellow community members.
6. Hand in hand with the above (#5), if something is flame worthy, it will get flamed. Being flamed is not a reason to tattletale on fellow community members, or attempt to get a member warned or banned. If something gets out of hand, it will be dealt with appropriately; but be sure you can handle the heat if a topic or comment is flame worthy.
Again, welcome, and happy probing!
