There's actually a term for this in Japanese. It means separate stomach, for all the desserts.
This is yet another reason why I should move to Japan. My best friend just got back from there and the things she said about public restrooms made me want to fly over there just to go pee in them haha.
I lived there and visit often. I can fulfill all your Japan needs.
DOH! My bad. Trigger warning indeed. I had a very rough night with DS. I've pretty much been awake since 12:30am. How he has so much energy this morning is beyond me. I feel like a zombie.

That is awesome. Is it wrong that I giggled a little when I read your last sentence? But seriously, what's the secret to making sushi? I have about 30 some odd weeks left to practice.
Desserts are pretty divisive on my other BMB, so here's another UO: I hate donuts and pie. I hate most dessert pastries, in fact. Cake is okay sometimes.
I'll show myself to the door.
Seriously though I dislike donuts as well. I love beignets, but could live my whole life without ever having another donut.
I don't think 2nd time registries/showers are a huge deal, tacky or cringe worthy.
I won't be doing one but I wouldn't side eye someone who did.
I'll totally be doing one if we have a girl, but in my circle of friends it's generally welcome to continue doing baby showers for all pregnancies (most of my friends have ~4 kids).
ETA: And obviously registering everywhere for the swag. Target wasn't too bad, but I wish we had a BBB closer than 4 hours away

The secret is super fresh fish. From ocean to plate
Expanding on the dessert UO. I think red velvet is seriously overrated. What flavor is it anyways?
My UO: I love making red velvet cupcakes/cookies out of pureed beets (instead of using food coloring) and not telling anyone. I've only had one person notice a difference and everyone else devours them.
UO #2: I love beets so much I will make chips and eat the entire pan. And then pee red for a week, but whatevs.

Regarding desserts - I don't like anything chocolate flavored except chocolate. I don't like chocolate cake, don't like chocolate ice cream. I can tolerate chocolate frosting if it's buttercream, homemade and on a vanilla cake and there's not too much of it. I like some chocolate cookies, but it's kinda hit and miss for me there. I do love me some homemade chocolate brownies though. They have to be fudgey though, not cakey. I have an awesome recipe that DH loves, and it's super easy... mmmm now I want to make some brownies, and then make an ice cream sundae while they are still warm... and then go into a sugar coma. So much for trying to move towards a 'Diabetes diet' like my doc suggested. lol
I always thought Red Velvet had cherry flavored until we started choosing our wedding cake and one of the bakeries told us it was just chocolate cake with red food coloring. We went with a vanilla bean cake with buttercream icing from a local Italian bakery. It was divine!
Passionate red velvet fan here. (It was our wedding cake, too.)
Red velvet isn't technically like chocolate cake, either. It actually has just a teaspoon to a tablespoon of cocoa per cake (a chocolate cake can have half to a whole cup, for comparison).
The unique flavor comes from that hint of cocoa, yes, but also the buttermilk and a bit of apple cider vinegar, which make it a bit sour.
I like cream cheese frosting, but I prefer a classic buttercream with red velvet.

Ok. Cake slut out.
+1 for loving red velvet, and also for it not being chocolate. Although I prefer the cream cheese frosting with it.

Yes and YASSSSSSS to all the bolded!! Red velvet is my favorite!
One layer of our wedding cake was red velvet too. Our grooms cake was a 3D calf; I really wanted it to be red velvet. (think a la Steel Magnolias & the armadillo) But my Mom thought that was tacky. She's kind of a fun-hater sometimes.
Ps multiple people commented at the wedding that it would have been hilarious if it'd been red velvet.

I think that when a woman decides to keep her last name after marriage, it is rude to call her by her married name. Making the mistake is fine, but once you've been corrected? Rude.
I kept my name, and a lot of our friends do this like it's NBD. One girl even arbitrarily changed my last name on her wedding programs. Pisses me the hell off.
I mean, how much harder is it really to address something to Mr. Y and Ms. X?

Me too!
Are you hyphenating your LOs names?
We did not. My last name is one of the middle names. Originally, any girls would have my last name, until I refused to doom another generation with a rhyming first-last name.

Haha, we considered giving one kid my last name and one his last name, but everyone thought it was crazy, so we are cursing them with hyphenation instead. =) Also, what if we have 3 kids? etc.
