Yesterday DH decided to finally update his resume and start browsing new jobs online. He found a couple of jobs that were exactly what he does now but with much salaries. None of them were local but we might be going down to Florida next month for vacation and I think he might seriously try to set up some job interviews for while we're there. We spontaneously moved to Orlando about four years ago but moved back to PA two years later because we missed our families. We regretted that decision within a few months though and have been dwelling on it ever since. If he were to find a better job down there that would be amazing. I'm not counting on it at all but I'm glad that he's looking into it at least.
apk4 If you can swing it financially without adding additional stress then I think you should cut back your hours! You have a lot on your plate & I give you a ton of credit for holding it all together. Your happiness is important too. You deserve a break & I hope it comes to you trifold! Big hugs lady!
Aww thank you angnjon. That made my day. Especially coming from you. You more than have your hands full and you rock it like super mom. I think you are super mom.

Uhm you are both super mom. 2 babies and doing it predominantly solo? Ooof that's a lot ladies.
Traffic yesterday was horrible due to flooding and a stoplight that was out. I got DS from daycare at 7:30. They close at 6:30.
Then I got home and our garage door was broken. It wouldn't close.
Then I took DS out of the car seat to carry him inside and noticed he felt warm. Yep, he had a fever. A low one, but a fever.
So basically I had the worst night ever. I called one of my H's friends and he checked out the garage door and told me I need to call someone. He closed it and showed me how to lock it though. DS is feeling better, but still has his cold. He got me sick though and I feel like horse shit.
I know I complain a lot, but shit I just want a tiny break!! I'm really evaluating how much I work and how long I'm gone. It sucks and I don't want DS to suffer because of it.
So anyway, I got all that shit out of the way and now it's time to PARTAY because it's Friday. WOoooooooo notches!
hope you are feeling better soon! I hope your friday is MUCH better!
I talked to DH last night and he agreed to do a sortofkindof long weekend get away with me this summer. His parents live in Austin and there's an amazing spa with an infinity pool and amazing food and wine that I went to a few years ago with a girlfriend. We are going to leave DS with his parents during the day and come back around 5 to still see him for a bit before bed. This is so super exciting!!!! Here's a pic of the pool.
apk4 I can't image how hard it is doing it by yourself at times DH is away. I stress about getting home at 5:30 and am already looking to cut my hours. Even if it means less income sometimes time is worth more. ((Hugs)) for your rough day!
My kid's new favorite toy is the TV remote. She's currently sitting next to me on the couch and alternating between playing with the remote and snacking on my boob. I should probably discourage it, but no.
For those of you offering applesauce to LO are you just purchasing the standard no sugar added stuff? I haven't see plain old applesauce in the baby food section. I could make it myself since I make all their other purées but I like to have some back up stuff on hand just in case.

I found apples in baby food aisle. I make my own but yes, the no sugar added would be the same.

I know beechnut has a just apples purée, but I haven't tried it yet. Applesauce is the one food I've been consistently making myself. I just peal, chop, heat it for like 30 seconds in the microwave, and then toss it in the magic bullet. It's gone over well so far.

I got the gerber babyfood jar of applesauce. I'm no chef.

DD is obsessed with it too..that and my phone. I have to hide them..haha.
My donkey returned last night. No light at the end of the tunnel.
One of our offices had that hanging up about a year ago. Our boss at the time got mad about it made them take it down.
PS - forgot to say that I'm sorry about your donkey. DD has been sleeping like shit, too. Not sure if it's a regression or the neighbor's dog barking all night.
I think I'm creating a bad habit with bringing the baby into our bed around 2 am. She won't take pacifier at that time and tries to hold onto me. She then falls asleep next me in bed..and must hold onto my face. It's adorable but I'm afraid it's becoming a habit. So after she's done being sick I may have to let her fuss it out a little bit. Right now it's poor baby wants to cuddle with Mommy!
I worry about that too, but then I think he'll only be this little once. I say do whatever you need to to get some sleep. It'll work out eventually.
TRUTH. Do what the baby needs NOW and worry about the rest later.
