Our first sick day she's been fighting a cold for a couple weeks but it seemed to be getting better. She slept terrible last night because the congestion came back and was 100.1 this am. Headed to the doc this morning. After a 3 hour nap on mh chest, she's on her play mat trying to whack the cat with her stacking rings.
cgab36 love tit for the cat part, not the sick baby part. Hopefully she makes a speedy recovery!
DH and I are both coming down with a cold. C has had a runny nose for a few days but nothing else. I think we finally caught whatever he has. I'm hoping he doesn't get worse. It was so hard to leave him this morning. My in-laws were here and I always feel like I get less baby time when we have guests. It makes Mondays so much harder

Our babysitter who came once a week let us know on Friday that she is will not be available during the week anymore. She was out on worker's comp from her regular job and her case just closed and she is being required to go back full time this week. We have been meaning to put E in daycare part time anyway, but we were trying to wait for my H to get his new work schedule first (not sure when that is going to happen). Now I don't know what we are going to do for childcare

I'm home with a sick LO today too! Took her to the doctor this morning to rule out an ear infection. Doctor said it was just a virus, but to keep watching her temp (it was at 101.8 right after waking up this morning) and watch her breathing. DH has the day off tomorrow and will be staying home with LO. I am way more nervous about this than I probably should be. I think I would feel better if she were healthy. I am so thankful to have the day off of work today, but I'm worried about all I have to do. I feel like I'm falling behind because I've taken off some time this month. I wish I could relax about this, because it makes me mad that I'm actually worried about work.

I'm at work and it is awful! My school is doing all these assessments so my classroom has been full non-stop with kids taking tests. Kids are in such bad moods because these tests are hard and they are all taking it out on me, Lucy did not sleep well this weekend so I'm exhausted and just want to be home in bed.
We went to the doc as well, no ear infection and lungs sound fine. Her fever was a little higher there but we think it was because she was warm from being bundled. She warm blooded like me, aka a sweat box.
Luckily we've both gotten a couple good naps today so hopefully we are both on the mend.
I just wish this could have happened last week when I was off Monday instead of having to burn a CTO day

cgab36 - So glad you got naps... LO decided to go on strike today and I didn't get her to sleep until 4. Thankfully, she slept for an hour and a half, the downside was that it was with me holding her. Ya win some and ya lose some.
cgab36 and &brittnic531 - Hope LOs are feeling better today as are you! (Not sure I tagged correctly).
Still adjusting to bring away from LO. Yesterday was first full day. I was fine at school, when I got home it hit me how little time I have with G now. Still having some sitter issues. Read her the riot act yesterday. Told her if I see her pushing G again and he is crying in pain bc of his neck issues - she will be let go. We have an appt with chiropractor tomorrow. I hope she sees what I am seeing. It explains so much.
skfg It's so hard to adjust (not sure if you ever fully do). Being away from LO is difficult, be kind to yourself. Whenever I start missing him at work or get sad, I picture how he smiles at me and gets so excited when I pick him up at day care. It helps me get through the day. I hope today goes well!
Thanks skfg! She was a little better today but dh had already talked to his boss about working from home so I figured better to keep her out another day. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow!
Ugh @ Brittnic531 sorry you didn't get any naps I've had to sleep propped in the v corner of the couch the last two nights now because that's where she had slept best
skfg hope the chiro helps! I love mine and have been going since I was little

Thanks skfg! Unfortunately, LO had an incredibly rough night last night. I am SOOOOO... tired. LO still had a fever this evening, so I have to take off tomorrow too. Or at least work when I can from home. I have to call the doctor again in the morning if she still has the fever since it'll be 3 days. It goes away when she's on ibuprofen, but comes right back to 101+ degrees. Poor thing has been so miserable. DH stayed home with her today since he had the day off. She still hardly napped today cgab36... she's like the freaking energizer bunny but fussy. Also, today has been incredibly crappy. We had to borrow money from my in-laws to make it to payday and we found out we have to get a new car. We were going to pay off a lot of our debt with our tax return and now we have to get a new (well, new to us) car. I need some wine.
I'm pretty sure the area where our pumping room is has the ac on and it's like 60 degrees. Mission is to find the thermostat. Effing eh not sure how I'll get a letdown in this!

Why in the world would they have your AC on? Did they miss the memo that it's winter?! Hope you can find the thermostat!

Help me out people! What purees/foods/bottle schedule does your baby have?
Right now mine gets 2 6 oz bottles plus one puree feeding at daycare, nursing on demand throughout the evening (and let's face it usually overnight), and puree and finger foods for dinner.
Full time mamas- how much does your baby eat and what while they're at daycare or with a sitter? I'm considering sending some finger foods and wanted to get a reading on what everyone else is doing.
We're all over the place over here. My child doesn't sleep.
Right now our schedule is: nurse (715ish am), 3 4.5oz bottles at daycare plus one puree, nurse 6pmish, puree around 7, nurse 9pm then bed. Once over night sometimes
Sorry if that's too detailed lol.
I've been debating a 2nd puree at school and probably small finger stuff in the next month at home
three bottles at daycare (4.5 ounces each), one every 2.5-3 hours plus lunch of 1Tbls. oatmeal mixed with 2-3 ounces of a puree and a few puffs to practice with.
sometimes BFs around 5:30-6pm, sometimes not.
Dinner: not really doing yet as she dropped a bottle at daycare when we started solids (yay less stress about pumping at work!!!) and I'm concerned if we start a dinner, she will drop more BFings. We do give her a handful of puffs to occupy herself while we eat though. Likely we'll start occasional finger foods as dinner so she isn't really "filling up" like with purees.
BF around 7pm then bed. She STTN.
With DD1, I started sending some finger foods to daycare around 8-9 months. I'd just use a baby food container (so 4 ounce size) and fill with whatever we had around. I'd make things like chicken, ditalini pasta (short little tubes so not cutting up), ground meat, steamed veggies, etc. that could just be thrown in the container together so it was easy to grab for daycare. I also frequently cooked up chicken and then diced it and stuck it in a bag in the freezer so there was always something easy for her.
amackattack Our schedule is pretty consistent and similar to everyone's above, with the slight change of med needs that require him to wait to eat:
7am - wake up - first meds 7:30 - second meds and head to daycare 8:00 - breakfast at daycare - 3TBS of oatmeal, a fruit net usually having either watermelon, cantaloupe, or pear in it, 6oz of formula 12:00 - lunch at daycare - 1 level 2 puree, 1oz of prune juice, 4oz of formula 3:00 - snack at daycare - 6oz of formula 5:00 - dinner at home - 1 level 2 puree, 1/3 of a container of either prunes or baby yogurt, sippy cup of 3/4 water 1/4 juice (either pear or carrot), a cracker or puffs to work on feeding himself, 4oz of formula 6:30 - evening meds 7:00 - snack at home - 4oz of formula + 2 oz of prune juice 9:30 - bed time bottle - 4oz of forumla
Hi all... Just checking in and seeing how everyone is doing! I'm sorry for all the sick babies and hope everyone is feeling better.
This has been the weirdest week. Worked Monday, major blizzard kept me home Tuesday and Wednesday, and now I am back today. I changed my schedule so that I'm not working Fridays anymore (yay!) which was a nice stroke of luck. But this week has been so weird, I feel like it's Monday and Friday all at the same time.
LO is also sick and I'm wondering if we need to go to the Dr. or not...
Lest12 I'm having a weird week too but unfortunately it's because of extra hours, not less!! That's awesome that you aren't working Fridays anymore!! I would love that. DH and I have talked about me going down a day per pay period but we just can't work it out where we can agree on what the expectations are for that day 'off'.
mully626 - I'm lucky that work approved it, of course, but otherwise... DH works nights, and I work days. We are taking care of the baby solo when we are home. We were both getting really exhausted and there was zero time for housekeeping... So, it was this or a housekeeper. Which is what I told DH and he finally agreed. This is better... just less extra spending cash but I'll figure it out.
He takes around 15 oz at day care usually at 3 feedings. One lunch of 2-3oz of purée. He also gets puffs, Cheerios or crackers as a snack when the bigger kids eat.
5 - 6pm: 0-2 nursing sessions
6pm: dinner. Usually 2-3 oz of purée and some Cheerios or puffs
6:30pm: evening nurse before bed. He goes down pretty quickly after.

Back to work today, had DD1 sick mon & tues, then LO was congested & running fever yesterday (I think it's teething mixed with a small cold). Now I'll have to work Saturday to finish everything that needs to be finished by the end of the month and make up the time I've missed. Our house is a mess because LO has been so clingy that the second I'd put her down she'd cry like someone was beating her. I think we've only seen DH for about an hour since Saturday, he's had a lot going on with school and work, that means that he hasn't been able to help out at all at home. I'm stretched out way thin and I hate it, I feel like I can't devote enough time to anything that I do so I'm not really doing any of it right!
amackattack - LO has a later bedtime, too. Usually around 8:30... sometimes he goes a little earlier, but it can be around 9:00 pretty often. When I was home on maternity leave, I just kind of let things happen naturally and this is the rhythm he fell into, so I never messed with it.
Otherwise his schedule looks like this -
5am - Dream feed before going to work; I think he eats a good deal at this point 8am - wake ups with DH; drink 5 oz bottle They play and hang out for the morning 11:30 - lunchtime - 5-6 oz bottle, then 4-6 ounces of food 1 - naptime (usually lasts 2 hours) 4 - I am home, and we nurse 6 - I nurse a little more (maybe for 10 minutes) then he eats about 4 oz of food 8:30 - Nurse before bed but he is never really too hungry
Sometimes I am concerned that he only takes two bottles while I'm gone, but I do stuff him right before I leave and he has a long nap after his lunch so I guess it's just fine.
