I sent apple coffee cake and a thank you card to the daycare ladies today for Teacher Appreciation week. I hope they like it - my son loves those ladies!
So for my internal transfer, I have to do a task to show them I can do what the job entails. I'm kind of excited about it And I get to have a pre-call today with one of the interviewers to ask her any questions I want to about the assignment, short of "what's the best answer"!
I told my boss I was still considering the position. She took it about as good as anyone can, but wanted to make sure I stayed through the end of May to finish out a big assignment and to cover for a co-worker who's on vacation.
Anyway, off to have a Thursday. Have a good day ladies!!

When I got to work this morning, my coworker told me I had something on my face and should go to the bathroom. I literally had shit on my face. There was a poopsplosion on the way out the door this morning. I was in a hurry to change DD, but still... How did it get on my face and why didn't I notice it???

We have six month shots today, I hope DS takes a long nap afterwards.
Also, I used the nosefrieda this morning and didn't notice that the filter had fallen out until AFTER I was done sucking. It was absolutely horrifying.

Last night went okay for us but when DS woke up the first time, he displayed a new trick. I walked in and he was sitting up in his crib. Kid can pull himself into a sitting position. Pray for me. He also "slept in" until 6:15, which was a nice change.
D is coming over tonight for awhile and tomorrow DS, my mom, and I are going to visit my grandma downstate and take her to dinner. On Mother's Day itself I'm going to take DS to D's mom's to hang out with his siblings and his nieces. My ILs sent me chocolate covered strawberries for Mother's Day, and even though I don't like them, it was nice of them to do. Gotta remember to send a thank you email at some point.

Good luck!!! DD's 6 month shots were like nothing.

Haha DD's been doing that too. The worst part is she's not the best sitter so she's flopped over a couple times but what can you do? YAY Q! You slept in!
Well it sucks you don't really like the strawberries but that's really sweet of them to think to send you something. Have you met his siblings yet? I can't remember if you had. It should be interesting to take Q to meet them! Are you nervous about it? I mean he's fucking adorable so obviously they're going to love him.

I met his weird bodybuilding brother when we all went out for his birthday back in March. I haven't met his sister, but she lives like 45 minutes away so I don't think D even sees her that much. They are dying to meet the baby, haha. So I think it will be fun, but yeah, I'm nervous about what they're going to think of me when we're outside a busy restaurant environment. I am awkward as hell sometimes.
Why is it H always wants to get it on when I'm trying to fall asleep?
Today is open house for Mother's Day. Everyone and their dog will come in trying to get free cupcakes etc even though they don't even have accounts with us...
and I will get NOTHING done. PILE IT ON!
Guise I'm getting nervous DH has literally said NOTHING about Mother's Day. I even caved and bought his mom's mother's day shit which annoyed me. Clearly there's a pattern here today.

That's part of your charm ;-) I think that's the awesome part about a baby. They're so distracting that no one pays attention to how awkward I am.
Oh last night DD was sitting on her play mat eating on a toy and "talking" while nodding no. It was probably the most adorable thing I've ever seen. It was like she had something really serious to tell me.
Has anyone else noticed their LO having a dominant hand preference? I think DS might be left-handed. He reaches for everything with his left hand.
Yes, I've noticed that too. Does it matter yet??
No I don't think so. I'm just curious. DH was right-handed, I'm right-handed. I don't think anyone in my family is left-handed. It would be cool if he was left-handed though.

ok I'm done bitching
No booty for your H until you get a Mother's Day gift. I hope he's just being quiet about it and he's going to surprise you with ALL THE THINGS!
My H leaves today for a month. Back to Mozambique.
He is coming to take me to lunch before he heads to the airport and we are getting Mexican.
That's about all I've got. Hope everyone has a great day!
blah. So soon!? He just got hoooome! You should go to Africa when he gets done and you can go on a safari together. Just kidding, baby on a 25 hour plane ride and malaria? NOPE NOPE NOPE

Oh man. I am sorry about your face. But this made me lol for real. Hope your day gets less shitty!

See I feel like the problem here is I frequently smell phantom baby shit, so I don't really notice when I am actually covered in baby shit.

I know, I feel like he just got here! I'm afraid this month is going to be one in which J changes a ton and he is going to miss out. It makes me sad.
I mean, the kid has to learn how to roll sometime and he seems to be getting close to it.
What is with people and free stuff? You could be like come get your free dog shit! And someone would be outside the door waiting for their free dog shit. I'm telling you...

Babies shouldn't show hand dominance until 12-18 months. But, dd will go through periods where she uses one hand more than the other. I think it's when she's maybe working on something new. But then it'll stop and she'll be using them equally again.

Do you document stuff for him? Send him videos or anything? It's bound to happen that way. It sucks they have to leave but when they come home, it's so awesome!
I'm taking dd in for a second flu shot today. I'm not sure she really would need it as it's pretty late in the season, but we're flying in a week and a half. I hope she does okay with it.

That makes sense. DS is definitely working on crawling right now. I'll have to watch and see if that's a pattern.
