I have my glucose test tomorrow. Bleh. I also think I'll get a talking to for gaining about 30 lbs by nearly 30 weeks. I dipped under my pre Junie weight before getting KU again, so I think part of the gain is from my body bouncing back from breastfeeding, but I still dread that conversation. I eat healthy, walk for an hour a day, and chase a baby around. Let me be!

Meh I wouldn't worry about it. I think dr's put too much emphasis on it. If you're being healthy (like you are) then that's what your body wants/needs.

I never got "talked to" and I gained between 35 and 50 lbs with each pregnancy. As long as my BP and stuff were good, my doctor wasn't concerned. I'm sure you're fine!
Well I showed up today for the test-- it's 1 hour and I had Junie and a ton of stuff to keep her entertained while we waited-- and they said my appt is Thursday. I have it written in multiple places that it's for today, so I'm guessing they must have changed it without notifying me. The nurse I spoke with was very rude and unpleasant (like the nurses there usually are) the whole time, even though she could see I had my hands full. I'm pretty pissed. I made the switch to a midwife practice so that I would have a more personal and caring experience than I had at the practice I was at for Junie. I've had such bad luck so far finding good prenatal/delivery care!

That really sucks, Im sorry Go treat yourself to a coffee!!
That stinks! You'd think they'd try and fit you in seeing Junie there with you and all.
right!!! I just needed to drink the danged juice and then sit in the waiting room so they could take my blood after an hour. I'm not expecting ppl to bend over backwards for me, esp if I was in the wrong, but come on. Just take my freaking blood and let me move on with my life.

Yeah how hard would that really be. You don't even need to see a doc.

Wow I'd be so angry. The nurses need to get over themselves and do their jobs.

I would have been pissed! It's not like its a big deal to have your drink it and then sit there for an hour. Jerks!

I didn't even have to see a nurse. My dr ordered it and I went to a lab and could drop in anytime between certain dates. It was the same for the crazy long one too (because I was awesome and failed the first)
Ergo came out with a "natural curve" nursing pillow that I'm really tempted to try out... I HATED the boppy because I still had to slouch over for baby to reach my nipple and I could never get a good latch when she was on it. This seems to have good reviews, and I'd love to find something that would alleviate the terrible backaches I developed while breastfeeding. The things you learn and prioritize with the second kid...

It looks great! But I can't even imagine spending 70 dollars on a pillow!
That's my hesitation too. But we haven't needed to buy much else, so maybe it'll be worth it if it means I can nurse hands-free and not have back pain...? DH said we should get it and just return it if it's not magical lol.
I hated the boppy! I could never get DS up high enough/close enough to my boob comfortably when we were trying to breastfeed. I was thinking of looking into the my breast friend pillow to see if I might like it better. I'll have to check out the ergo one too!

Right, soon2bmrsn! I'm imagining I'm going to have to find some "hands-free" ways to nurse with Junie running around!
Oh yes! Feeding alone was the hardest part to figure out when #2 came along. But we all survived and so will you.
As far as the back pain goes, where were you doing most of your nursing if I can ask? I've found that couches, especially squishy comfy ones, and beds, tend to make the boppy all but useless. My favorite place to feed is in our wingback chair but any chair with good support should make the boppy easier to use. Just a thought. Back pain is no bueno.

I used a mombo which seemed to be a little stiffer and thicker than the Boppy, so that helped me quite a bit.
I would stalk online reviews and pick one up if it does what it says it will! especially if you haven't had to buy as much. I wouldn't feel bad splurging on a few things.
So 3 weeks pregnant. I took the test today because last time I was pregnant every time I flossed my gums would get swollen and red. Last night I flossed and today the same thing happened, which it hasn't since I gave birth. Even though my period isn't expected until the 5th, I thought wth and POAS anyway and a nice pink line popped up.
We're excited and a bit nervous but definitely thankful. I am so glad I get to go through this at the same time again as so many of you!
Edit- expected on 6-3, not the 5th. This momma can't count~
