We just watched fireworks from our backyard- nothing too exciting.
DD2 is having surgery to repair a few hernias- umbilical and intestinal. Her surgery is in less than 2 weeks.
The girls are in church camp this week so I have a few mornings of child-free time. I've been in my garden. My garden is producing so well! I actually grew cucumbers for the first time! I'm going to try my hand at pickles. I'm pretty sure it is because we haven't gotten too hot so far this year- no 100* temps yet. Gardens don't do well when it is 100*!
DD2 is trying my nerve. I really do not like this age. Plus she still cries all the time. She's just very difficult and I am having a hard time with her.
My 4th of July was good. We went to a fair that the ILs were working and had delicious shakes. We then visited my husband's grandmother. B normally cries when we see her, but we put a pic of grandma at B's level at our house and B had a great visit this time.
Ohh the suspense crunchy. Good luck to DD2 on her surgery. Hope it goes quickly and she has a smooth easy recovery. Mmm shakes PA Mom. Oh by the way I caved and reactivated my facebook.

Haha! While we are trying for #3 it took a long time for DD1 and DD2 so I have no hopes for a quick BFP#3. And my news isn't guaranteed yet so I don't want to spill beans.
Our plans for the 4th were rained out, so we had a lazy day at home and H went out to get us Panera for lunch. Then we took DS to my parents' cottage on the river on Sunday and hung out, went for a boat ride, etc.
Another quick update, I had a u/s checkup at MFM this morning, and we were able to see baby boy parts!

Congrats on the boy!
Anecdotally, most people I know personally with 2 kids have same-sex siblings. I know it is a 50-50 chance but I find it interesting.
crunchymama11 I know I know. Too many things are facebook only, like Declan's swim school and day care. It seems like they only do updates through there, so I was missing a lot of stuff.

lia1303, I'm about an hour west of Lancaster and an hour south of Hbg/Hershey. Seems like it shouldn't be too far of a drive; it would take right around 2 hours for us to get to the mall, and I always drive about 2 hours to see my parents.
The 22nd works well for me! Who were you thinking lia1303? Michelle, Katie, and the other Lisa? Casey will have a newborn, but I could ask her too. Caroline lives in MD. Did you want me to ask her too? Did you want anyone else from the Longwood get together? Also Anne just moved to your area (wheninrome on the bump) I will invite as many or as little people as you like
PA Mom, that's perfect lets do Michelle, Katie, Lisa, Caroline, Anne, Casey if she's feeling up to it. Feel free to invite anyone else I'm missing. We have plenty of room down by the pool. Feel free to bring the men as well. My H will be there. I sent you a facebook invite with the address that way it's easy for you to forward to whomever
It has been a while since I have been on but have been thinking of you all. Just creepin and reading on updates! Congrats to all the pregnant mamas if I have not told you yet. And for those ttc, best of luck!!
We are doing good here. Just keeping busy enjoying the nice weather. I hope all is well with everyone and will try to check inmore often!

DD2's surgery went great! It was way less traumatic than when DD1 was hospitalized at 5 months- still scarred from that. They did a nose spray sedative before they took her to the OR, so she was out of it and didn't cry when she had to leave us, although I cried. And they put her under before putting in iv and tube, so she was not in pain for the iv.
But she cried in recovery- oh boy! We were sitting in the consultation room and we could hear this baby screaming bloody murder, going "owee, owee" over and over. I was feeling sad for the baby and my dad said "well, that's another mama's problem right now". As we headed back to her recovery room we realized it was DD2 screaming We didn't recognize her cries because she was hoarse from the tube. 3 nurses were trying to comfort her and she was not having it. I nursed her and she immediately calmed down, and her O2 came up (it was a little low from her screaming).
But she's fine now. She missed big sister and when we picked up DD1 she immediately tried to kick her in the face :/ And 3 hours after surgery she was *running* and climbing on the couch! The dr said she will self-regulate her activity but I wish she would slow down for at least 1 day! I don't want her to hurt herself. But she doesn't seem to be in too much pain, which is a good thing!
So glad the surgery went well and she is getting back to her feisty self. Sorry she was so upset, that must have been heartbreaking once you realized it was her.
