zengal yes that shower. It went surprising well for what I was imagining. I think she was disappointed/confused because she didn't get lingerie. I'm surprised she got zero but you could see the the wtf on her face when one gift was kitchen utensils. Ha. She did call me upset last night because the bridesmaid dresses came in and one girl doesn't know if she can afford the other half of her dress. She's also the girl who tried to back out of the wedding because she can't afford it but the bride wouldn't let her and offered to help out with some things (this was after dresses were ordered). Kind of a shitty deal all around because money is never a fun subject but the bride straight up said "well I know so and so bridesmaids mom would pay for her dress. I'm being so nice about everything and I don't think $300 is asking to much if anyone. That's not that much money." Uh yeah that is a lot of money. Especially when you just decided to go back to college. Wow that turned into a rant. It was a way better than expected but I was still annoyed with some things. I'm such a bad friend.
Oh and drive was pretty good. She slept the whole way there. On the way back we had to stop once because she was crying because she was tired. So we hung out for a little bit and then start d up again and she was crying but I knew she was fighting it really hard so thankfully that only lasted less than five minutes and then she was out. So good! Oh I forgot to add. I thought it was strange that when the bride was opening cards she would take the money and gift cards out and put them in a pile. There was even one that was cash in a bank envelope and she took it out of the envelope and looked at the bills to see how much was in there. Maybe it's just me, but in those situations I always leave everything on the cards and go back later to look at it. I mean, yeah I want to know how much money is in there, but I would never gather it up and count in front of everyone!
Yeah sadie74 there are definitely some courtesy issues with that girl (noticing that doesn't make you a bad friend; it makes you a conscientious person), so that's great that it exceeded your expectations! How funny that she made a face at kitchen utensils! The shower I was at was all cheese spreaders and garden flags and such. pixie523 I drank your share of beers, no worries. You do what you gotta do and the beers will be okay until you return. jjh1119 Maybe your breakfasts will be yogurt and fruit and veggie sausage biscuits?
