Morning. Today DH is going to hopefully install a new air conditioner. It's hot as hell in our place right now, so I'm really hoping he doesn't have any problems getting it installed.
Tonight my mom is supposed to watch dd so we can go out for a bit. One of our friends is having an end of summer BBQ, so we'll probably stop there and I'm hoping we can stop and get drinks by ourself too.
Dd says mama, dada, baba, and moo. She also tries to woof and oink.
Hey ladies! Just wanted to ask for some prayers for my moms best friend's mother. She was just placed on hospice care so I hope she remains comfortable and is without pain. She's lived a great life being 80..but still hard. She was an extra grandmother to me..she always said I was her first grandchild.
On a lighter note today we're going to my moms annual crab party. I'm dreading it. My moms house is the complete opposite of baby friendly, her outside is all rocks and dirt, and eating crabs with a 9 month old will not be easy. Luckily there will be alcohol there haha.

Sounds like lots of the notches will have a great night tonight. Count me in too! We have a sitter and we are doing whatever DH feels like since his bday is next week. Points for DH who let me have a long nap this morning.

Oh. On the topic of words, ds is still not saying any words with intention. Lots of babbling including mama and dada but I don't think he knows what he's saying. He's on the younger end of the board babies so hopefully he'll start soon!

I'm sorry about your moms friends mom. I hope that the remainder of her time is spent comfortably and with loved ones. Will you be able to see her?
Howdy! meagpt22 T&Ps. That's always so hard. sweetsurprise boo for croup but have a fun date nite! MIL cancelled on lunch, so we are going to go to the Parade of Homes, get lunch with my mom, brother and SIL, do some shopping, and then go to my other brother's softball game. It should be way more fun than packing.

DD says mama, dada, and hi. So cute- she waves at people and says hi! She has just started ma-ommmm when she wants my attention. MIL is pressuring DH into me and him going out tonight while she watches DD. Um- DD cries when she's alone with you, you think the crying is funny, DD won't take a bottle from you, and won't eat solids around you. What part of all of this makes you think I would leave my child with you? She will pressure DH so much while I'm at work today that he will pressure me and it will turn into a huge fight. Ugh.

Ugh. Your MIL sounds like a real treat. That would be enough for me to make a long distance move. Hopefully your H stays strong and it doesn't turn into a fight for you two.

I know you have a rough relationship with MIL, but maybe give it a try. DS used to cry every time my brother watched him and my brother is amazing, just not as experienced with babies. Now that he's done it a couple times and he's been around DS a lot, it's fine. If it would make it less stressful for everyone, maybe just go somewhere close and commit to getting one drink, or go to Target together and lazily walk the aisles. That way if all hell breaks loose with MIL, you can easily pop home. It's hard to leave LO with someone you think they don't like, but sounds like MIL isn't going anywhere and you probably won't be able to fend her off forever.
I forgot to mention that DS says mama, dada and mmmmmm while eating. He doesn't take bottles often, so I'd be surprised if he knows the word bottle at all. He does clearly recognize other words, though, and responds to "come here," "no," and "take a sip." I think my head will explode when he says something like a real word.

I don't think most of ours have intention either. Except mmmmm that definitely means she wants to eat whatever she is seeing. Unfortunately mmmmm isn't a word.

Your MIL needs another TP. I suppose it's nice she wants to babysit though. Could she watch her after bedtime and you guys do a later date?

K knows "no" to except to her it means to pause what she was doing, look at me with an innocent smile, wait for me to turn away and continue whatever she was doing.

Mine, too. But my brother said it once when DS was playing with my shoes, and DS dropped the shoe and burst into tears.
