DH and I are thinking of buying a few more things for babygirl. We have a few toys that connect onto her playmat, plenty of books, a toy that vibrates across the floor, and a few stuffed animals. We've been trying to decide what would be good to buy for her to play with in the near future.
We are considering a sitting mat (like bumbo but more versatile) b/c she loves to sit, but doesn't enjoy the vibrating chair as much now. I have a 10 yr old but can't remember what I had for him then and honestly a lot of cool things have came out since then. We are looking at things that could last for a bit or will be coming up for use in the next few months. She is 10 days shy of 4 months.
So, I thought I'd ask around and see what everyone else has found their lo likes/plays with. Also other helpful/useful things you have that seem to fit this slightly older age well for ease of use etc.
the exersaucer is great for stress free playtime so you can shower, cook dinner, etc. jumper serves same purpose but i believe they are more expensive and we had to use judiciously with my oldest b/c it was like a laxative for him. (tmi?)
also those little tables can be useful b/c they can sit up and play w/ them, then use once they stand. i'd try to find on craigslist or garage sales. most people prob can't wait to get rid of them once the kids outgrow them.
biggest negative is all of the above things have lots of lights/noises, but you could always not put in batteries.
We started using our fisher price space saver highchair a few weeks ago and DS seems to like the change of view. We give him a few toys and he can play while we eat dinner. Otherwise playmat time. I think he does best with simple activities/one or two toys at a time and change it up when he gets bored. DS is about the same age as yours.
