Hi! I have a 6w (almost 7 weeks) old and he seems to want to eat constantly. Today I had a dr appointment and nursed his before I left the house. I left a couple ounces in the fridge in case my husband needed it. He fed the 2 ounces and then thawed out 4.5 oz of frozen milk. Igot home 2 hours later and he had eaten all but 1 ounce! That just seemed like a lot to me. Also since I've been home all he has wanted to do is nurse.
Edit: sorry this posted earlier in accident and wasn't finished writing. Thanks for the responses!
Ahhh, the 6w growth spurt. This was one of the toughest for us. Your baby wanting to eat all the time is completely normal. Hang in there, you'll get through this!
This is so, so normal. Nurse that baby and stay away from supplement bottle as much as you can. This will help establish your supply for the weeks and months to come.

Keep nursing!! Best advice I got at the age was if baby fussed, put her on the boob. If she smiled, put her on the boob. Basically just put her on the boob for everything and in a couple of days your supply will increase!

It really does get easier once your supply is established and baby doesn't need marathon nursing sessions... I actually miss them! And I agree stay away from the bottle and just nurse the heck out of that baby!

I blamed pretty much everything on a growth spurt. I still do and my son is almost 15 months. Can't sleep? Growth spurt. Sleeping too much? Growth spurt. Cranky? Growth spurt. Clingy? Growth spurt. Just keep doing what you're doing!
The six week growth spurt was tough for us. I didn't think we'd get through it and second guessed my supply all the time. But it eventually ended and feel like my supply was well established after that. Silver linings, yeah? :-P
