FFFC - I confess nothing.
GTKY - I really hope nobody thinks I'm just lazy or something, because my record and previous employers show & would say otherwise, but I have never had a job I've loved. I've had a total three jobs. One at a supermarket from the time I turned 16 until I graduated hs and moved. One in retail while in college until I found an office job. Then I held that office position for seven years until I moved to OH. And as you all know, I'm working for them again. With my current employer, I've held several different positions. I worked my way up to where I am now. I didn't hate my job until I ended in my current position, and ironically, it's the position that pays. I've always struggled with trying to figure out what to do career - wise. Even while in college, I couldn't find something to major in that I was like, yeah, that's what I want to be involved with for the rest of my life. I still don't know what I want to do. I feel very lost in this aspect of my life, like I have no direction or sense of what I should be doing, and it makes me very anxious, like I've made the wrong choices or something and I'm clueless.
I have so many job stories that are ridiculous so I thought others might too. Internships- internships give the best stories.
In college, one of the state agencies I worked for was the licensing branch, and one of the division's was handling the state professional wrestling applications. This is for Ky - so think - the big shots have to apply when they come for Wrestlemania but also every random townie that has a local wrestling wring has to register. So my job was to transfer the paper applications to electronic- which meant scanning them in and taking out the staples, etc... Which meant that over the summer, I saw every picture of every wrestler in the state of KY. They were amazing. Lol. Like omg the masks and costumes and big boys in tiny spandex outfits and tools who totally dress up like their "character". It was the most hilarious and stress free work ever. And I had another girl doing it with me.
I also was a tutor in college for any student to come and have their paper edited. We also had students we were assigned to. Since I played sports in college, I was assigned members of the football team. I cannot express the emojis of editing those college papers. "U" and "2" need to be spelled out in formal writing - that was a typical comment I had to make.
I got to shoot a police glock in my internship in Philly- just in the testing room. And had to ride with the officers on an overnight shift. That wasn't the most interesting part of the job- since I worked for the DAs office, I got to help prepare and listen to murder trials all day. Talk about eye opening.
Also sstwinklinglites - it's never too late to find your passion. There are lots of things you can be good at and lots of things that can provide a living. I did all kinds of different things as internships when I was younger- I was lucky to have the experiences - and I'm still not really doing anything that closely relates to those experiences- that's life for most people I think.

becole I like how out of all the people you tagged, only one went through. It made me chuckle. Are you ok, I'm here, sort of, I'm trying to win a purse on q102 though so I'm a bit distracted.

I can't believe the amount of people that think it's ok to use such informal wording in a collage paper. Also, all the bad grammar. All. the. bad. grammar. (to, too, two. They're, their, there. Come on, that was like 1st grade stuff and people still struggle with it as adults.) I now sound like the grammar police.
I don't have any crazy job related stories. I guess the one that sticks with me the most was my very first job. It was at Chuck E Cheese and I absolutely hated it. I'm pretty sure I was 15 or 16 and quit after about 3 days because I got scolded for letting a child pick the flavor sucker they wanted at the prize counter (I had to grab from the sucker stash that was behind the counter, not under the glass that the kids could see). So I said nope, not worth it. lol
I've also been kind of absent. Idk if it's because I'm tired, or DD is keeping me busy, or what. She did roll from belly to back yesterday! So that was exciting. She's getting to be so fun!

Soo.... Speech just left and the battle of eating lunch has begun. DS has decided that I cannot hand him anything to eat I have to set it down and let him pick it up. He will also only eat out of plates that we use.....Ohh the drama!
I'm trying to ?wolf woof woulf<lol >? My food before dictator baby wants to attack my boobs. All the while wondering why my family needs dinner and thiking about the lack of employment through the years.
I've been super busy with work the past few days, but my class is taking a quiz right now so I have some time. FFFC: My house is a disaster. And there is one suitcase that still needs to be unpacked from the vacation that ended a week ago. But the weather is going to be so nice tomorrow, I probable won't do anything about it until (maybe) Sunday.
I teach high school. No interesting secrets about this job. I worked a lot of random retail and restaurant jobs in my 20s. I worked at a Payless Shoes during college and got robbed twice. (In case you're wondering, robbing a Payless gets you about $65) Then one day I was working with my boss and a guy came in holding his waistband like he had a gun. He walked down the men's aisle and I went and asked if I could help him (because that's what you're supposed to do to prevent robbery). He said no, wasn't really looking at shoes, and then when I was by the register, he kept walking toward me with nothing in his hand to buy. Every time I saw him I would walk out from behind the register and talk to him where my boss could see me. Then he would go back to the men's aisle and come back and repeat a few minutes later. This story is a lot longer than I intended it to be. Anyway, he was acting so weird and holding on to his waistband the whole time. I was sure he was about to rob me, and sure he had a gun. In the end, I was ringing up another customer and he came and stood behind her with no shoes to buy. I got so flustered I totally messed up that transaction, and it took like 5 minutes to void stuff on the ancient cash register, and so I called my manager to come up to the front and help me. Then the guy just turned around and left. I told my manager I was sick and went home. Then I called him like an hour later and said I was never coming back. A month later they got robbed at gunpoint (the first two robberies I was there for didn't involve guns.) Fast forward 3 years... I worked as a bank teller right after college and experienced a robbery there too. It was a different teller, but I was in the drive through so I was just on the other side of a window behind her, so I was the only other person who witnessed it.
I'm not being very productive and I wish I was out in the sunshine. Plus I need to find something to wear tomorrow and my shorts are not going to fit and I completely forgot about this until now. A stop at Target is in my future today. I might see if I can use some personal hours and get out of here so I can do this before I have to get to day care.

Crap woman! I'd probably never work in the public sector ever again.
Haha there was no gun with the bank robbery either. He told her he had a gun, but he probably didn't. He was in and out and the only people who even knew it was happening were me and the teller he robbed. So none of them were really that scary. My motto is "Hey, it's not my money. No weapon required to rob me. All you gotta do is ask." The second Payless robber was downright polite, actually. But if someone robbed me at gunpoint I'd probably wet myself right there.
Does anyone have big plans for the beautiful weather we're going to have tomorrow? I think we're going to Monroe to shop at the outlet mall. There's a Stride Rite there, and DS needs some shoes.
I'm here, sorta. Feel like I'm never going to dig out from the hole I'm in from missing work last week when DS and I were sick.
Best job I've had though was an internship in college. I worked at a horse racetrack. I helped with their PR and got to watch all the races at night. I made more money betting than they paid me. It was so much fun!
Next best job is the one I have now. I really like working out of my house and I truly enjoy what I do.

What's tomorrow that you need an outfit for? I love Target. I got 2 super comfy cotton dresses there a few weeks ago. One long, one short. I wore the maxi dress to work this week and got tons of compliments on it. Love it when clothes are cheap, comfy AND look good.
babylove518, working at Chuck E Cheese sounds like a nightmare. I probably wouldn't have made it more than 3 days either.
JoBub those are great retail stories!! Since I work with the public, I've been educated on the ways of insulting someone. "As worthless as tits on a boar hog" was a personal favorite I've been called.
