My fun weekend plans - my folks are coming for a visit tomorrow, and I'd told DH I would like to do something fun with him tonight. He said he will plan the evening, so I can't wait to find out what we're doing!

So happy to see so many RN's who are moms here! I went per diem during my pregnancy so I'm only during 2 3-11's a week. Then I'll start looking for a new job. I currently work on a busy( even busier during flu season) med/surg unit. I've been picking up 4 hr shifts so it's going to be weird to actually work a full shift
Hey ladies! It's taking me longer than usual to get on here. I'm trying to figure it all out. Looks like so many of us made it over so that's awesome! So glad to see you all!
pixie523 I ran too! But all that sports bra talk? Yeah, I wore one of the old ones. It chafed my collar raw! I shoulda worn a dirty new one I will be having multiple beers!
zengal good for us!! I will always wear a dirty sports bra over one that's remotely uncomfortable. I figure I'm going to stink at the end anyway! Might as well stink at the beginning too.

zengalpixie523 This might be a dumb question, and it may have been discussed. Speaking of sports bras and running, I always have to wear 2 because I've always been well endowed. Will tight fitting sports bras and all the jostling hurt milk supply or anything?

I am not the lady to ask about supply because mine blows. But! It hadn't blown more since the sports bras?

lissydee I'm sorry- that sucks. I meant to ask: When you float, what does that mean? That you're not assigned a specific set of rooms but just help out other nurses when needed?

I go to another unit that is short staffed.
But get this. They (other unit) just sent a LNA on a fucking Dunkin Donut run off campus. Umm what?! Why am I even here if you have the staff to go on a coffee run?! I'm pissed. And i sure as shit reported that to my manager.

Went grocery shopping today and wore LO so I'd have the whole cart. He always sleeps in the carrier so I can keep him pretty well covered. An old lady walked by with a concerned face and told me he's "too little to be out". Thanks random lady, I guess we'll just starve at home a few more months until you think he's old enough to be out?

So... H and I decided to have him and M both stay home tomorrow when I go to my workshop. I'm both nervous and excited! I get to go be me for two hours and not be mom!! I'm worried that M will get hungry, but I have milk in the freezer and I dug out the one bottle that we got given (it's brand new). M has never had a bottle before, but he refuses to wean off the shield, so we hope that means he will take a bottle. If need be H can syringe feed him. I'll only be 15 minutes away if something goes way wrong... And M might not want to eat anyway since I'll probably be gone for only 3 hours.
Gah, I'm way over thinking this. But I'm really happy I get to go and dip my toes back into my professional life.
HutterFlutter I know tight-fitting bras are supposed to be a no-no, but for just a short time? It seems like it shouldn't be that bad. I know last weekend after my run I fed baby and still felt full so I pumped, and got a whole bunch. I'm sorry pixie523; I feel bad saying this with your supply woes
lissydee That blows that you're floating for no reason! And that we're talking about Dunkin donuts again -
cocogelato I really hope you said that to random old lady!
