So, I'm cali for work and I'm freaking up at 4 am, damn circadian rhythm. I have to say, it is both weird and nice to be away from baby girl. I'm definitely missing her but it is kinda nice doing whatever the fuck I want!

Girl! I can imagine. There are days when I want a couple day's worth of a break. But then I think I'd lose my mind missing DD. So many mixed emotions.
My day is lame so far. I'm on the hold with my student loan processing company. Been holding for 9 minutes so far. I'll be interested to see how long this takes. School loans fucking suck.

Yes student loans suck it's a crime really that we have to go into so much debt for education.

It's a crime that the cost of education. Doesn't equate to the quality of a job. Teachers and social workers shouldn't pay the same for a class that drs and Lawyers etc pay. Not because their education isn't worth it, but reality. I'm irritated that I as a teacher paid the same amount per class that my lawyer husband did.
Good morning btw! Today my DD turns 10....just wow.

Omg ten years old! Did that just fly by? My niece is turning 10 this year and I swear she was just a baby, she'll be a sassy teenager before I know it.

Same shit, different day, right here. Is this week over yet? Would it be frowned upon if I book a hotel room for myself, as a birthday present to myself?
vlagroupie does your hotel have a spa or is there one close by so you can treat yourself in your down time? I'm a little jelly of you because I could really use a day to myself.

Do it, book the room! And spa day for you too!
I haven't checked into spa here yet but I did consider getting a massage. We are setting up for a convention today then tomorrow until Sunday is practically all day standing at a booth meeting current and new customers. I'll probably be ready for a pedicure at least by the end of this.

Ditto on the popular opinion regarding student loans. It bums me that I owe so much in student loans and I never even worked in my field of study. I worked to put myself through school, and had no reason to move on from my job after graduation (I tried, but nothing would start me in a position or making what I was already making). Also, after going through school, I just don't think it's always worth it. I love school. Love learning. Love the structure. However, there are so many careers that just don't require a college education. Teachers, lawyers, doctors, etc., yes, college degree required. Entrepreneur? Not so much? I wouldn't hold it against my kids if they decide college isn't for them.

vlagroupie - I'm weirdly jealous. I think I'm going to use mrscatfarmer13 idea and get myself a hotel room for my birthday. It's my 30th, so I get something special right?

My birthday isn't until May. All I want is to sleep twelve uninterrupted hours, and to get a massage. I may have to jump the gun with these suggestions though. At least for the massage.

I've been having all kinds of feels lately about feeling like I don't get enough time with DD because I work. I think a lot of it stems from doing this sleep training and not having my normal night cuddles with her in my bed because she's sleeping on her own in her crib now. Idk. But it makes me sad. And I have no choice but to work. It sucks. Man, I cherish the weekends!

ladytiffany24 - I sometimes have days where I just can't get enough of DS and just want to cuddle him nonstop. I wouldn't change him STTN in his crib for cuddles though. Just think of the long term benefits.

sstwinklinglites I know, I know. And I def wouldn't change that either. I think that was just the cause of my stronger feels about it lately. I just wish I could get away with only working part time or something. I looooove picking her up from the sitter everyday though. She just lights up. It makes me feel all giddy.

Totally jealous of all this spa talk! I could really use one! I need to get caught up on bills since maternity leave and part time work and then I am totally scheduling one.
Back part time at work-- today is the third day. Coming back to a significant performance issue that was let slide over my leave. Now I have to deal with the verbal warning and likely termination. Ugg!
mrscatfarmer13 Agree with the meetings statement! I work with lots of international people and meetings are my life. I always make sure there are clear agenda items when I run a meeting, that way we stay on track. But there are others who like to meet just for the sake of meeting.

Total eww for performance issue leading to verbal warning and likely termination. As an HR professional, this is part of my life. And part of my life I hate. Why in the world didn't someone handle this while you were out?!
