I probably would have stayed working if I had a year maternity leave. I think it's awesome. I wonder if it will last and/or if other companies will follow suit?
Im glad for everyone who was able to take a year of maternity leave. I personally would not want to take a full year, but wish I could have worked part time for a few months after I came back. Since I work at a hospital, taking a year would really put a strain on everyone here, that and 3 in my department would have been gone for 9 of those months (yikes). Our policy here is they will hold your position for 3 months (unless there is a medical reason to be out longer) but you have to use up your sick/vacation leave and the rest is unpaid for so long before the sick leave pool is an option.

I would stay too. If companies treat employees well, they usually stay, which of course is good for the company.
I think it's AMAZING that Netflix is basically offering a TON of flexibility! What I would have LOVED to do is come back 20hrs/week at 4 mo and then slowly increase. It sounds like Netflix is doing that!

I told my husband that he needs to go find a job with Netflix. This is such an amazing thing and hopefully more companies will start following their lead.
