I never posted this for fear of ostracization, but the birth plan comments gave me courage. I don't understand birth plans or the obsession on the birth period - I planned nothing outside of educating myself on the process and options if I decided I would want to utilize them. With my first I thought once I was going through it I would change my mind, but I didn't. I don't look back on the experience and think it was amazing or that I was robbed or even what I would do different - its a story and a memory but thats it. (This sounds pretentious but I swear I do not mean it that way) Everyday since giving birth has been more important and memorable, the only time so far I have felt robbed was when I missed her first smile.
And the Harry Potter books are sacred, I cannot even comprehend that comment.
UO: I think writing up a birth plan is absolutely ridiculous. When you're in the moment, you likely wont give a shit about how many nurses are in your room or if there is soft calming music playing in the background and all your friends are singing inspirational show tunes while holding hands around your bed.
When I was about 9-10 weeks along, my friend asked me if I was writing a birth plan and when I said no, she said I really should. So here is my birth plan:
Have a baby.
And done. That was easy.
Haha! I didn't really know that birth plans were a thing. I thought it was pretty much, like you said: Go to place to have baby. Have baby. But during my first OB appointment my doctor asked if I had a specific birth plan. I was really caught off guard by the question, so I just said, "Get the baby out of me safely and alive?" She started laughing and said, "You're going to be a good patient."

The same friend asked if she could observe my birth because she wants to be a birthing assistant and said that if I let her in the room, she could take me on a tour of my placenta. Not even joking. Usually I handle stuff like that better, but all I could say was, "That sounds disgusting."

I can't stand the pregnant lady on my FB that constantly asks questions about her pregnancy (is this normal, should I be concerned about...) and her kids health (fever is 102, should we go to dr?) The list goes on and on and on........ and she is a nurse ?
At least you know a website you can send her where she will be free and encouraged to ask those questions!! Always look on the bright side of life! *whistle* (please someone recognize that)
Most olives are amazing, but canned black olives are the worst. Miracle whip is so sweet it tastes like dessert. Do not want.
My UO: I think the bottled water industry is ridiculous. It is terrible for the environment. I judge the shit out of people that buy bottled water on a regular basis.
I agree! Why all the waste?? We recently got a "soma" water filter and I love it. Tasty tasty water!

I don't like Disney movies...or Disney in general. I don't necessarily have anything against it, but I've never wanted to go back to WDW, and I don't really "get" grown adults (especially those without kids...I can sort of get parents) who are obsessed. Which also, leads to my dreading of Disney/cartoons in general being the only thing I ever watch on tv once we enter the toddler years!
