Chatted with biblio this afternoon. She and the tiny hobbit are both doing well. He's finally getting the hang of nursing and making up for some lost time, so she'll be on with his birth story whenever he decides to take a break from the boob buffet.

Okay, I don't have terribly long. I'm about to go have a nap after a feeding. First successful nursing session!
So Sunday I was having irregular contractions and ignoring them. Until they got a lot less irregular and a lot more painful. Around 7 pm, I was having them every five minutes, 1-2 minutes in duration. At 8 pm, I got sick during transition. A few times. Cake is less tasty in reverse.
MH wanted to set up the tub, but I wouldn't let him until 8:30, when things got intense. As soon as it was set up, I got in. I texted my midwives around 10 and they said they'd come over. I got out of the tub around 10:30 to go to the bathroom and my water EXPLODED. I got back in the tub and the pushing started (I had no choice; pushing had to happen).
My midwives got there at 11. I was naked in the tub (shame is not a part of my vocab) and MH was holding my hand and rubbing my back. The midwives were very unobtrusive. They monitored my progress with a doppler and mirror, but never made me move. They encouraged me to do whatever felt good and told me how well I was doing.
Things moved quickly and I felt like I was shitting a bowling ball. Feeling around, I felt his head. I got determined. A few more pushes and he was out and in the water. The midwives brought him to the surface and held him to my chest at 12:36 a.m.
In a few minutes, we moved to the sofa (covered with a shower curtain and sheets) where they checked me and George out. I needed a few stitches (during which i got to hold him... and be pooped on). The midwives had MH hold him during the exam.
My midwives helped us all upstairs to bed, cleaned up, and left. They've been back twice since then to help with nursing, which we're just now getting the hang of.
He's perfect and lovely and hardly cries. It's magic. I want to include a picture, but I'm mobile and I have half of a brain right now.
I loved my home birth experience. It was everything I wanted. I can't imagine how it could have gone better. I felt connected and in charge and powerful.
Thank you all for the well wishes! I promise I'll be on later.

Posting with permission from Biblio, because she's a little preoccupied and I have a moment on my hands.
Meet baby Bibs:
I completely forgot his stats! 7 pounds, 8 ounces (and that was after he shat allll over me). 21 inches. I know he looks long. He likes using his limbs to their fullest extent.
