I keep checking in but haven't wanted to start a new thread...wanna share fun kid stories? Bud has started to kiss his toys good night - I don't mind the bears, the dinosaur and buzz light year, but I had to draw the line when he started in on the match box cars. There's too many!!
We took DS to the er last night for hives/rash. He seems better today. He got to play in an oatmeal bath tonight and I put a call in to an allergist. I'm not playing this game.
I'm here! Baby #2 is being evicted on Tuesday if s/he doesn't come before then. I think I may get a VBAC... or at least a trial of one.
I'm working from home today, my last day, mostly because I am out of warm weather maternity clothes to wear. Turns out it gets a lot hotter here between early May and Mid June, and I just can't wear long pants anymore. So yay for yoga pants and the couch!
Funny stories: A is so bossy! She is the decider of who owns things: "No Mommy. That's Daddy's backpack!" when I carried his bag upstairs. We're kind of raising a tattletale!
I went through her clothes recently to pack up the winter stuff and the getting too small stuff. I had it all in a bin on our upstairs landing so that DH could schlep it to the basement. She saw me looking for a pair of her bloomers in it one morning, and came over, pulled out a denim jumper, looked at me accusingly, and said "Dat's Avy's!" Then she insisted on wearing it even though it was a wee bit snug.
Daycare is starting to push potty training, which we have not really followed up with, but she is getting really interested in sitting on the potty. The problem is that she needs to take off her shorts and diaper, sits on the potty for 5 seconds, then stands up and wipes, puts the TP in the big toilet, then sits down again for a few seconds, stands up, wipes, and repeat for 10-15 minutes until DH and I have to insist on taking the potty away. So now I'm worried that we're giving her a complex about it. She has occasionally gotten some pee in the potty though.
missk0411 I wouldn't say our daycare is pushing the potty training, exactly, but since the other three kids in his little group are potty training, they're asking him if he wants to try, and we've actually had several successes in just the last 3 days. Since he's our first, we're now scrambling to figure it all out. We have had a home potty for him for awhile, and since his success at daycare, he's peed in the one at home too - I sit on our toilet next to him and give him board books to look at to distract him while he goes. I haven't decided yet whether I want to go all in and put him in big boy underwear - I mean, he hasn't pooped in a potty yet so it seems premature.
Never thought my H and I would spend so much time discussing someone else's poop.
I'm here! Glad to hear some updates from you guys. LO had her 2 year visit at the pedi this week (we were a little late on that one). No concerns, still tall and skinny, 90th for height and 25th for weight. She did great with the visit though right in the middle she started saying bye-bye and waving at the doctor. I guess she was done!
Another funny story I just thought of: I have Syracuse t-shirt with a big "S" on the back. I was wearing it recently and LO started saying "Mama has a big S" which came out exactly like "Mama has a big ass." And she said it over and over since DH and I kept laughing. Hope she didn't go repeating that at daycare.
missk0411, So exciting that you are so close! Sending thoughts for an easy labor...or easy c-section if that's how it goes.
3timemom, Sorry about your LO! It's sometimes so hard to figure out what's causing hives. Hope the allergist helps.

Clearly I haven't been here for awhile. But I'm still around.
DS's latest thing is "daddy's new truck". DH got a new truck (clearly) at the end of May and it's all DS can talk about. It was brutal the first few days when I would have to put him in my boring and not new car.
He is also become super independent, so I think we hear "I do it" a million times a day.
sudokufan, DS has started the potty thing at daycare too and now every time we put him on the toilet he goes. He also has started telling us IMMEDIATELY after he poops and demanding to be changed "new dipes Momma, new dipes" (we have called diapers dipes forever!). We are definitely not considering the switch to underwear soon, but I'm worried this is giving me false hope he'll officially potty train before 3!
