1. DD is 3 months chronological, 1 week adjusted. Born at 28 weeks. 2. Pumping schedule: I try to do it every 2-3 hours during the day and every 4 at night. Baby is on fortified breast milk via bottle, so it doesn't matter when I do it in terms of her schedule. I get around 500 mls per day, which is around 19 ounces. I track every pumping session and I'm working on transferring it into excel because I'm a dork. 3. I have an impressive freezer stash due to her tiny feeding amounts at the start of her 84 day nicu stay. She was doing 2mls every 4 hours...so yeah, I have a whole freezer full of milk. I'll be doing this as long as possible because she needs the antibodies and easy digestion. 4. I effing hate pumping. She eats every 3 hours during the day, and takes about an hour to feed her and give her a rest so she doesn't barf it back up (reflux). Then I pump for 30 minutes. Then I wash everything and I've got an hour until it starts again.
do you have a hands free pumping bra so you can feed her while you pump??? Def saves time. I know she prob needs to be, fed uoright bc of her reflux and you can still do it while pumping. Just find whats comfy

I do, but it gets in the way. I tried. Those pumping bras are amazing though.

Sorry I've been away for a little while! I started back at work and it's back to survival mode. Thanks abbalish for starting this community thread. I'm excited to meet other EPers. I just recently joined a Facebook page dedicated to EPers and have really enjoyed it! Anyway, here is my check in.
) How old is your LO? She is 3m,1w 2) What is your pumping schedule/output like each day? 6ppd, about 50-60 oz per day. I pump at 6:45, 10:30ish, 1:30ish, 4-5, 8ish, and 10ish. I recently cut out my MOTN pump and it didn't seem to affect my output much. I am pretty engorged when I wake up, but it's totally worth it! 3) What are your goals as far as pumping is concerned? I hope a year. I have such a stash,I may be able to stop around 9 or 10 months. We'll see. 4) Any issues or concerns? Work has been better than expected. My employer is very supportive of my choice to pump and it doesn't really interfere with my work. I have one of those bustiers so I just hook up and keep working at my computer. If I'm traveling from town to town, I pump in the car. I've become a pro at pumping while driving!! No other issues.
1) How old is your LO? 10 weeks 2) What is your pumping schedule/output like each day? I make an effort to pump every 4-5 hours around the clock. I keep pushing it to 5-6 hours lately. I try and make it so my last pump is at 10pm or whenever LO falls asleep, whichever is later. I pump for anywhere from 15-25 minutes at a time and I make about 30 oz a day. 3) What are your goals as far as pumping is concerned? Get to 6 months and then reassess. I have what I consider to be a substantial freezer stash so we will see where we go from there. I don't totally hate pumping so I foresee doing it for a year. 4) Any issues or concerns? Will be traveling from PA to AZ in October (LO will be 4 months). Trying to plan for the logistics of pumping while traveling has me super anxious. We made a trip to NY a few weeks ago and there's just so much that goes into it (how much milk to bring in case my supply dips, how to store it, where to pump, how much pumping supplies to bring, bottles, etc.).
Random question: for moms going back to work do you think it's silly to invest in another pump? I think keeping a pump at work would make life a million times easier but I'm not sure if that's just crazy talk and/or lazy. I work 12 hour shifts and spend every 4th weekend on call so I could get called in any time of day and be at work for an unknown amount of time.
Oh girl. For me it was a necessity! I am borrowing my sister's PISA and have a whole set of supplies for work. It was such a pain to make sure I had all my parts, enough bags, and everything else I needed to pump like my pumping bra. I bought another one of those to keep at work too. Best idea for any EPer if you're able to. If you don't want to buy one, see if you can borrow someone's.
