limabeanmom I have had two YI while nursing LO. Neither time resulted in thrush for either of us. I tried to make sure to eat extra yogurt and have LO do as well. Monistat is fine for BFing.
anustart1, how do you feel about limiting evening beverages? I hope it's just the cold messing him up (perhaps arm him with a hanky?), and he won't keep waking up a ton to go to the bathroom!

Thanks everyone for reading my vent! I definitely do not cave and I'm actually the one that submitted to his employer to have child support taken out again, so I'm sure he's pissed about that. I let him be around as little as possible. I don't communicate with him in between the days he's got her. He gets her one day a week while I work and then every other Sunday. From like 9-6, unless he's late or bails earlier. I wish he would just say he can't do child support, sign over his rights, and J can take over as her father figure. Which, she sees J more anyways, so I think she thinks that now and I'm okay with that.
It's almost comical that he thinks he owes me/M nothing. Like someone said, he wants the easy/fun part of being a dad (I basically call him a babysitter), without all the financial responsibility part.

He honestly hardly drinks anything in the evening now that we took away the bottle. He has mostly been keeping his nighttime diaper dry, and last night only the first trip to the bathroom is what I would consider a lot of pee. I'm definitely crossing my fingers it was the itchy wet nose that tickled him into thinking it was the pee-time. We ended up pulling him into bed with us at 2:30am and me keeping a tissue on the nightstand so I just rolled over to wipe after that.
DD had her second dentist visit this morning. It went about as well as I expected: she balked at the polishing tool, refused to open her mouth for anything except the standard toothbrush the hygenist offered her, and cried. I ended up having to flip her on her back over my knees so the doctor could peer in her mouth while her head was upside down.
She has all twenty teeth. They were also able to brush a fluoride treatment on.
I know the dentist association or whatever recommends these check ups and cleanings starting with the first tooth now, but damn, if I was an insurance person I'd be hard-pressed to pay for an appointment that really boiled down to toddler uncooperation. And I sure as hell would be thinking long and hard about scheduling another appointment for the next six months If we didn't have dental insurance. I'd probably wait until she turns three.
Also, there were TVs over the chairs, and when I requested they put on PBS I was surprised to not see Daniel Tiger or Sesame Street. I'm glad yall confirmed I wasn't crazy.

My dentist says there's not really much reason to see them before 3, so we aren't unless there's a problem.
@theformerwren, I'm sorry about your colleague. It's stories like that (young person with no apparent risk factors having a heart attack) that make me want to say "fuck diet and exercise!"

sympkin Thanks for your perspective! Also for "collective dingleberries" (hipster band name?) In my case it may be that because my little shop doesn't make much $ he doesn't take it seriously. I wish he could see my sewing time as I do - not just a hobby or business but my main source of sanity. You know, just like I wish that my kids could understand that if they slept I'd be a much more fun mom, but that's neither here nor there

My dentist doesn't see patients until they are three and recommends against it unless there is a problem. Says it creates unnecessary aversions. I love my dentist!
anustart1, you have your hands full with those boys. They are both too smart for there own good.
ETA: I know handsful isn't a word.
I wish they would apply their smarts to helpful things like, say, squeezing their own damn yogurt tubes up from the bottom. Why is that so hard for such smart kids?!?!

Hey ladies.
I'm still around...sorta.
I had some blood work done on Friday to measure progesterone levels & turns out... I didn't actually ovulate. So I'm really upset about that and I think I'm just gonna hang back a bit. I'll still be titting around & checking messages, just not participating like before.
So a general squishy (itty bitty) boobie hugs, nut punches to stupid people, & t&p to those who need them.

ryanswifey619 - what a tough situation. Your mom should leave when he is there if they can't talk like adults. It sounds like she is really hurt and mad. I hope you don't have to be in the middle again like that anytime soon.

(I don't think she was actually in remission before. I think I misinterpreted something she told me -- she's not great at giving details about what's going on, so assumptions generally have to be made... So I think we're dealing with cancer that didn't fully respond to the first round of chemo and treatment.)
