I finally remembered mine that I thought of on Monday! Basically this is a Monday bitchfest, WTF Wednesday, UO Thursday (not around here, but the general population), and a FFFC !
STAAAP putting your infant carrier in the top of the shopping cart! Just because it fits doesn't mean it should go there. I can think of a few examples of things that fit but shouldn't necessarily go there. Not only is it a fall hazard, but how the eff do you see over that thing to steer?! Maybe that's just me... I'm short. Come on, though! People look at me like I'm stupid when I put the carrier in the big part of the cart.
The confession? I wish it were acceptable to go up to these people and tell them it's unsafe, but I'm too much of a whimp and hate confrontations.

I've had people stop me to tell me it fits on the top. Umm, no thanks, we're good just how we are..

I wish they would stop me! Then I could tell them it's not safe up there!
nannygoat I've gotten to have this conversation: "You know the seat fits right up here!" "Oh, no we are okay like this" "But you'll have more room for your groceries!" "But she's safer down here." Dumbfounded look.. I slowly back away, "now, what else do we need to get? Tooth paste? Ah yes" in the baby voice to LO lol
I thought of another. Every time I say I'm going to start eating healthier I decide I should probably eat all the junk RIGHT NOW. So.. Onto my 4th cookie and it's not even noon. But, tomorrow!
I sing happy birthday to my LO every month. Just a modified version... Happy four month birthday... Happy four month birthday etc. am I nuts? Or just eccentric?
pdxlaurens Nice! I have been on an organizing kick too. I have this feeling that once LO get mobile I will never be organized again, so it's best to get as organized/de cluttered as possible now.
Ya, it started because I'm clearing out old magazines and reading things I had bookmarked in them and this tip was one of them. I've also been obsessively selling items on ebay. Must clean, organize, and de-clutter while I still can! Still felt a little crazy though lol.
I'm vegetarian mostly vegan. That's all I could come up with and people usually give me a hard time about it.
We're vegan too, and yes people love to hate us. My favorite is "how can you tell if someone's vegan? Don't worry they'll tell you". Super hilarious. :/ My FFFC will piggy back yours: we're raising LO vegan too. It's really not any different from any other value/belief a parent shares with their child, it's just less common.

We always put LO in the big part of the cart too. It freaks me out to see the carrier on the top! We just stack groceries around LO.
.
My FFFC: I used to do this with DD1. 8 years ago it was still acceptable andplusalso I never let go of the cart - NEVER. I have reformed though and put LO inside now and stack groceries around him. though I am mad sometimes because I can't get too much into the cart and then at the end putting things in bags inside is hard and I always walk away holding half the groceries in hand. Wearing LO doesn't work because it's still too cold for me to go out without a jacket.
Whenever someone brings up being vegan or vegetarian the scene from "My Big fat Greek Wedding" comes to my head ( you don't eat meat?! You don't eat meat?!, oh that's ok I make lamb) lol sorry. I don't see why other people should care though, it's your choice about what you do eat.
Another FFFC for me: I'm an Organic snob. I love all things Organic.

LO was mistaken for a boy this morning and I was proud because, for once, I didn't give into the stereotypes that girls have to wear pink, ruffles, and bows.
The talk about being vegetarian sparked a confession for me. I wish I could raise LO vegetarian and convert DH. Cooking dinner would be so much simpler.

You can! Just stop making it hah! But seriously if you want to try it couldn't hurt! We do save a lot of money not buying meat or milk.

Yah the comments when I was pregnant were a real treat. I also get mad when I see a bogus article about a parent who was vegan and their child died because they were exclusively breastfed at 18 months and people think it's because of the vegan ism. Um no. LO is 17 lbs at 5 months thank you ver much.
I have fallen really behind on thank you notes. A few people have dropped off gifts for DS in the past two months and I barely remember who gave us something.

When DS was a baby (11 years ago) it was the norm and I had no idea it was a bad thing. This time around I know better and I always put her in the big part too. I think I would have responded ok to someone telling me it was bad to do (but idk, maybe I would have told that person to mind their own business).

I would still give it a shot if I were you. Put the carrier on, then jacket over top. That's what I did through one of the coldest winters on record (I live in Vermont). As long as his head was covered, it worked great! It's so nice to be able to get more than five things at once, and not have to lug the carseat into the store!
I guess I should invest in an Ergo. All I have is the k'tan carrier and its a bit tricky. Would an ergo be too hot for summer or is it lightweight enough?

The ergo will probably be a little warm this summer but I tend to just let my kids rock a diaper all summer so I'm hoping babygirl will be fine in it. Also working on convincing my BF we need the mesh carrier that works in the water... its not going so well right now
Mesh water carrier?!? Does the sponsor of D14 carry it?
During the brief periods LO is not fussy and I can go about my day like a normal adult I try to narrate everything for her in a stream of conscious type manner, but now that she's nearly 5mo I should probably be a bit more careful, I said the following yesterday (while I had her in a lounger in my bedroom and I was getting dressed):
"Mommy is putting on a bra, mommy is putting on her shirt, mommy is putting on slutty underwear for daddy. Oops, disregard that last one"

I never got the whole not liking vegans or vegetarian thing like the "hey vegetarians my food poops on your food" memes. I'm neither vegetarian or vegan but I could not care less what other people eat

I was a vegetarian for about 3 years (until I was craving meat when I was pregnant with LO). DH and I went to his sister's for New Year's and she made some soup with a bunch of meat in it (all that's coming to mind is menudo but that's not it). DH tells her I can't have any because I some eat meat, she offers me chicken taquitos (sp?). Thanks, but that's still meat lol.
I left work an hour early one day this week to take a nap in my car in the parking garage near my work instead of going right to pick up LO and home to take care of DH who was sick. I was not functional at all (2 hours total sleep) but still feel bad.
