I made a bazillion mini fruit pizzas, pinwheels, sangria, and some lemonade. It will be a success if I can successfully pull off my best friends bridal shower today.

Not yet today, but Thursday I took LO to the beach. I had carried him down to the waves before, but this time we rented an umbrella and spent some hours there...sand in the diaper, and all. He did so well. Melted a little when it was food time and didn't nap, but otherwise was just amazing.
H put together an outdoor swing for us and baby and I hung outside most of the afternoon in her makeshift babypool (an upside down pizza float from 5 below), LO and I went to BRU for a shower gift, ate some din outside with mom and baby at a new pizza joint, ran a couple more errands and babygirl is now snoozin. Was gonna make a funfetti sugar cookie pizza for a pool day at the ILs tomorrow but I forgot to buy white chocolate chips : ( and H is working until 12am so I can't send him out. Hmmmm...maybe I'll still make it...

Met up with a mom from my mother's group and walked for almost 2hrs in our local park. Then bought the rest of the supplies needed to make pickled green beans. A friend came over for dinner with her almost 3yo twins and they only mildly destroyed the toy area of my house. And I have six jars of pickled green beans to show for my evening.
My husband took LO to his parent's house this afternoon. I stayed at home to rest because I'm still a little sick. But, I ended up cleaning the bathrooms and floors. I also did a couple of loads of laundry, showered, and caught up on some tv shows on the dvr.
calvinfoster, fro yo places like that are common where I am. Glad you got some special time with the older kids. Would you recommend Inside Out for a 4.5yo?
We went to Top Golf this morning, ran errands, looked at dogs, then had a late lunch with my family. I'm completely hating myself because LO didn't get a good nap at all and is a complete hot mess.
Ugh, I struggle with this every weekend. I want to do all the things with LO, but she no longer naps well on the go and she REALLY needs her naps.
We've been doing things either between naps or in the evening before 7 when we need to occupy her anyway. She's been doing a 2-3-4 schedule for a couple weeks and its so much more enjoyable to be able to go out for longer and not have to worry about being home so early. Although there are plenty of times where she's almost fallen asleep in the carseat close to home and we try to keep her up to get her home and in the crib bc she sleeps so much better there.
@ahisma DS is a really short napper too. We had tried so many different things and he always naps 30-40 minutes. I would love to get on the 2-2-4 routine but I don't think that is going to happen without me staying at home.
We accomplished a ton of stuff yesterday. We managed to run errands before lunch and installed a baby gate. As a bonus I managed to paint our outdoor utility boxes to match the siding.
@kelsz12, Ah, yeah that's too bad. Poor little guy is probably pretty tired by the time the weekend rolls around. My LO doesn't nap that well at home, I can only imagine how bad it'd be if she was in DC. Hopefully he figures out how to nap at DC as he gets older.
nbateman5, I am looking forward to the day LO can follow a 2-3-4 schedule. She takes really short naps (which we're trying to work on) and so needs 3 naps. Her schedule is more like 1.5-2.5-2.5-2, or something equally annoying. Doesn't leave any big chunks of time to go do things.
Your LO'S schedule sounds similar to mine's. He's roughly 2-2-2-2. I can sometimes stretch one or two of those to 2.5, but that's about it. He's been doing a lot of half hour naps lately. I really hope he can consolidate soon.

Having a difficult time finding the daily successes these days. Life is moving so fast that I'm simply in survival mode. However, DH and I went for a 42 mile bike ride today. Sounds successful but now I'm behind on housework. The cycle never ends...
Went to polish festival friday night. LO was pretty good. He fussed a bit deep in the crowds but we backed off and it was better. I left a bottle at home so I had to dig up my emergency stash. LO did not like the ready made bottle and the emergency nipple. He wouldn't take it at first. Several tries later he finished it. He fell asleep just before leaving way past his bed time. Time to pack a spare bottle and formula. He did have one wake up but I expected worse.
path75 don't forget water too in the diaper bag. I've had several occasions where I've been in a situation that had well water or none at all and needed h2o
