Things have been a little crazy but in a good way. Work is picking up. I am so excited that the President has so many projects for me to run. I am so busy. I love it! Also, in 2 weeks I will no longer be a temp!
Isaac has been napping in the nursery. We have talked about moving him in there for nights. I am so nervous for this but he is getting too big for the mini crib.
Random for today: I love SNL! I could watch their political satire all the time. Also I just love their digital shorts. Will Ferrell is my favorite.
Good crazy work is a nice situation to be in songbirdsinging55! As is full employee status Baby had a major poo 20 minutes before my alarm was set to go off. I didn't go back to bed because that seemed silly. If I don't make it on time to work today...!

Been MIA, work is the poo and has been super busy. Home, dinner and watching the back of my eyelids after that every day. Don't know how much longer I can keep this up. My commute took me almost three hours yesterday morning.
SS has a sleepover this weekend so its "almost" date night. Probably cook up something delicious for dinner and relax in the hot tub!! Jeez what we went through to get this thing up and running. Our landlord never winterized it correctly so a piece of the heater broke and we just got it fixed. Should be good to go tomorrow. zengal, night poops are the worst!! LO gives me a surprise every so often. It's like a stealth poop. It doesn't stink like usual so if I'm not careful and j think it's just a pee diaper I move a little faster, I've almost flung poo a few times by accident.
Oh and LO is 8 months today. I'd like time to slow down, please and thanks!!!
DD took her usual 3 naps yesterday. The only problem was that her last one was from 8-10 PM. She then ate and was almost completely out until I went to go lay her down. DH was up with her until 12:30 (he claims 2:30 but I'm pretty sure it was 12:38 when he came in). We really need to get into a better summer routine. She did so much better during the school year with sleeping.
This afternoon is going to be tough. I'm driving a friend and her cat to the vet. She's having to put the cat down and doesn't trust herself to drive home. Losing pets is awful.
@songbirdsing55 glad that work is the good kind of busy for you. My job tends to be like that a lot and I love it.
littleapplemom I hope that your work commuting situation gets fixed soon! And I am also amazed at how fast the last 8 months have gone by. It is so amazing how much the babies have changed over the last several months.
MsNicole06 establishing a routine can be challenging, but I think it makes everything so much easier overall.
songbirdsinging55 wow this job sounds like the perfect fit for you! The great crib transition is definitely tough. But it's good! Really.
I don't like SNL but I do like will Ferrell!
zengal boo for the poo! But the question is- did you make it on time?
littleapplemom hi! I hate your commute :-( three hours one way sucks. Is there no way to move? Mikey is adorable!
MsNicole06 I hope the nap schedule works better today and good luck today with your friend. So tough. :-(
Second attempt at the pancakes were a win. I used the batter from yesterday that was nicely rested and then whipped two egg whites to soft peaks and folded them in. Perfect fluffy pancakes!
Liam slept super crappy last night but is napping now. Time to work.
@msnicole06 sending Ts & Ps to your friend. You're a great friend for taking her.
littleapplemom love that pic! He looks like a happy boy!
It's getting ready to rain here, not what we need at all. So tired of the rain ugh. I'm rocking LO into a nap, then I'll nap with him. I need to go to a couple stores today, looking for a pet gate to use as a baby gate -- obscure entry way and I think a pet gate will work better.
Last week I had my annual check-up with my ob/gyn. She felt a lump in my breast and ordered an ultrasound. She said it is probably nothing to be alarmed about but wants to get it checked out. The ultrasound is scheduled for mid-July. Pretty shitty that I have to wait a whole month before I can begin to get answers. Outside of telling my husband, we haven't talked too much about it. When my husband catches me feeling the lump, he tells me to stop and try not to worry. I think he just wants to keep us both distracted so we don't go down the path of scary what-ifs. But I have gone there a few times and it scares me. Like 95% of the time I am able to shrug it off since I realize the risk of it being anything serious is pretty low. But that other 5% of the time I can really freak myself out. I am sure my husband feels that same but isn't telling me - he tends to be the type that worries himself sick (he was a bit of a wreck during l&d).

sjp03, t&p's for you! I have had a few scares and definitely have family history with breast cancer so I know how scary it can be! But do know it's probably just precautionary measures. Is there any way that you can request an ultrasound earlier? Waiting a month will certainly be grueling. but yeah try not to think about (impossible I know) and hopefully this month will go by quickly. ((Hugs))
KMW08,Rain totally puts a damper on things. Are you a SAHM? Enjoy the nap!
sjp03, Back when I was 21? or so. I found a lump and went to the ob. He seemed concerned, but not too bad. He told me to make an appointment for a diagnostic ultrasound rather than just calling in for one to get in faster. Turns out it is just a cyst. It's still there and sometimes I still freak out and then remember that I have it. I was told I may develop more as I get older. Almost 10 years later and I still have just the one. I wouldn't go crazy thinking about it. Keep us posted. a LOT of lumps are just that- lumps. Are you BFing? Could it be a clogged duct instead? Perhaps a clogged duct that never released itself and sort of just dried up?

songbirdsinging55, We transitioned Levi to his crib around 4 months (stupidest time to it btw... but somehow we made it through). I was nervous at first... but it felt so great to be alone with my husband in our room. It wasn't even a sexual thing... it was more about having OUR space back. It's worth it even though it's scary.
zengal, My son poos at 5 am every morning!! It is SO annoying!!!!
littleapplemom, Your little guy is SO expressive and cute! ps jealous of your hot tub time.
MsNicole06, I'll be thinking of your friend today. Losing an animal can be so tough! I am glad that she has you there with her though.
KMW08, Yep... I'll we've had here is rain also. I REALLY just want to go for a walk and not worry if Levi is going to get rained on.
Well yesterday was actually overcast but no rain (like the only day this week). Levi went swimming for the first time. He was pretty nervous at first but ended up really liking it . He had another first... He's been raising his arms for me to pick him up in the last week or so. But yesterday was the first time that he was being held by someone else and very noticeably leaned out of her arms and stretched out for me (sorry sister... but he wants me more ) I know it sounds silly but it was so gratifying that he wanted me. Oh and even better... for his night time routine MH reads to him while I hold him and typically I rock him to sleep (yep we're still doing this :/ ) but when MH was saying goodnight to him he raised his arms and wanted him to hold him. H was like... oh I guess he wants me to rock him to sleep LOL... go right ahead hubby. You won't hear me complain .
singingmama10 while it would be nice to have the ultrasound earlier and get answers now, my schedule is pretty busy over the next couple weeks so I will be distracted.
jjh1119 I actually first noticed the lump several month ago, a couple months after I began bfing. I thought it could be related to a clogged duct (even though there is absolutely no pain). I never noticed it prior to my milk coming in, so I never thought it was something to ask the doctor about.
I have very little family history of breast cancer. I am not sure of the other risks, but I always thought of myself as low risk.
sjp03, I hope that it is just a clogged duct that maybe never made its way out Glad you'll be busy over the next couple of weeks, will help make the time go by faster.
So the 4th of July is HUGE in my area. Like, HUGE. We normally have like, I don't know a population of 150k? but from last week until a few days after the 4th we get over 1 million people in our area. This makes for a fun time, crazy traffic, but a lot of things to do. I'm thinking of bringing Liam to some of the events this year. But next year we will go all out. What is it like in your area? I know some places its basically like oh we have a cookout on the day, lol. So what are you guys doing?
sjp03, I'm so sorry you're going through this! So many T&P for you! Would it be possible to get on a wait list so if someone cancels their appointment you could get in earlier just for peace of mind?
singingmama10, that's not silly at all! I love it when DD reaches for me!
I feel like it's been forever since I've been on here. Life has just been crazy busy lately. I'm on this weekend for work and so is DH, and there's this big rock concert in town all weekend and that always brings in a lot of extra patients at work. I'm soooo not looking forward to it.
sjp03, milky boobs are lumpy boobs. thinking of you, but just remind yourself that each time you get a little anxious.
Friends, doing much much better today. Thanks for all the empathy yesterday. Tonight H picks LO up from the sitter. I'm going to leisurely stroll home. My boss is out today. I'm well reseted even though LO has a cold and was up twice last night to snore at my face/get her boogers sucked/do pull ups in her crib.
songbirdsinging55, tell me more about Isaac growing out of the mini crib? we currently use a mini crib too (bought crib when we lived in a 1 bedroom apartment, didn't have room for a full sized crib) and I was hoping we'd be able to use it until at least 18 months old... how long is Isaac?
jjh1119 4th of July is big here too. Everyone does fireworks, and like not even just that day. Like the whole week before, and some after. It's a whole weekend affair for my family. Everyone comes in town, and we do a pool party, fireworks, games outside, and fishing. It's a lot of fun.
MsNicole06 GL this afternoon! Losing pets is always very sad.
sjp03 T&Ps. I hope it's nothing. A month is a long time to wait! But that probably means the doctor isn't too worried about it.
singingmama10 We also transitioned LO to the crib in her own room at 4 months. I love it, it's so nice to not have to worry about waking her up all the time. And I totally agree with you about having our space back.
Nursing has been SO frustrating the last couple of days. Really everything with LO has been. She's whining all the time, waking up all the time at night, and fighting naps like crazy. And when she's nursing, it's been hurting a lot. I think she's getting lazy and doing a shallow latch because it just feels like she's pinching me all the time. Plus the constant popping on and off, squirming, kicking me, and trying to stick fingers in her mouth. Ugh. Thanks for listening to me whine. On the plus side, she's learning to sit up really well. I'm mainly excited about this milestone because it means I can put her in the front of the grocery cart soon instead of wearing her in the store. Haha.
jjh1119 unfortunately, I'm not a sahm. I'm an xray tech at an urgent care & only work 3.5days a week
I don't know what we will do on the 4th. I originally was supposed to be working, but now am off due to schedule changes. Probably goto dh's gma's for a bbq.
Post by jax1182014 on Jun 25, 2015 12:48:18 GMT -5
nerdalert I went through a frustrating nursing period too. I get kicked, hit, and scratched. I new when A was getting a tooth when she would suck a few times then pop off and cry. It's so sad
MsNicole06,so sorry about your friend's cat. Hope your schedule gets better.
jjh1119,I hate it too, no way to move closer to my job. I work in NYC and live in the most suburbian borough of the five at the absolute furthest part of it. Rent is astonomical in the city and there are only a few ways for me to get there, all of them expensive and time consuming. I'm really waiting on DH to make a move because he's the higher salary and based on what he ends up getting will determine what I do to make up the balance. I'm looking at a career change really, just waiting it out for DH to make the big bucks. Unfortunately jobs like his are harder to get and take a lot of buttering up senior execs. He has some irons in the fire but it could be another 5 or 6mos before he sees any progress. In the long run, not a long time to get to where we want to be but still frustrating as heck. 4th of July, not a good time around our parts. Bad history, my grandmother and DH's grandfather passed on the same day (we didn't know eachother yet), my uncle got into a pretty bad accident one year, my sister was speared in the head with a sparkler one year. We just BBQ and stay in. PS...your pancakes sound like they'd make awesome waffles too.
sjp03,Sending good vibes your way. Hope it's nothing. Why do DH's have to be such worry warts? singingmama10,Love me some baby reaches. Dh is usually playing with LO on the floor when I get home and he races to me doing his little army crawl. Cutest ever, heart melts.
pixie523, Glad you're feeling better....quiet walk FTW. nerdalert, squirmy worms...so tiring. I feel your pain. Can't get LO to stay on his back on the changing table anymore, I think it's a goner. I'm too scared he's going to fall off because he's so active.
I made it to work on time! littleapplemom cutie-patootie 8-month pic! sjp03 oh dear; I'm so sorry about the scare. Many many good thoughts being sent your way~ I'm excited about the 4th! The fireworks stands have already gone up and we'll start to hear and see them every night for a while. I'm taking off early on Thursday, so I'll have a three-and-a-half day weekend! We're going out to my IL's land to shoot off our own fireworks. I've ordered baby some ear protection that should be here today. Fireworks are cool, but top-notch barbecue and beer are even cooler!! It has been forever kaimee27! Hope your weekend turns out better than you expect it to. Hooray for a better today pixie523! Stroll ever so leisurely ~~ nerdalert I've never seen Hot Rod- but now I have something to put on the list! Oh, the constant popping on and off nursing. Sooo annoyed with that. I told MH not to talk to me during because she turns her head at any sound. And the fingers too, ugh! I guess it's all developmental if it's common?

jjh1119 4th of July isn't a huge deal here. Our city was on a list of the 10 worst places to celebrate a holiday but we make lists for hosting amazing sports tournaments. Go figure. Well host the family cook out for DHs family and this year my parents who will be down by me.
nerdalert the front of a shopping cart is amazing. DD loves it because she can see so much more. She's constantly looking around and leaning to the side to see around who's ever pushing her.
Driving by. Will reply better later. MY KID IS CRAWLING ALL OVER THE LIVING ROOM
It's the best/worst!
His most favorite place to crawl to? The glider so he can try to stick his hand in there. No child. It's the ONLY unsafe spot in the damn room. I'm going to have to move it.
littleapplemom wow yeah I would not want to do that every day. Also I live in the tiniest of towns so NYC Is like he most overwhelming place to me Also very sorry that the upcoming holiday doesn't bring good memories
Also diaper changes are on the floor. No more changing tables- dangerous
nerdalert I was so excited when liam could fit in the cart. Wearing is all good but so much better in the cart to shop and grab things. I have one of the cover thingies and it really helps him to stay in the right spot.
KMW08 I'm not a sahm either but only WFH and work at a salon a day and a half. It's a good balance.
