You and me both. I have a feeling you wish it were MUD. I know I wish mine was!
I hope the foot/ankle checks out ok! FWIW- they often times but breaks & sprains in walking boots now unless they're really severe. FX whatever it is, it's mild!

I'm just going to leave this awkward family photo link right here. I'm alternating between terrified and dying laughing. Who wants to reenact one of these?

More of a rant than a random, but if I have to hear MIL go on about how 'advanced' my nephew is compared to DS I am going to snap. Yes, nephew is four months younger than DS and is almost walking when DS is just starting to pull himself up, but all babies are different and being 2 months premature, DS had other concerns when he was born than being the wonder baby... like growing! He will walk when he is ready and not a moment sooner! Rant over
Resume question: I'm still using the same email address I created in college as my main email address. It's not embarrassing, but it's not my name or anything close. Should I use this one to put on my resume, the one from my joint email with DH (which contains part of my name), or create a new one?
@disneypeanut I would create a new one. I've read that's something employers do look at when screening up front. Nobody wants to hire spongebobsquarepants420@hotmail.com.

I'd create one with your name. I used my high school email address until I started applying for jobs in law school then I created one with my name, which was recommended by our career development office. I think it looks more professional.
Good news: I found a way out of going to this meeting!
Bad news: it's because DH has a meeting that takes precedence. So while I will be home for her brithday, DH will miss the whole thing.
Good news: I told the coworker what is going on and he's fine with it.
Bad news: I still have to tell my boss who is NOT going to be happy.
Good news: I texted the hiring manager for the new position and he said this: Rich was on vacation this week and is getting back later today. I have to discuss with him today or Monday
Bad news: I was c&ping that to text to DH and accidentally texted the hiring manager instead
Good news: I didn't text THAT to the manager, I texted the second line I wrote which is "is what he said" which makes NO sense
Bad news: I feel like a total idiot
soooooo that's that! My follow up text to the manager just said "oops! that makes sense, looking forward to hearing from you". No text back yet.
You're so precious. I just want to feed you cupcakes and brush your hair.
Ugh I am so uncomfortable about my texting error. I am DYING. It clearly looks like I was c&ping! I am mortified.
@elf828 Don't be so hard on yourself.
1. You didn't say anything incriminating or insulting.
2. Of course you have family that knows about you applying and eagerly awaiting a decision; you are human. I would hope that the hiring manager would realize that as well.
Funny story... When I was running that daycare my employees would text me if they were running late or calling off in the MOTN or something... So I had someone call off, tell me they were sick with a description of what was happening... So of course I told them feel better etc... I texted back in the morning... which was hours later...
I guess they had been texting someone else when mine came in because I got a reply with them making plans for that day to go to Kings Island (local amusement park) hahaha!
I responded how nice it was that they were feeling good enough to go to the park, after their shift at the DC that day...
They were probably pretty pissed at for sending it... but I just laughed about it... the person on the receiving end is human too... we all make mistakes...
On the same note... I once texted an employee a message that was meant for DH about a doctors appointment... they were confused about why I wanted them to meet me at 1pm at the baby doctor... oops.

My boss is in his boss's office right now in front of me telling her I've put in my resignation. They've been in there a really long time. What could they possibly be discussing?! EEEEEEK.
ETA: her office is in front of my desk. the walls are glass (frosted in the middle and clear on the bottom). Neither of them have moved in quite awhile and I can hear her deep booming voice. She hasn't stopped talking for several minutes.
I don't know the details yet. The Commander told me. I have to wait until next week when my boss is back from vacation to find out what's up. I'm guessing no severance since it will be the end of the contract, but I don't know.
((hugs)) avswolf I hope this turns out to be a positive thing for you. Less creepy creepers and more time to focus on photography? I know that if you go looking, you'll find something though... who wouldn't want you working for them?
