akraus2015 I'm so sorry! That's so stressful. FX they resolve soon! Is there any chance of taking a couple days off work and putting yourself on modified bed rest through the weekend? (That might be totally impossible, or you might already be doing that, just thinking out loud!)
Had an appt yesterday and it went very well! I had an ultrasound on 6/18 and thought I would be around 7 weeks, but they only measured me at 5w6d, with a slow heartbeat. It really freaked me out. I went yesterday again to see if it was viable and measured at 7w 4d with a hb of 150! We are over the moon excited. Turns out i just had my bfp super early around 3w 1-2 days. Due date is now 2/12.
Update from yesterday: The doctor called with my ultrasound results. She confirmed the heartbeat and said that 110 bpm was normal, but said that they saw a 2nd hemorrhage, so now there are two. She kinda acted like I wasn't taking the pelvic rest seriously, and said that if they aren't any better by my next appt that they're going to put me on full bed rest.
This seriously sucks so bad. I don't know how I can be more careful than I already am...

I actually thought about it. I don't know if that would be overkill, or if it would even help. It's interesting that you suggested it though because I was kind of thinking about taking the rest of the week off.

akraus2015, how frustrating to hear that news! Sorry. A few days of self-prescribed super rest might not be a bad idea (I'm not a doctor, but that was my thought as well). Good luck.
akraus2015 I don't think it would be overkill at all if it is possible for you. If you could rest with your feet up for 5 days it might really help. And if it helps avoid months of bed rest in the future I think it is totally worth it. I'm sorry you're going through this! Thinking of you!
Curious newb: I know every doctor is different, but looking for an average idea:
How long was this first appt (It seems like some have a quick confirmation and then leave, and others are getting the full "First OB Patient" visit)? I'm returning to my OB from my first pregnancy. Our "first appt" was a phone call to verify history and questions etc close to 7weeks. then I had my 8week appt which was pee in cup, dating ultrasound, (bonus pap), and blood draw. Do they do the u/s first and then the rest of the visit based on what they see? Nope. Same order I listed above. Ultrasound last in the room. Then walked over to labs for blood. What else should I maybe be expecting? This is the same order of operations as last time. So expect it to be brief and always keep a running list of questions for next visit. Also - mine was with the NP not my OB. I'll see my OB on my 12week appt.
THERE'S A BABY IN THERE. Measured 7w3d with a hb of 156. I'm so freaking excited.
As to the question on the first visit, it really depends on your clinic. Mine lasted an hour and a half. We went over personal and family history, testing options, questions, etc. She did a vaginal u/s and took measurements, let us listen to the hb, and gave us pictures. However, I don't think this is the norm. My OB seems to go above and beyond (which is why I love her).
Wahoo to everyone who is getting good ultrasounds this week!! Lots of good news!!
akraus2015 I hope it will resolve very soon! And I have to agree, I think if you do go the extra mile so to speak it might be just what you need to improve. It's worth a shot! And hey, if anything you can even go back to the doctor and say you did go that route to show him you are serious.
Super late to the game due to work but I'm so excited for everyone's positive updates and akraus2015 I hope you can get some solid bed rest to take care of those hemorrhages. That sounds terribly frustrating!
My appointment today went well! I got to see my little nugget again. The baby is measuring right where it should be to the day, is 18mm CRL, and has a heart rate in the 160s. The Dr said the umbilical cord and spine look great (yay!) and she showed me where the baby's little limbs and head are. And my blood clot went down! It's still there but likely healing. She said it's just kind of "hanging out" but not actively bleeding. Great news and fingers crossed this progress keeps up. Thanks everyone for your well wishes and positive vibes! Here's my little babe:
