We are still not sleeping either. We do three wake ups most nights but at least once or twice a week it's more like six.
Yeah I knew you were one of the ones still not sleeping. We still wake up 3-5 times every night. Sunday night we had 3 wakeups, last night we had like 5. And from 3:30-4:30, he's always very restless. And we don't even BF anymore! Ugh. I don't get it.
We do mostly formula now too and she eats solids like a champ but she us still hungry at night. I wish I had her metabolism.
So DD has officially started crawling. She did the combat crawl for awhile but now she's legit crawling. Also she's starting to prop herself up on her knees.
I took DD for her well visit yesterday and she's 15lbs and pedi told me to start her on table foods now. Eggs, mash potatoes, pastas, ground chicken, etc. I'm terrified of her choking so idk if I'll be doing that right now.
Cocomama complain away! I'm so used to not sleeping that I don't even feel tired half the time anymore.
The last time my kid slept longer than 3 hours was January. He supposedly sleeps for my ILs, but I'm starting to think they're lying, because he doesn't sleep well for my mom either. Luckily, he's a good napper.
We will hang out with you in our sleep deprivation. A sleeps amazing at my moms also, I've yet to see one of those nights at home. We average 4 wakes a night.
Thanks for the well wishes for A. Thankfully the pediatrician next door keeps two appts a day open for our pedi's patients while he is gone and there was one left when I called.
alfibet, that is awesome! Yay for sleeping baby!! windwithfingers, - You will not be last man standing... my baby is right there with yours - sigh apk4, that is great you got to talk to your h!
I agree the babies need to stop growing! I was going through pictures last night and working on DD's baby book and it gave me the sads, I miss my newborn! Stop growing!! She does get cuter every day though.
I slept like shit last night. I am pretty sure DD is going through some kind of regression. I had to rock her to sleep last night which never happens any more. Then she woke up just after 5AM this morning and I picked her up to change her feed her and she put her head down on my chest and fell asleep. So I said to hell with it and we cuddled and napped on chair in her room until 6:30. I don't like this regression, but I am soaking up all of the baby cuddles. I remember the days where I was hopeful that some day DD would sleep through the night. Yeah I think every bit of that hope is gone. We had a few good nights where should only woke up once, then bam we are back to multiple wake ups, fitful sleeping and being wide awake before 5AM.
Ladies, I need you to bring me my trophy. This morning I left Lo's bottles on the cabinet and of course realized it the second I was merging onto the interstate. I was striving to be at work on-time (rare occurrence) because I have a dentist appointment this morning.
Luckily, the exit is a cloverleaf so I immediately exited and returned home.
Work has been a shit show this morning but hopefully we can get this shit under control. I mean one person got a flat, one person had a heel break. I'm beginning to get freaked out over here!
So to all of those with multiple wake up, have you tried putting them to bed later?
When we tried to put lo in bed around 8 he would wake up several times. Now we consider 8-10 a nap (we keep him in the living room with us in his bouncer) and then give him a bottle and he is normally down for the night around 10:45 (unless you take away his minky sheets and then all bets are off).
I'm going to be the last man standing when it comes to STTN. I know this and I've accepted it, but I can't think about it or I'll cry.
My kid's new routine is to wake up around 11:30 full of energy. I however have zero energy at that point so I've just been setting her on the floor and watching her scoot around with no toys in sight until she gets frustrated and cries. I can handle MOTN crying baby, but MOTN happy baby? No, that I can not deal with.
So on Mother's Day DH came up to me all serious and put his hand on my stomach and asked if he could make me a mother again....wtf dude you're messing with the plan!!! So I told him when we could afford for me to have a personal driver and live in maid/nanny we could have another one. He said he's currently working on that.

Hi, I'm back I'm about 90% caught up on all of my backlogged work AND my event tomorrow got canceled so I feel like I can breath again.
For Mother's day we went to the Aviary and met up with my mom. MIL then invited herself to join us, which was kind of awkward but still fun. DH took off work yesterday so that we could have a family day to ourselves without anyone else tagging along. We went to the zoo and it was seriously the best day that we've had in years. Beautiful weather, no intrusive family members, no work and I wasn't pregnant. Plus DD was a perfect happy baby all day! We really need to schedule more us days.
So I preemptively asked my mom at what age I started walking so I can hopefully be prepared for M. She said at 9 months! Oh lordy...
My mom said the same about me. Apparently I crawled for a day or two and then stood up to walk and never crawled again. DD has loved bearing weight on her legs for months and now she's scooting around and pulling herself up on the furniture. She also likes to stand up while nursing. I'm getting scared. Excited, but scared...

Hm, interesting about the later bedtime. DS naps in his crib, and 8pm is the latest I can get him to stay up without a complete meltdown. Usually when I go in to get him around 11, I'll pick him up and he'll fall asleep on my shoulder, which is why I always just considered 8pm bedtime. I don't think I can make it to 10:45 every night. 9:30 is usually my limit.

Yeah, both DH and I walked at 10 months. I was like oh good, just in time for our family reunion, which takes place on a lake, so I can freak the whole time about my kid walking off a pier. GREAT.
I was 7 months (apparently I never crawled though), but DH was a lot later than that, so I'm hoping S is somewhere in the middle.
Ahhh... no. I will push him over if he tries to walk now!
My mom claims they stood me up against a wall and said, "come here Vxxxxx!" and I toddled a few steps, and that was it. They immediately regretted their "joke".

So last night we tried 10 minutes of CIO and I just couldn't (even though we did it Ferber style with periodic back patting). DH and I got in a fight about it since he thinks we should stick with it. Anyways. DS was so upset by the ordeal he stayed up till 10:30 (he usually goes to sleep at 7:30) and then slept till 5am. But was super tired this morning. I don't know. It will be a relief when sleeping isn't an issue.
Talk to me about naps. Everything I read says that babies should consolidate their naps into 2 longish naps each day. DS is all over the map with naps, but it's most common for him to have 1 long nap (90+ minutes), one medium nap (45-60 minutes) and 2 short naps. And it's not very predictable when during the day he will take his long nap.
How many of you are on a regular nap schedule with 2 long naps?

My kid takes one long nap in the morning (usually between 8-9 and around 2-2.5 hours) and one shorter nap in the afternoon (around 2-3 for 45-90 minutes).

I'm not even going to try sleep training. I just can't. He sleeps over with my ILs one night a weekend, which blows his routine to hell, and during the week I can't because it's just me and I need some semblance of sleep if I'm going to work. Maybe I would if my mom would get up with him in the night, but she is not interested. So he sleeps with me until he figures it out, which I know he will. Eventually. In middle school.
My DD is already throwing tantrums at 6.5 months.. Throwing herself back, screaming, and growling at me. Oh how I can't wait for the teenage years (insert sarcastic font)! She already looks at me like she's annoyed with me haha.
windwithfingers I've said this before but it's true you either get a good napper or a good night sleeper but never both. Or you get a terrible sleeper in general. Right now with teething and double ear infection we have the later!

This. We have a hard time getting to 8 without a melt down. She startes getting pissed around 6-6:30.

If you can't do it H shouldn't push you. He'll sleep when he's ready. I think at this point it's still pretty normal to have a baby that wakes up. Unless we're doing it wrong?

DD is also in our bed. I don't mind it except that she's screwing with our sex life. So I guess that's more motivation for DH to finish the floor in her nursery. Quite frankly I'm shocked he hasn't taken a vacation day JUST to get it done. Lol
