I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes by starting this. My craft time is greatly restricted at the moment, so let me live vicariously through you guys, please.
What are you working on? What have you finished? Anything you can't wait to start? Any pictures?
In the past two weeks, the only real progress I made was on a sewing project for an upcoming wedding. I got all of my measurements and did a rough tacking of how I wanted it to sit so that I could make sure it looked like I envisioned before taking the scissors to it. The piece of fabric I was given for it could not be a better size purely by chance; I was shown an already cut piece of fabric and asked if I thought it would be the right amount, which I figured it was a size that could be worked with even if not 100% the right size, but it ended up being like it was sized for the exact project. I was trying to figure out a material to use for shaping it, and just as I was about to settle on wood dowels a bit thicker than I would have liked, I saw a wire hanger that had a piece cut off for some reason. As I was taking it to the recycling bin, I realized it was exactly what I had been searching for. Just need to make a few minor cuts and do the real sewing on it. I'm excited to see it come together and hope the bride loves it. Beyond that, I think I managed one whole row of stitches on my crocheted dish cloth, maybe I even squeaked out two. Lol. I bought new denim needles to fix my belt loop LO tugged off (it had been close to falling off before he tugged). I plugged in and turned on my new-to-me sewing machine. I pushed a few buttons to test things out, so basically I moved the needle up, down, left, and right. That all worked, so it looks promising that it may work. I had just finished threading it though when LO decided he wanted to start reading bedtime stories early, then life got more hectic the next morning, so there it sits. It is like taunting me because I am so close to knowing if it works well or not.
I'm still trucking along on prayer shawl 2.0. I bought a bunch of yarn at JoAnns on Memorial Day so I'm more motivated to get going.
Also, DH bought me an adult coloring book since I've been so wound up lately so I've been coloring pictures of cats. Or one picture. I'm still on the first one. It's so hard to pick the colors!
rooskie, I bought a bunch of different materials for projects recently too, and it is driving me crazy that I can't get going on much. Hopefully just a few more weeks, then I might get a bit more free time. In the meantime, we'll see how much I keep buying for future projects as that seems to be my outlet at the moment. I have a hard time picking things like colors and such too for a lot of things.

I've been stuck using white yarn for prayer shawls so I bought the brightest rainbow yarn I could find. I might start on something small for a car ride this weekend
I hate picking out fabric! I always second guess if patterns will go together. I have serious commitment issues there.

Fabric is my toughest for sure, especially right now because I am at a place where I want to grow my sewing skills quite a bit and have a lot of projects in mind to keep pushing myself a little more and a little more, so at least parts of many upcoming projects are using new skills. I don't want to cheap out on the fabrics because I want things to be nice quality, but I don't want to screw up on expensive fabric either. I have a hard time picking where in that middle ground area to go.
In the middle of the night last night, I also decided I think I want to make a quilt for LO's bed sometime as I got inspired for a neat idea that will go really well with the dresser I am planning to redo for him provided he still would like the theme once we pick out our next house to buy. I've never made a quilt, but I designed the whole darn thing last night. My creative juices are overflowing lately because I have been making dish cloth after dish cloth for my own needs as well as my mom's, so while I have been using colors, I get what you are feeling on the monotony of the prayer shawls (my mom and I like thinner and oversized dish cloths, so they aren't nearly as quick to make as the typical ones I see around - I can easily be working on the same exact one for two weeks).

If/when we finally get pregnant I want to DiY the nursery. The thought of picking out fabric already gets me anxious! I like using excel to plan out color sequences for geometrical designs. I'm a nerd like that but it helps

I am using moving as a good chance to DIY pretty much everything about LO's room.
We are cut from the same cloth because I love Excel so much. I used it to design the quilt mentioned above. I use it for 58394 things most people probably don't even know it can do. I recently discovered Excel on my tablet. I was ridiculously excited, and MH, even knowing my love for Excel, still looked at me like I had two heads for being so excited when I told him. I am a huge nerd too (as if I needed to state the obvious).

I'm the excel guru at work and I love it! I get frustrated when I don't get to use it in projects! I've been in pivot table land all week.
I finished my nephews quilt top and have it pinned. I decided to take a break from it for a while to work on someother things though. It has been going together really quickly so I don't feel too guilty about that. I also did up a in/out board for my office and am going to leap into some mini projects from pinterest. I think coasters might be on the schedule for this week.

I have my tree skirt top done and we are all sandwiches and ready to start quilting!
Edit: quilted in the ditch sort of because I was too lazy but mostly because I'm not confident in my FMQ skills. And I wanted to be done with this! Now it's trimmed and ready to be bound. I have to make the bias tape which I'll save for another night and then I can attach and turn and hand sew down. This picture is pre-trimming of the bottom. Tada!!

OOT all week for a wedding (nephew on DH's side, DD was the flower girl). It was beautiful and we had a great week in Ohio, but, I'm happy to be home. The week before, DH was OOT for work- and it was super busy (kids last week of school). I have gotten absolutely nothing done.
I will fire my kiln tomorrow to get a load of ceramics bisqued, and might get some sewing done tonight, but, that's about it.
