We got home from grocery shopping last night and I realized I didn't buy one single donut. I'm so mad at myself. I just want crappy chocolate or powdered sugar donuts.

That's it, I'm going to get donuts. I have a voucher for a free dozen Krispy Kreme that I still haven't used!
We're right behind you rocksforludo! Starting DS in his big boy bed next weekend and happy to hear your DD rocked her first night and hope you can steal some time for a comfy nap today yourself.
I'm really hoping she'll nap well in the bed so I can too. Good luck with DS next weekend! I've fought enough sleep battles to know one night doesn't guarantee anything but I'll happily take it!
Good luck with the transition! We are still working on it here, and I hope we have some success soon, since baby time is 3 months away, eek!
My DD is just waking up and it's 8:30. It's a miracle! She's been up at 6:30 for the past week or so, and fighting all her naps so this is just the best start to the weekend for me!
Snowy in NJ! DH is just psyched to bust out the new snowblower but I am hoping to convince him to paint the nursery since I oh-so- conveniently picked up the paint we chose yesterday. Go me!
@texasmama15 - enjoy! This is the perfect kind of winter weather in the city. It's pretty, but not ridiculously cold.
smontz I like the color above the third one. I always think it is better to go lighter/more neutral than you want because when fully painted, an intense color is overwhelming. Very pretty options!
DH and FIL are busy painting the nursery and former man cave we are turning into a playroom. We finally settled on a color 4 samples later and I think the nursery is looking nice! Now just to pick which shade of teal isn't too obnoxious for the playroom...
I like the first one. I have heard and have experienced that Blues are the hardest shade to predict. A lot of times they end up darker than what the swatch appears to be. So that's why I would go with the lighter shade. I do love a good teal wall though, very pretty!
smile55kjerseyakl Thanks ladies! I think that's the color we are going with. It's called Botanical Garden. I definitely want it to be bright and fun, so hopefully it will turn out bright yet not obnoxious!

DH is off today and I don't work till 5:30pm. We have a decent amount of stuff we should get done today, but I feel like the day will just slip right on by and nothing will get done. Happens all the time. Ugh.

I always struggle with being drawn to the bright bold colors. But then I have to remind myself that it can easily get overwhelming. Maybe do 3 walls in the third from the left color and do one wall in the pretty bright color for a pop of fun.
Enjoy. I'll just sit here and drool like some sort of begging dog.
Well...now I might need to get a donut
Ooh... I wonder if I can convince DH to go out and get some donuts! Today is my second day off sick from work and ordered bed rest for my back... So bored and donuts make every better right?
lauranicole91 That's actually what I wanted to do! I want to paint trees and critters on one of the walls and I thought the brightest color would look good as an accent wall. I love the idea, but it might still take some convincing for DH. He doesn't really understand what I mean. Here is my inspiration picture for the room. Hopefully it will all come together!

Yesssss! I was going to suggest some nice wall decals for the bright colored wall to break it up. Love the white trees!

I really like the gray color (the one that has a color swatch on top of it). I tend to go more neutral for wall colors though and add pops of color throughout the room. I change my mind so much that it's easier to add/remove accents rather than painting over and over again.

Have my brother and sister in law in town so I'm about to cook up some bad ass breakfast tacos & mimosas. (Mine made with Fre ) Then mani/pedi with sis-n-law. Yesssss. Livin' for the weekend.
No, for the all day Saturday class (tour and continental breakfast and lunch included) it's $150! Thankfully, you can pay by cash or check when you show up for class. If I paid ahead of time, I would have forced myself to go.
@texasmama15 I'm super jealous of your view! It snowed some here last night but it's supposed to get up to 47 today so I'm sure it'll all be mush. amylee545 boyfriend and I are supposed to go bowling tonight with his coworkers. I'm prepared to be off balance and hear some "I'm hiding a bowling ball in my shirt" jokes Thanks all you ladies who are suggesting donuts! I will be begging boyfriend to get some donuts when he wakes up now I have a few randoms.. 1-I'm really looking forward to going out with boyfriend and his coworkers tonight. They'll be drinking and going to some Mongolian restaurant to do karaoke, then bowling. I'm glad to get out with other people! 2- I've woken up frustrated today. The dreams of fighting with my dad have started again and I'm really tired of them. I wish I could resolve our issues but I know he's going to be a two year old about it and I'm not ready to deal with that. 3- I had a rough night last night emotionally. Boyfriend left to go to his cousin's house for a little while, right as we were going to bed. I wanted to go but I could tell he wanted his family time. So after he left my hormones raged and I cried an ugly self-hate cry. I'm 19, unmarried, unemployed, college drop out who's now pregnant. I just feel so worthless sometimes, and the drama with my dad (calling me an embarrassment) and other issues did not help at all. I didn't even tell boyfriend about it because I don't want him to think I'm a failure. I eventually fell asleep alone and crying and I'm really hoping today is better.
I struggled with a lot of those feelings when I was pregnant with my son. I was 25, never finished college, wasn't married, both DH and I came from VERY religious families so they weren't pleased at all that we were having a baby.
But guess what? None of that really matters. You don't magically become a better parent by getting married. If you want to finish college, do it! If you don't, then don't! If your parents are mad about it, give them space. Most likely they'll come around when baby is born, if not, it's their loss, and their fault. Plenty of people have babies before they are married, and it certainly shouldn't be the big old shame festival that it was back in the day.
Keep your chin up, you are not a failure, there will be plenty of time to finish school and get married, but for now just focus on providing this baby with a safe and loving environment and everything will be grand!
P.S. Don't be afraid to give your SO the chance to support you through this. Being open with your processes is very important to a healthy relationship. Chances are he has his insecurities too, and having each other to lean on is key.
amelandre thank you so much. I really appreciate the kind words and advice! I know I'll do the best I can for my son. I know I shouldn't let negative people get to me but sometimes it's just overwhelming. I really love this community! And thank you too thirdtimemomma ! *heart smileys*
Last night I FINALLY met some fun girls on the base where we live! Props to one brave one who opened her house to a bunch of randos for craft night.
Fun! What did you make?
I love to crochet and I have already made a blanket for LO so I did some headbands! I want to make another blanket but not sure when enough is enough? Haha. Some other girls there painted wine glasses and one girl made this cool sign that says "home is where the coast guard sends us" and below it you hang little signs with the names of all your duty stations. I want to make one of those at some point (with Navy instead).

I got my brother that sign from Etsy a few years ago and he really loved it!

I think they are so cute! But expensive. So it was cool to see someone make one that actually turned out.
jenari It's a long, skinny room (used to be a garage that is now part of the house), so the brightest color was vetoed. Everyone said you would have to wear sunglasses all of the time...I'm still obsessed with it though! I think we are leaning toward the one on the far left and above the second to last (I did that to compare the sea foam green and teal).
orangepickle Thanks! I'll definitely share once it's finished
You could always do one wall with the bright color and the others a neutral color or more toned-down shade of teal? I plan on doing one wall in baby's nursery in teal
