My mom did a 'year of the sock' last year, which means she made a pair of socks a month. I wanna copy cat but I don't have the time to knit that many socks, so I'm going to aim for one sock a month, ie, 6 pairs.
I also want to rip apart my granny square afghan to salvage any squares that aren't falling apart and remake it into something I can use.
And, I want to make at least 1 sweater for DD and one sweater for me. DD's will be easy. She's small. Me? The last sweater I made for myself took me a year and a half.

I want to make a granny square throw/afghan, I have no ideas on how to start that yet though I can work on it on the train on the way home most evenings. I also would like to finish a baby blanket for a friend and start another.

My craft goal is to make at least 10 sellable things to put in my Etsy store.
I like this goal! I should try to do something like that, too.
Otherwise, I really want to sew my first pair of jeans. And a coat and/or jacket. I want to really learn more about tailoring and fitting "difficult" items.
Also, I want to sew more for others (for $$, not for free!). I don't feel like I can sew well enough to do that, but everyone that I've made stuff for is completely happy so far. So I really need to do more to turn my sewing into a business so I can write off all of my supplies and stuff.

I guess I better work on picking out yarn colors!
You can do it! My granny square blanket was a stash blanket, meaning I used bits of scrap yarn and didn't think too much about the colours. Sometimes, I wish it was a little more coordinated, but I guess this way I can rework it pretty freely.
Let me know if you need a hand with anything! Crochet is my first love.

(Re) learn to crochet or knit - you ladies have inspired me! I want to make a winter headband before it gets warm out, all the ones I find at the store are too wide and look silly on me...
Also, tie dye new towels, and bedding for our new house, as well as quilt pillows for the couch.
Quilt two blankets, one for our new nephew, one for my own baby!
I don't know how "crafty" this is, but DIY our nursery...paint/decorate walls, make a custom mobile, sew crib accessories (for decoration only?) refurbish dressers, bookshelves, etc. whatever it needs

I really want to learn to crochet. So far, not so good. Can anyone provide links to youtube vids they found helpful? What I've been watching so far just isn't helping me.

I have a huge huge unrealistic list of projects I'd like to do, but will never happen.
Realistically I want to finish my blanket WIP, then some throw pillows. Once summer rolls around Ill start making gifts. I haven't decided what everyone is getting this year. I've done mittens, so maybe scarves... ( I have a huge family, so gifts take me several months)

I found the "pattern" for granny squares, so you normally use a DC or TC?

I normally do DC. A TC will give you taller stitches, and therefore larger squares, but they work too!
ok thanks, I'll have to find a different pattern for it, I wasnt a fan of how loose it made the granny square, I think I prefer the closer tighter look of the DC. I appreciate the help!
There is no pattern, but it gives how many squares of each. I think I'll have to play it by ear on some parts. like how much yarn to buy....

Whenever I've done blankets like this I've used yarn that doesn't have a dye lot. That way, if I need more, I can just go buy it without having to worry about the colours being off. Of course, that means not using super luxurious yarns, usually... Though, because the same colours aren't side by side, you might be able to get away with slight colour differences anyway?

I'm going a month at a time right now, because giving myself a full year to accomplish something means I'll just keep putting it off and never do anything. So my goal for January is to revamp my Etsy store and it's current 3 listings. I'm also spending this month coming up with a plan for which items I'm going to start making for sale. I figure getting my cards going is step one, since that's what I have always sold on there. My February goal is to make the cards I decide on and make a plan for Tags which are next on my hit list. I'm hoping this will be a good way to motivate myself and keep things fresh and interesting for a while. Hopefully by year end I will have a well stocked store featuring Greeting Cards, Tags, Invitations, Scrapbook Pages, Embellishments and Christmas Ornaments.
I really want to learn to crochet. So far, not so good. Can anyone provide links to youtube vids they found helpful? What I've been watching so far just isn't helping me.
I really like the New Stitch A Day videos. They're easy to follow and also come with a written description. They cover crochet and knitting stitches. And for some reason I always get a kick out of the fact it's all done by a guy. Just like the novelty of it : )
My goal for the first part of the year at least is to figure out which crafty things it's possible to do while holding a baby who grabs everything. I suspect my options are limited. I spend LO's first couple of months making an advent calendar freehand out of felt because I found I could do it while she nursed and ate on the nursing pillow, which is all she did for the first eight to ten weeks. She's older now and in the grabbing stage but still wants to be held pretty much all the time. So I'm trying to figure out a craft for this stage of the game to keep me entertained and feeling at least semi-productive. Suggestions welcome!
My overall goal for the year is to finish up the million WIP I have cluttering up the house. I'd also like to sort, purge, and re-organize all of my crafting stuff.
This year is knitting down my stash. We will hopefully be leaving India for China in June of 2016 and I want to bring as little yarn with me as possible.
Now we've run into a visa snag, so I can knit up the stuff that's been in Canada, but I didn't bring all my knitting stuff with me on vacation -- so I'm trying to figure out what I can knit using the needles I have. I've never been a huge fan of magic loop, but I'm about to have to learn it and use it whether I like it or not!
1) at least 5 pinterest sewing projects 2) Make DD a totlder bed size quilt with the extra fabric from her crib bedding 3) Don't get more than 3 months behind on scrapbooking 4) Actually make everyone's birthday cards and anniversary cards again. 5) Keep the freshly cleaned and organized craft room clean and organized
January Specific Goals
1) Get the fabric cut for the Quilt 2) Get through Christmas in terms of LO's scrapbook 3) Get 5 pages done in our wedding album
New here! I got into smocking last year. I've made a few smocked bishops but have only done geometric smocking. I'm taking a picture smocking class in March and want to make some pictures smocked dresses.
