I'm new (from tb) and love this board already!
I've battled with depression for about 6 years. On many different anti-depressants (Prozac, celexa, lexapro), and they helped me function, just not well. Everyday still was a battle, and I counted down the hours to go to bed. I've got a great family, good job but still was sad about life. Two weeks ago I had my 1st anxiety attack. It was horrible, and thankfully I got right into the dr office. They helped me through the 45 min ordeal. My new dr (whom I love) suggested a different class of meds, one used for bipolar. Not because I have bipolar but he was optimistic I would do well on it. I said I trusted him and wanted to avoid future anxiety attacks. Also I got two young kiddos and definitely need to be healthy for them. It's been almost 2 weeks and geesh I feel great. Really amazing! I never knew I could feel "happy" again. My husband came to me the other day, hugged me and said "it's good to have you back". That made me cry, I just can't believe I was in a fog for so long. I guess in all this rambling I just wanted to send support to everyone to keep trying new meds if you need to. Something is bound to work and it's great when you find the right one! I just hope this new med continues to work. We are still increasing me weekly just to get the right dosage, but so far it's made a difference in all aspects of my life.
I'll be looking forward to getting to know everyone else's story!
