I'm home with boogie, waiting for the first nap so I can shower and get ready for my parents coming up. Anyone been to the mummy exhibit? Is it good?
We went back in February. It was good, but there are several children on display and that was really hard for me to deal with. I'm not sure what your expectations of the exhibit are, but it's less about Egyptian mummies and more about naturally occuring mummification.
My FFFC, a couple evenings ago I went grocery shopping. On the way home 2 cardinals flew right in front of my car. I didn't have time to brake and one hit the car. I saw it bounce onto the road and felt awful. But I didn't go back, what was I going to do with an injured bird at 8 at night?!?! I came home crying to DH to go back and see if it was ok but he wouldn't. I didn't see it in the morning so I hope it was ok :-( Man I'm like Debbie downer this morning.

I don't think I said anything earlier this week, but we are giving cable the boot. Sayonara TWC!!!!
FFFC: When I was in my friends wedding at the beginning of March, I forgot to bring our card/check to the wedding. I brought the card to work so I could give it to her when she came back to work. Fast forward 4 weeks and the card is still sitting in my desk. I talk to my friend all the time, but we work in different departments on opposite sides of the building and I'm too lazy to walk it over.

Week was crappy. You all know why.
Compound that with the fact that DD is sleeping terribly again. I'm attributing it to the fact that the in-laws are visiting and that MIL only gave her 1 nap the day she watched her. Her schedule is so off whack that I was in tears last night.
There was a 2 1/2 hour stretch where she would not go back to sleep for anything! And in my exhausted mode of mombie, I'm irrationally mad at the in-laws for it because their visit is what threw off her schedule.
ladytiffany24- I hope your weekend is fun and cheers you up! I have been in a funk as well, obviously. I took DD to get her picture taken with the Easter Bunny last night. It was hilarious! She was soooooo interested in him. I highly recommend this right of passage if you think DD won't freak out. It definitely cheered me up. Sorry the quality is bad, this is a pic of a pic.
narbuckle01 she's at a great age to see the Easter bunny! M thinks the bunny or santa is going to murder him.
That is one of the reasons I took her... I know we are going to have no chance with Santa come Dec, I am not even going to try it. I can't remember who posted it yesterday but the screaming baby pics in Santa/Bunny's lap are just cruel, I agree. She was totally enamored by his texture, she wouldn't let go of the fur haha!

narbuckle01 - It looks adorable! You should at least try with Santa come Dec. DS was six months when we did Santa this past Dec., and he was mesmerized. If she's freaking out when you try, then grab her and call it quits.
My office is slow so because of the holiday the lights just went out... Who wants to start some lively conversation to keep me awake ?!?!
I say you take advantage and take a nap.
Yes!! Do this. If you don't have a a private office, just fold your hands like you're praying and rest you forehead on your hands. No one will bother you, especially with it being good friday

You ladies are hilarious. I am in a cube land, with short walls, facing my two employees. They will notice. However, when I was pregnant I would sneak away for naps in other cubes, take a bean bag and curl up under the desk. I would be soooooo much more comfortable without that huge belly too!

DNW to sleep on the floor at work. When I was pg, I told my boss to not be shocked when she found me sleeping on my desk during 1st tri. At the time, my boss was a woman with 4 children she laughed and asked if she could get me a pillow.

Oh I told the building supervisor that he needed to find me an empty cube, and needed to guarantee that cube would be empty for the next several months. He was like, no problem! And surprisingly I didn't mind the floor, guess I was too tired to care.

narbuckle01 I wouldn't trust something to not crawl on me, think bed bugs. My company has a high turnover rate in some departments, they are always bringing in new people. It's inevitable that there's at least 1 bed bug sighting a month, somewhere in the building.
holy cow mrscatfarmer13, I dont even think about these things. That would stress me out!
It's super stressful. If it wasn't for the good benefits... I'm terrified of one day taking a bug home with me. Thankfully (?) I found out after being bitten by a bed bug at work that I have a severe reaction to them so I would know if I had them at home. Again, blessing in disguise???

Sounds like a blessing in disguise to me. MIL used to be a social worker. Since she has been staying and helping us out I have learned how awful that profession is. Her bed bug stories are horrible. I don't fault people for getting them, I mean sometimes it is unavoidable, like bringing home head lice from school... but these people she tried to help have infestations (with kids in the house) and don't care!!

I know, I feel so bad for families like that. On one hand, you can't imagine how or why someone would *choose* (I'm using that loosely) to live in those conditions, but on the other hand, they probably don't have an extra $1000+ lying around to hire an exterminator, not to mention possibly replacing furniture/beds.

I didn't see it because of the children. H and the boys did and he told me he thought that would be too upsetting for me.
I've never experienced IF or a miscarriage. I can't imagine how hard the exhibit must be on those that have. ***creepy interweb hugs***

So even thought I'm annoyed enough to really want to start a whole new thread for this, I won't. I'll just throw it in here...quick poll:
When you are a guest at someone's house, do you mess with their thermostat in any way shape or form?
Guise, I'm about to lose my shit again. Idk if at this point every little thing is annoying me, but Sunday cannot come fast enough because I need my IL's to GTFO.
So I just got done getting DD back down. Well, when I woke up and walked into her nursery, it seemed extra hot in the house. When I picked up DD and sat down in the glider to feed her, she was sweating and I got increasingly hot as I sat there. (Small piece of backstory...whenever the heat is running, DD's room suddenly becomes the hottest one in the house) anyways, as I'm sitting there, I decide I'm going to go downstairs and check the thermostat when I'm done. Fast forward to me going downstairs and seeing that the temperature of the thermostat is set at SEVEN degrees higher than what we normally have it set at. I KNOW it was one of the IL's that did it because I can tell they tried programming it from something that is flashing on it. I am livid. Who touches someone else's thermostat?!?!?! If you're cold, fucking tell me and I'll get you an extra fucking blanket or something! I was so ready to wake up DH to bitch about it but figured I should vent in words here since it's currently almost 12:30am.
Am I crazy to think that people are crazy, rude and inconsiderate to mess with the temperature of someone's house when they're staying there as a guest?! WTF?
Woah, ladytiffany24. You're totally right. That's so rude. Also, even in your own house if you're a little chilly you don't raise the temp SEVEN degrees!
ladytiffany24 yeah that's pretty fucked, I would never do that at someone else's house. I would ask DH first to make sure for some reason he didn't do it. Then ask the in laws if they need any blankets. I would definitely say something since it affected DD. I would be annoyed too.

Is what I say to messing with the thermostat. My best friend keeps her house lime an ice box, I still don't mess with it. Did they even say anything to you about being cold? And to turn it up SEVEN degrees is insane, it's like this the first time they've ever worked a thermostat.
