Mostly side. Except our sucky new mattress already has depressions in it so sleeping on my side has started giving me more back pain. I learned my lesson on that one and will probably be dumping the mattress soon even though it's only a year old.
So I try to fall asleep on my back now. And I usually stay that way until pretty close to when I need to wake up anyway.
+ 1 to the knee up position. I love the stretching feeling. Also, to the 'sleep where the dogs let you' we have two and one of them is like a sack of flour to move. And he's still growing.

My legs usually make a "4" when I sleep. I don't like sleeping on my right side, I have a port on that side and it used to be super tender just after I had it placed - so I've kind of learned not to sleep on that side. I only get cramps if I point my toes.
CFNBC - PCOS, one tube. Tried getting a baby in me for a couple years. Diagnosed with Stage IV adenocarcinoma of the lung in August 2013 with metastases in the liver, bone and brain. Going through peri-menopause because of treatments. On a daily chemotherapy pill called Zykadia and it makes me pretty sick. I wanted to lose weight but not this way!! Fighting every fucking day. Got questions? Ask me.

That's the best description of this position I've heard. H just says we both look like ballerinas because we both sleep that way lol.

I usually sleep on my stomach. If I sleep on my sides it makes my back hurt. I also sometimes make the 4 with my legs. You will also usually find my dog there.

I sleep curled up on my side, but I've never had a problem with cramps. Could it be a mattress problem? With our old spring mattress I would wake up with sore hips. Ever since we switched to memory foam 2 years ago I never have any problems.

I definitely favor sleeping on my stomach, but I have tried to break this habit. If I do it too long, then I have a hard time turning my head and I get knots in my upper back and neck. When I am on my stomach, I lay straight like an arrow with my arms extended underneath me.
I have been sleeping on my side while I am trying to break this habit.
DH sleeps mainly on his back. Buying a king size bed was vital for our relationship. If we sleep to close, he twitches in his sleep and hits me. Needless to say in college, I'd spend the night at this apartment and I'd wake up in the middle of the night with an elbow in the back. Once he got my in the eye. No bueno!
I am a side sleeper, mostly. Either side will do, but I have to throw my leg up over something. Occasionally I will sleep on my back, if my sides have gone to sleep (lol) or I'm nauseated or stuffed up.
I'm a back sleeper. I fall asleep on my back and usually wake on my side or back. I love sleep. My bed and my pillows make all the difference, I have an icomfort mattress and tempurpedic pillows.
I am another "sleep in any position" person, but I take it to a new level: sitting (couch, chair, criss-cross applesauce), on transportation (planes, trains, automobiles), and -- I shit you not -- occasionally standing.
I do the sleep. I usually only get kinks or soreness when I sleep in a funky position, though. Like curled up in a ball on a recliner.

::applause:: Wow, I envy you. My parents used to call me the princess and the pea. Everything has to be perfect -- temperature, right level of white noise from fan, coziness, and H needs to be trying to sleep. When he's diddling around on his phone at night when I'm trying to fall asleep, I notice every little thing he does like rubbing his feet together or scratching his head or whatever and go crazy until he rolls over finally and hits the hay.
Needless to say, I can never sleep in cars or on planes

It could be. Ours was a hand-me-down from my SIL, and H swears it is concave in the middle. Unfortunately, we aren't in the best financial situation right now. Even TTC is on hold, so definitely no new mattress
What brand memory foam, just out of curiosity, teareading?

If you are looking into memory foam, check out the icomfort. Ours was $1400 (cheap for memory foam)

Serta icomfort. We both love it. It doesn't sink down so that you're vacuum sealed in there, just gives a nice little dip/cushion. I hear you on budgeting - mattresses can be pricey! You could try buying a foam topper. That would definitely be less money but still give some better support!

I'm so mad that I have one more night on our nasty mattress. Our new one is delivered tomorrow!! It's a serta foam one, and we're super excited. We got the softest of the soft, DH has sleep apnea, and scoliosis, and I have major hip issues so we're super excited about the upgrade. He was kind of worried about sinking in to deep and trying to turn over, but after he laid in it for a while, his back was feeling great.

That's exciting! I love getting new furniture delivered. Hope you and H will be able to get some better sleep!
Thanks teareading we're really excited! But not about our last night in our old bed, somehow it has been feeling worse and worse since we bought the new one and have been waiting haha
I'm a side sleeper as well. I will say that it helped H and I to get better sleep when we invested in really good pillows. We both bought a tempurpedic pillow that suited our sleeping style and it's been amazing.
