Good morning! We're hoping to have better temporary roof covering the beginning of next week as our guy badgers the roofers to put us higher on the list.
In other news, if the gales hold off today I'll be getting some maternity photos done, otherwise it'll be sometime during the week. And DH and I are headed to a Burns'Night Supper tonight since Surprise is behaving and staying put.
Also, I volunteered as replacement manager for the NACRA tour in June to North Carolina, but only if we've sorted out the kid's documents in time.
I wish I had cinnamon rolls or blueberry panacakes
DH is working today and I've cleaned the kitchen so far this morning. Probably do some laundry later. I have a whole bunch of laminated games I need to cut out for my sub but I also need to go buy ziploc baggies for them all! But first I plan on going to the craft store to get some things for the nursery. There is nothing on the walls and it looks a little bland!
I woke up to light pink spotting and a light gushing fluids at random. (Sorry tmi). No contractions though. I talked to the OB on call and she told me it is all normal, so trying not to panic. I am not ready! I am now trying to pack my hospital bag and do all the last minute things just in case it starts getting really real! My husband was so damn happy it got up singing were blending and dancing around. Lol (Has anyone seen the movie Blended?).
I need to be productive today. I only have a few small projects (print birth plan, pack bag, write rec letter) but keep procrastinating. Need to kick my own butt.

I had the same thing last weekend. Talk about lighting a fire under my butt! It is kinda motivation to get things done. I hope everything goes well for you this weekend
dbjackson25 it's a little selfish, but with all the announcements I can't finally get my post count up I am happy for them though.
Lazy day here. DH is snowmobiling up north, so it's me and the pups. I do have grading to do.
Little vent: I love my mom, and initially I asked her to be in the delivery room too (with DH too) but I think I just want her there during labor just in case DH needs a break or I do from him. I told her last night and she said "no, I'm gonna be when he's delivered." I was really shocked. I know my sister was shocked too, so at least I have some support when I try to tell her again. DH is very adamant that it is just is when he's delivered and now I agree. He already doesn't "care" for my mom a little, so I'm nervous to tell him.
I feel your pain, my mom asked me to be in the room when DS is born and I pretty much told her no. She cried and then I got a text from my stepdad telling me how I should "make it happen!' I wanted to jump through the phone and strangle him. I gently tried to tell her how this is a special time for DH and I and since i had a c-sec the first time, Id like to have this moment with him. I think she's still hurt.
My Sat. will be swimming with DD and getting to the movies (American Sniper) at 5:30. yay, one last movie before baby arrives.
:-( one of the kids just started crying because he messed up his answer sheet. Poor kids, so much pressure on a test when they're only in 5th grade. His mom was also one of the super hovering parents.
I really hate standardized testing and the pressure it puts on kids. My daughter stressed all the way through third grade last year because it was the first year of state testing for her. I finally had to say to her that I didn't care if she failed it and that the test is more to judge the teachers than the students. That calmed her down so much. She rocked the test like I knew she would, but the stress leading up to it was horrible. As a teacher, I absolutely hate watching kids stress over it. It is part of what makes kids hate education in general. Sorry for the rant!

I'm looking at probably 5-6" of snow outside! And I didn't put on clothes (by clothes I mean showered and put my yoga pants back on) until 11:30! I haven't done that in months! I did a little "baby pile" organizing. It's starting to get to me that we don't have a nursery--I want to buy cute shit on Etsy, but moreso I wish I had somewhere to *put* things, instead of just bags and piles in the basement. Pretty soon we'll get the pack n play and changing station set up in the office nook and install the car seat so that should help but....blah. I just keep moving shit around and it's pointless. I'm right in the midst of "hurry up and wait."
DH just woke me up with cinnamon rolls and starbucks. Great start to the weekend!
I'm incredibly jealous!
My DH was the reason I slept like shit last night. He kept tossing and turning AND bumping into my bump. Not a great move. I gave up on sleep and got out of bed at 6am. While I made breakfast, he decided to come downstairs to and wanted me to fix him a plate also. Oh and then left the dishes for me to do. Now it's 10.30, he's back to bed cos he's tired. I'm a bit miffed with him today. He'd better take me where ever the heck I want this afternoon.
How long is an appropriate time to wait between first breakfast and second breakfast? I say second breakfast because I know I'm probably going to eat again between 2-3 and that for me will be lunch. Oh and it's only 11:30 here.

Seeing all these beautiful babies is making me a bit impatient! I want her to stay in as long as possible but do the days have to drag by?
I must be productive and clean today. I made a list of things that need to get done around here. I've been able to mark some things off but not enough for my liking. My in-laws did get us an awesome vacuum cleaner for Christmas so I'm always happy to use that.
Whats with these toddlers waking up early? Ugh. Then she only napped for 45 mins but I can't be sure bc I fell asleep and when I woke up she was already awake.
All this talk of cinnamon buns makes me want to....barf! I hate cinnamon.

Hi ladies! Started my day off productive. Got a rabies shot for one of the dogs, cleaned the house a bit and ran a few errands. Then cue BH contractions for 2 hours of nonstop fun. Took a nap at my parents house and now feel fine. Woke up to an email from my OB that I am GBS positive though. Ugh! I have a really hard time with IV's so I'm not looking forward to the antibiotics right away.

I can't even begin to explain the drama surrounding my c/s birth. So this time EVERYONE thinks they are invited to the push party and it's just not going to happen. I'm really hoping I can get away with not having to call anyone.
So much for a lazy morning H decided we needed to get shopping done early. I think I need a nap after going clothes shopping with him. Oyi.
My H decided to drag me out shopping today, too. I'm in desperate need of a nap now lol
I've done next to nothing today and still was in desperate need of a nap
I did order the last stuff I really want to have before baby comes home(Diaper genie, waterproof pack n play cover) though, so I guess I can count that as productive, even if I was sitting on my butt doing it
Had a bit of a freekout, which hopefully is ok now.. our washer started leaking water all over the kitchen. DH took the cover off and can't find anything wrong, so I'm really really hoping I just overfilled it. I need to wash baby clothes and stuff today!

If you're a hobbit, not that long! Just make sure to eat it before elevensies.

So I haven't accomplished shit today. I took a 2.5 hour nap, went out to eat instead of going to the grocery store and then came home and snuggled with DH in bed while watching TV. House is still a disgraceful mess. I guess we needed a lazy day after starting second semester last week. New classes with new students is tiring.
I did manage to order a crib. We had a hand-me-down but we were skeptical about it because it is old. I used gift cards we have received for BRU and ordered one online. I ended up spending $84 out of pocket. Not bad.
Now I'm trying to find motivation to get showered so we can go hang out with friends. I think I'm going to try and shave the unmentionables. Pray I don't cut myself because seeing what I'm doing is impossible. I feel if I tame Chewbacca maybe I'll feel sexy and actually feel like having sex.
Sorry, ladies! Filter is off so you are getting all kids of TMI from me lately.
Thank you note question: One of DH's coworkers gave us a really big bag of diapers(Size 1, perfect!), which is awesome. They were left over from their baby...they get a thank you note, right, even though they didn't buy them for us or anything? Trying to get all my things i can do while sitting around stuff done today.

So happy the predicted wintry mix didn't happen today. We got about 6in of good snow - the good snowball making kind got up early to make a good breakfast then DH, the boys, pup, and I went to the park a few blocks away to let the dog run loose in the snow and toss around the frisbee. Was fun for them, but I just had to sit back and watch stupid pre-e.
FIL made a surprise visit because he was bored at home haha not like we are exciting. Was nice because he helped DH finally put together the crib. The nursery is finally complete! Told peanut that we are ready for him whenever he feels like showing up got a little emotional looking around the room and finally seeing it all together.
Also thought my water was leaking last night, but turned out just to be a bit of pee going down my leg as I waddled as fast as I could to the bathroom. It was both embarrassing and a relief. So glad everyone was asleep at the time.
