Trying to keep in simple..but I don't think I can do that bc I love parties. So primo hoagies, roast beef or meatball sandwiches, salad, chips and dips. And a pretzel tray.

Pretzel tray? Tell me more. Pretzels are my second favorite food group (after cheese.)

kellrr me too. When pregnant I ate pretzels regularly for breakfast. Haha. Luckily being in the Philly area it's a staple here. There is a chain called Philadelphia Pretzel Factory that sells party trays of pretzels that come with different dipping items..one of which can be cheese. So you would be set. Haha. And MrsTinMKE you can get big pretzels, pretzels nuggets, pretzel rods..etc (insert Bubba from Forrest Gumps voice).

We are doing circus/carnival foods: corn dogs, popcorn, and peanuts (nutter butter cookies). The end. I might go cray and include fruit or veg to make it slightly wholesome.
Omg! I must have these!!! F is hopefully wearing my yellow first birthday dress- these shoes totally go with a yellow dress right?? Ordering them as soon as I get to work. I should probably try the dress on her to make sure it will even fit next month ...

I need opinions on the wording for invites. I am DIYing and using adorable orange foxes from work. Should it say: A. Finnleigh the fox is here to say Please come celebrate my 1st birthday B. This adorable fox is here to say Please come celebrate Finnleigh's first birthday! C. A variation of this that one of you super creative lads comes up with :-)
I picked backgrounds for his photo and we decided on a time for the party lol. I have no idea what theme to put on his evite so am thinking of going sesame since it's the one thing (other than beach balls) that he has shown interest in
Oh and our new neighbor does cakes so I will order from her.
With moving this poor baby is getting a half @ss birthday party planning effort! He will never know

Sounds like our party! I went all out for DD1 but theres just too much going on and too much $$ going out to have a big party.
Have you or anyone else ever used evite.com? Im thinking about doing that but Ive never used them.

I've used evite several times. Works great! Especially for RSVPs and potluck type stuff.

I used punch bowl for our older son's second birthday. They have a lot of cute designs and it worked well.
I just saw some beautiful Paper flowers im going to make for decor and then try to reuse them in her new room at our new house. There is a really good youtube tutorial too. It looks easy so thought id drop this here!
We are doing a vintage circus party for DS. For food, I'm going to have a popcorn bar with a popcorn machine. Different flavored seasonings and toppings- chocolate syrup, m&ms, peanuts, etc. Hot dogs and nachos and drinks. Cupcakes.
I'm having a romper made out of an old t shirt that has a beer riding a unicycle, and I'm making my H get a circus themed shirt, and I found one with an elephant print. I have all kinds of decorations planned.

That sounds fun! Where does one get a popcorn machine? We're doing an elephant theme and that sounds fun!

A beer riding a motorcycle or a bear? Cause a beer would be awesome
I am torn about which day to have the party: Saturday or Sunday. My family is crazy into college football and I could legitimately see my dad and brothers not coming because they would miss watching the games. On the other hand, DS his actual birthday is Saturday, Sunday would be the day after. Also, I feel like it would be nice to not have to clean up a party all night Sunday and then have to go to work Monday. Also, is anyone else trying to plan around nap time?
kellrr were doing a Sat for the reason of clean up. And picked 1 pm bc it's around nap time and hopefully will wrap up before 6 to allow for normal bedtime. Also FFSC: Sat is also BIL first anniversary and I don't care that DD party will be the same day since he didn't care about her EDD when he picked his wedding date.

kellrr, we preferred Saturday as well but checked with DH's family and Sunday worked better for them so we decided to have the party on Sunday. Could you have the game on in the living room so that your dad and brothers could watch it at your place? And DH likes to plan his weekend activities around the Cowboys games but he would never miss a family event because of the game. Would your dad and brothers really miss DS's birthday because of football?
