Have any of you bought teething necklaces? I am considering it but it seems like it might be annoying to have a teething toy yanking on my neck.
My sister gave me one. I'm meh on it. Biggest problem is just remembering to consistently wear it around the house. DS will start chewing on my hair and I'll realize the necklace is on the other side of the house and I'm too lazy to get it. When I do wear it, DS is 50/50 on being interested in it at all. Now that DS wants to be constantly on the move and not held, I wouldn't bother with one.

I have a couple. They are the chew beads ones. K loves them. It doesn't really feel like she is yanking on my neck because they are long. I have a mint one that most people think is just a regular necklace.
My rainbow arrived 10/15/14.

i didn't because I don't want S to get in the habit of thinking it's acceptable to put my necklaces in his mouth Some of them are quite pretty though!
That is a really good point. ...Although M still goes for my actual jewelry. So far I have just had the policy of taking off all jewelry upon entering my house after work. He even managed to take off a stud earring and try to eat it!

No for the following reasons: I'm nervous about it being a strangulation risk, I don't think daycare would like it, I think our older son would pull on it, I really don't believe it could work. Mostly because of the first reason - I would be nervous letting him sleep with it.
I have a question regarding cats... maybe swise22 can help.
I think one of our cats may have "sprayed" or urinated at the top of our stairs. The problem is I don't know where and the smell is terrible. Cat smell is the worst smell in the world to me and I cannot stand it! We have cleaned the carpets and It didn't seem to help. I read that you can use a black light to find the spot, does anyone know if that is true?
Then if we find the spot or spots what is the BEST thing to get that smell out? I don't want to be the smell cat people
So when we were trying to put our house on the market, we discovered Lucy had sprayed all along the office corner for quite some time. We had the pros come in and clean and it still didn't get everything out. We just need to replace the pad.
But the carpet guy said Nature's Miracle is your best bet. Spray a ton of that stuff in the affected area and just let the enzymes work. Don't wet it, don't rub it. You can blot spots with a towel, but that's about it. He also said Rug Doctors just add water to your carpet, which can actually make the stain worse.
Then get a deterrent spray so your cat doesn't keep marking. Because once they've claimed it, they will keep thinking it's okay to pee there.
I came in with the intention of working a ton and all I've done is worry about insurance/my car accident from a while ago and worry about vaganus surgery. Currently eating. Still need to work.
It's still in limbo. I asked to see the clinic (they had me interview at a different clinic because of physician availability). I pushed that out until next Monday. Then I have my second interview with another group today. I hope I'm not pissing the fist group off with my delay though......

I have one. It can be annoying to get yanked on. But if she's really yanking I just take it off for her to chew on. (Obviously I'm usually still holding her or sitting right next to her to ensure she doesn't strangle herself). I really like it though because if we're running errands and I wear her I don't have to worry about having a paci and clip with me.

Also this- mine are long so it doesn't feel like they are being yanked.

Ugh cat pee is the worst. Is your cat fixed? That can sometimes take away most of the terrible smell. As far as finding the spot, I've never heard of using the black light but it wouldn't hurt to try. We use enzymatic cleaners at work to help get rid of the smell. They sell them at a lot of pet stores.
My cat was on a tear this morning at 5:30. He loves to bang on the baby's door to get our attention for food (by our I mine mine). I hate him some. He too begs for food and then throws up everything.
I have two teething necklaces. One pops off as soon as he tugs on it so it is annoying. But the other I really like and it was a good distraction at the airport/plane.
B will be 9 months tomorrow and no teeth. But he does just fine with food. I can pretty much give him tiny bites of whatever we are eating (in fact, he insists that we share)
DD is almost 9 months with no teeth. She does enjoy food though. I'm a wimp though so I hardly ever give her foods that aren't super soft. She eats puffs like nobody's business though. She was double fisting them last night. I had to take some away or she would have had like 7 in her mouth at one time.

DS will be 8 months on Sunday and he has two teeth. I'm a big wimp too. DS mostly gets organic baby food with little tastes of my food here and there. I have choking fears so I give him either super tiny bites or giant BLW style things.
The lack of teeth hasn't slowed him down at all with solids. We are feeding him almost anything we eat. Either tiny pieces or huge pieces he can gnaw on. He literally eats anything! It's the nicest change after 2 yrs with a picky eater with texture issues!!!
I have seen several of you talk about puffs. Any specific recommendations?
I just buy the Gerber ones. They're not the most nutritious of things but I was at my wits end trying to get dd to eat ANYTHING at almost 7 months old and she would do puffs. Now that she eats other things I give them as a "treat".

she eats plain cheerios too
I didn't realize our babies were able to eat Cheerios at this stage!

They are both fixed, but I swear I still smell something... Maybe I am overly sensitive to it. I ordered black light to try it out and see if I find anything.
So I managed to get my MIL to meet me at the daycare to pick up lo so I can go to a book club tonight!! Adult time for me!! It is with people from my office but it is something different that my normal routine.
The book was not my fave but I read it anyway. It was the first and only book I have managed to read since having B.
Oh and my super cute 32 week pregnant friend cracked me up today...she told me that if I needed help with 's 1st Bday she could help because she will be at home on maternity leave with nothing to do...bahahahaha.

Our ped said by 8 months there really are no restrictions on anything unless it's an obvious choking hazard (I'm thinking jelly beans for example). Our baby loves Cheerios. I would do them over puffs personally for nutritional value
. Our older son wouldn't eat anything but we had a breakthrough with puffs. We would give him anything out of desperation for him to eat
