Dd has been paci free for three days. It wasn't all too difficult other than DD used to nap 2 hours and nighttime sleep about 12. 14 total a day. Now without the paci she doesn't map and only sleeps about 8-10 hours a night.
Keep trying without the paci? Give it back so she sleeps more?

My DD really never took a paci so this is purely an opinion. I wouldn't give the paci back if she has been without it for 3 days. I would give her more time to get used to it & hopefully her sleep will get back to normal.

We are waiting until after the move and transition to the big boy bed before attempting to drop the paci so I have no actual experience ... But I am leaning toward sticking it out. Only three days out I would not expect sleep to be back to normal. I would think the transition could take a week or two. Obviously they need sleep and going from 14 hours to 8-10 sucks big time but if you really want to try to break the habit give it a few more days to see what she does.
That being said DS LOVES his paci. It is going to be a tough thing to break just like bottles. But he dropped bottles on his own by 18 months so some days I really lean toward letting him drop the paci on his own. I'm going to try to wean him once we are settled in the new house but I have a feeling he will just want to do it on his own and I feel like pushing it just makes it worse!

DD has recently dropped from 10 to 8 hrs sleep at night; still naps about 2hrs a day. She hasn't slept more than 12 hours since she went down to one nap.
I think she's just getting ready to lose her nap, and am hoping she'll go back to 10 hrs at night.
Well we've had a ridiculous schedule the past few days too so that hasn't helped DD. Put up aluminum foil to black out the bedroom and that seems to be helping at night.
Stayed paci free and I think it's going okay. Hopefully our move next month/transition to different bed goes okay.
