Wow! That thread hurt my head. So many bad names and horrible ways of spelling names. I hope these people realise the impact this will have on their kids in the future.

Ooooh, there are some new train wrecks to laugh at:
"My other two have unique names but I don't think they are too wild (Kohen and Palyn). So we want to go with something as unique as theirs and nothing too ordinary."
Like someone previously said... I always stop and think, What if she (he?) were the CEO of a company? Will their name be strong and respectable? I know we aren't defined by our names, but we live in a society where you only have less than 30 seconds to make a first impression.
Even as a teacher, I am always excited to get my class list and some times I cover up the m/f column and play the guessing game! Too many times, I am wrong

" Sawyer Maelynn and Dylin Maelynn for a girl."
"I want a unisex name Jaxon Greear for a girl."
Do people honestly not know that naming a child Cohen is controversial and disrespectful? The Kohen spelling makes it even worse. I don't even know what Palyn is. Like Sarah Palin? Yikes.

My guess is that it's like Palin. Yowza.
As for Cohen, I think some people live in a bubble and don't realize the controversy. I remember it becoming popular when The OC was on because of Seth Cohen.
nervously raises hand: can someone explain the Cohen thing to me?
I'm not Jewish, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand, Cohen is a priestly caste in Judaism. It's basically a holy title so Gentiles using it on their kids because they think it sounds cute is offensive to many. Google "Cohen baby name controversy" and you'll probably get better info but basically it's generally thought of as tacky to use as a name.

I picked up on Palyn that way too. Even if it isn't inspired by Sarah Palin it definitely brings her to mind instantly.
